I feel like alot of people tend to misunderstand what Ruan Mei is about or is talking about. Becoming an Aeon is not her goal, it is the cherry on top. The actual cake is the understanding of life. If she becomes an Aeon in the process, hey thats great! But if she did not, its more of a "meh" Unless of course you need a living vessel for the birth of the new Aeon, in that case she would most probably volunteer for that

Well-made video! You highlighted a lot of the theories I also had in mind for a while now, namely that the Permanence constituted of the Abundance and the Propagation. Also, you're spot-on in your analysis of Ruan Mei. Many tend to misunderstand her character when the simple truth is that she *only* wants to understand *life*---its essence, origin, meaning, everything. On the topic of Ruan Mei, while yes, it's probable (in terms of story direction) that the Permanence is "revived" from a merging of the Abundance and the Propagation as you mentioned, but I would like to point out another possibility---that being of a new path being born; not the Permanence, but 'Life' itself. And Ruan Mei might be the perfect beholder of this concept. From her trailer, we know that she has an interest in ascending to Aeonhood. It's not her ultimate goal, but I don't think hyv would have hinted at it in her trailer if it wasn't going to lead to anything. So, who knows? This could be another possibility. After all, splitting, dilution, merging, absorbing are very abstract processes; who's to say that putting the Abundance and Propagation back together will rebuild a prefect Permanence? Which is why I say that a new path might be created (eg, Life)
I also want to add that we still know nothing about Jingliu’s 'revelation', which will presumably play a significant role in this godslayer plan. Just wanted to bring light to this cuz I'm hungry for some theories lol
About your end note on the third option, I feel like there was something in game that said Aeons can't stray from their path once they ascend so I'm not sure if they can just descend from their position as Aeon since it could imply they're not following their path as truthfully anymore nad therefore "die"
To be fair if we pretend for a moment that Aeon's are the big herrschers, then it would track with MHY repeating events in different ways and cycles that they will in fact make a big harpoon out of Tayzzyronth and stab the fuck out of Yaoshi with it. Ofc it might cause the fusion and stuff, and follow any of the 3 'ways' to kill an aeon but i do think somebody's getting stabbed with a bug leg. Sort of how people of Izumo did as well. Also on lesser scale. Sort of how Scaramouche used Archon's gnosis to become one. Sort of how probably Tsaritsa will use fragments of a Descender to fuck over another one too.
i think the idea of aeons being absorbed into one another definitely holds some weight because we see something a lot like that in the divergent universe gameplay. when you pick equations, you are basically fusing the powers of two paths, but one aeon is generally the "primary" one which outlines how the equation is activated and the other one provides the outcome. for example, nihility x propagation = stacking suspicion on enemies (nihility) gives enemies spores (propagation)

Propogation and Abundance seemed to be paths that are like right next to each other, yet Propogation supposedly spawned from Permanence which felt so different (Though it could be similar to Genshin's Transience-Eternity). Yeahhh, I guess Permanence is an older path, so if Propogation had to stray from one, it would be from Permanence rather than from Abundance, a path that I think didn't exist yet, but.... One observation that I saw on your last video and I see repeated in this one. Paths are not CONCEPTS per se, they are (and very explicitly) IDEOLOGIES. Nihility is not nothingness itself, it is the belief that existence's meaningless makes your own actions irrelevant and not worth doing, while Elation is not laughter but the belief that existence's meaningless makes your own enjoyment the absolute priority. That ideology gives them authority over some concepts associated to their ideology, but those concepts are not the path itself. That is why there can be paths with a similar outcome that do not overlap, because their methods (ideologies) are completely different. With Harmony and Order, they do overlap because Order is just one of the permutations that Harmony accepts. It is also why Mara is a feature, not a bug, for the Abundance. The Abundance ideology is survival of the individual at any cost and becoming an unkillable monster is the best way of doing so.
I kinda had the same thought but what would happen to Lan then ? Because Lan and Yaoshi are like Life and Death philosophy, would Lan go after Long on his own ? Or will they collide too to "ascend" to a concept that could clash with Long ? Maybe stupid since they are making a big deal with Akivili's "death/disappearance" but perhaps the third option is what happened. The trailblaze unlike any other path is more like a goal, well not an easy one, but still has an end somewhat. And Akivili just found what they were looking form, as they wanted to settle down perhaps? I mean as we explore we see this repeating trend of ex-trailblazers settling down, it was especially apparent in Penacony. Maybe trailblazing as a path was always more than it's Aeon but a collective desire to explore until a goal is met. Perhaps that's also why the path of elation was so connected with the trailblaze path, they aren't necessarily a need or negative. They seem to be close, like how entertainment is to travel. Perhaps we can see an aeons and hierarchy of needs chart one day, I'm personally too lazy to search or make up of my own right now. We now paths can exist without their aeon but oddly the trailblaze seems somewhat suspicious. Even without the aeon, they don't seem that weakened as long as there are people willing to "trailblaze". Or perhaps we just don't know how the path was in it's prime so we can't comment on that aspect just yet.
One thing you missed in this topic is.. what will happen to LAN when Yaoshi "disappeared"? That also what Taoran asked to himself and to Jing Yuan. So although this "godslayer protocol" might sound perfect.. there's this one piece of mystery that might play a role later and may ruin all of the plan. Some Aeons have a very narrow singular goal like Akivili who just want to explore the world, but among them Hunt is the narrowest one. And perhaps what happened after THEY achieved THEIR goal might closely related to the 3rd way to KO an Aeon.
Oh, I absolutely love the explanation of "Qlipoth didn't killed Tayzzyronth because Preservation also includes preserving The Swarm"! I just don't know how all of it dovetails into my preferred theory of "Qlipoth actually lost war against Leviathans and that's why Amber Eras take longer every time (Qlipoth abandoning our part of Universe to save the others and essentially is running away thus longer times between hammer drops due to distance) and IPC actually works for Oroboros the Voracity".
If all this happens to be true, I am incredibly curious what happens to the Hunt path, does Lan just start drying to kill Lang now? Does he not because it's not the same? If he doesn't, what does he do now, since his hunt is over? If he does give chase I guess they can just keep it ongoing as it currently is in the game

Okey, i have been obsessing over this SPECIFICK TOPIC. (made a whole thread about it too) Thank you very much. And i think the Xianzhou wont be too happy to oblige in this help Yes the theoretical death of Yaoshi is their goal but the way Luocha and Jingliu made themself THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY similar way to what Stellaron hunters did, just to want see the leader /leaders aka Marshal Hua/ Fu xuan and Jing Yuan is playing with a two edged sword. and if Long is indeed still around, they just lost their ability to reascend , if Ruan Mei, Jingliu and Luocha were to be succesfull, we might have two eons on one path. Also Luocha in his lc is seen having to heal the remnants who look very much alive and eeger to stab Luocha in the heart are likely ekpt alive by him. I wonder if there could be other people keeping those remnants alive for him. Since he would have to been seperated from the coffin and maybe the coffin is STILL on the Loufu while he is on the Xuling with Jingliu. Maybe someone from the Alchemy Commision? Luocha's companion quest could be not a just a story march just read but a forshadowing from the devs that there are much more people helping aid in the project, or maybe something similar to what Nahida did with Wanderer's memory. Turning into a story book for poeple in the know to read but also to conseal their actions as just writting. anyway i cant wait for more stuff with the god slayer protocol and especially rn The Zhuming and it likely loosing their General just like Loufu (Huaiyan wishes to retire finnaly and Jing Yuan has been forshadowed to loose his mind and turn into a mara struck at any moment now)
Permanence might mean just you existing for an eternity or it might also mean continuance of bloodline - the only thing we have going on are the Vidyadharas and they dont reproduce. They might really be surviving "fragments" of a long gone Aeon permanently existing. I can agree that Abundance is a sub concept of Permanence. I think Voracity is the more suitable thing to use if against Yaoshi (and Tazzy tbh) because an Aeon's tum tum might be just enough to subjugate the whole idea of unlimited restoration (or reproduction)
I actually had the Theory that Long underwent an hatching Rebirth like the other Vidiyadara and became the first High Elder(after having Split off into multiple Part of itself to create them)
I thought as well that the plan was to merge the two paths into one and have it deal with the negative of each path. One that births and consumes at an alarming rate and the other that multiples and persists. In the end, putting limitations on the new path or ending the old.
Long himself dissolving and later reincarnating would be very on brand for his concept thematically, even if it wasn't a conscious choice. My personal theory on killing an Aeon is forcing it to act against it's own path, although that might still result in descending. I think a question that should be asked is what happens to *Lan* if Yashoi is killed, and what role he would play in the unfolding events.

I'm personally not even sure that Permanence, Propagation and Abundance are actually 3 different paths. They look to me more like same path that is expressed by 3 different Aeons. Also Vidyadhara explicitly have same or at least similar problems. IIRC at least one was forced into rebirth because of risk of inheriting disabilities otherwise as they would normalize to his "pattern" (and as I understand replacing bodyparts was no more possible than for Xianzhou native). Another have faulty rebirth that triggers once pers several years instead of proper lifetime. Third don't grow past child size and it's again unfixable.
I may be coping, but I think the third way could be to make an aeon rethink their principles and force them to change path, as that would probably have a massive effect on their personality, and the state of the path they governed before as a whole.
Kinda feel like the Propagation vs. the Abundance makes sense - Tayzzyronth can make limitless soldiers, and Yaoshi can make immortal soldiers. It's basically a unbreakable shield vs. unstoppable sword conundrum, with Yaoshi as the shield and Tay (i'm not typing that name multiple times) the sword. At the very least, the shard of the Propagation can likely fight Yaoshi to a standstill while some other Aeon or force (possibly Lan) tips the scales with additional firepower. edit: okay no you're right, ruan mei is big sus.
In march 7th companion quest fake Herta this this line : "because she had no past to speak of.she was an Aeon, and Aeons have no past... From the moment they ascend, the past and future of their existence becomes inundated by their path. March 7th's mistake was the loss of the authority of the Aeons." this could be the third way to kill an Aeon
19:14 I would like to mention. An aeon is only consistent of the concept they represent. If an aeon somehow does not follow their path they kinda... cease to exist..
I do think the 3rd option is, more than likely, what happened to Long. We still do not know how Long died only that they did and, given how Tranz and Yaoshi only came about after Long's death and there is no stories about Long fighting another Aeon, we can conclude the two options we do know about how an Aeon could die are not what happened to Long. This leaves only the 3rd, still yet unknown option, and we have to assume that, similarly, the way Long died is the same way Akivili 'disappeared'. Like Long, we seemingly have no idea what happened to Akivili only that they went to try to find the endpoint of the Imaginary Tree only to suddenly disappear somehow. Now given how no Aeon seems to taken credit for killing Akivili and the Trailblaze path hasn't been incorporate into another Aeon means that Akivili disappearing wasn't the result of his path colliding with another Aeon's path. So, logic would dictate that, unless there is a secret 4th way an Aeon can die, the 3rd way has to be the way Akivili to descend from his path and become a pathstrider. Now I'm not saying the character we play as being called 'The Trailblazer' has anything to do with them being Akivili's descended self, I'm just saying that if the 3rd way does turn out to be what we all think it is, a lot of pieces regarding TB would start making sense.

I think propagation can neutralize abundance the same way ecosystems are balanced due to having a predator to shave down or control the abundance of population of its prey. It does remove the idea of permanence since it requires death to have the cycle running.
ASHIKAI, I have to point out that in Genshin from region to region we are going the technology used/ occurred is linearly progressed. Which might explain why Mihoyo started using bullsh... I mean skaters, motorcycles, flying GUNS in Natlan which isn't canonically the most technologically progressed area. BUT if the game will be connected directly to another (khm... HSR) Mihoyo game, then it might make sense. Otherwise Mihoyo might just killed Genshin with meaningless character utilities thanks to devs who smoked something.

Maybe stupid since they are making a big deal with Akivili's "death/disappearance" but perhaps the third option is what happened. The trailblaze unlike any other path is more like a goal, well not an easy one, but still has an end somewhat. And Akivili just found what they were looking form, as they wanted to settle down perhaps? I mean as we explore we see this repeating trend of ex-trailblazers settling down, it was especially apparent in Penacony. Maybe trailblazing as a path was always more than it's Aeon but a collective desire to explore until a goal is met. Perhaps that's also why the path of elation was so connected with the trailblaze path, they aren't necessarily a need or negative. They seem to be close, like how entertainment is to travel. Perhaps we can see an aeons and hierarchy of needs chart one day, I'm personally too lazy to search or make up of my own right now. We now paths can exist without their aeon but oddly the trailblaze seems somewhat suspicious. Even without the aeon, they don't seem that weakened as long as there are people willing to "trailblaze". Or perhaps we just don't know how the path was in it's prime so we can't comment on that aspect just yet.
All this just to breed Dan Heng. Worth it
One thing you missed in this topic is.. what will happen to LAN when Yaoshi "disappeared"? That also what Taoran asked to himself and to Jing Yuan. So although this "godslayer protocol" might sound perfect.. there's this one piece of mystery that might play a role later and may ruin all of the plan.
Some Aeons have a very narrow singular goal like Akivili who just want to explore the world, but among them Hunt is the narrowest one. And perhaps what happened after THEY achieved THEIR goal might closely related to the 3rd way to KO an Aeon.

I just don't know how all of it dovetails into my preferred theory of "Qlipoth actually lost war against Leviathans and that's why Amber Eras take longer every time (Qlipoth abandoning our part of Universe to save the others and essentially is running away thus longer times between hammer drops due to distance) and IPC actually works for Oroboros the Voracity".
If all this happens to be true, I am incredibly curious what happens to the Hunt path, does Lan just start drying to kill Lang now? Does he not because it's not the same? If he doesn't, what does he do now, since his hunt is over? If he does give chase I guess they can just keep it ongoing as it currently is in the game

Yes the theoretical death of Yaoshi is their goal but the way Luocha and Jingliu made themself THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY similar way to what Stellaron hunters did, just to want see the leader /leaders aka Marshal Hua/ Fu xuan and Jing Yuan is playing with a two edged sword.
and if Long is indeed still around, they just lost their ability to reascend , if Ruan Mei, Jingliu and Luocha were to be succesfull, we might have two eons on one path.
Also Luocha in his lc is seen having to heal the remnants who look very much alive and eeger to stab Luocha in the heart are likely ekpt alive by him. I wonder if there could be other people keeping those remnants alive for him. Since he would have to been seperated from the coffin and maybe the coffin is STILL on the Loufu while he is on the Xuling with Jingliu. Maybe someone from the Alchemy Commision? Luocha's companion quest could be not a just a story march just read but a forshadowing from the devs that there are much more people helping aid in the project, or maybe something similar to what Nahida did with Wanderer's memory. Turning into a story book for poeple in the know to read but also to conseal their actions as just writting.

Permanence might mean just you existing for an eternity or it might also mean continuance of bloodline - the only thing we have going on are the Vidyadharas and they dont reproduce. They might really be surviving "fragments" of a long gone Aeon permanently existing. I can agree that Abundance is a sub concept of Permanence.
I think Voracity is the more suitable thing to use if against Yaoshi (and Tazzy tbh) because an Aeon's tum tum might be just enough to subjugate the whole idea of unlimited restoration (or reproduction)
I actually had the Theory that Long underwent an hatching Rebirth like the other Vidiyadara and became the first High Elder(after having Split off into multiple Part of itself to create them)
I thought as well that the plan was to merge the two paths into one and have it deal with the negative of each path. One that births and consumes at an alarming rate and the other that multiples and persists. In the end, putting limitations on the new path or ending the old.

Long himself dissolving and later reincarnating would be very on brand for his concept thematically, even if it wasn't a conscious choice. My personal theory on killing an Aeon is forcing it to act against it's own path, although that might still result in descending.
I think a question that should be asked is what happens to *Lan* if Yashoi is killed, and what role he would play in the unfolding events.

I'm personally not even sure that Permanence, Propagation and Abundance are actually 3 different paths. They look to me more like same path that is expressed by 3 different Aeons.
Also Vidyadhara explicitly have same or at least similar problems. IIRC at least one was forced into rebirth because of risk of inheriting disabilities otherwise as they would normalize to his "pattern" (and as I understand replacing bodyparts was no more possible than for Xianzhou native). Another have faulty rebirth that triggers once pers several years instead of proper lifetime. Third don't grow past child size and it's again unfixable.

I may be coping, but I think the third way could be to make an aeon rethink their principles and force them to change path, as that would probably have a massive effect on their personality, and the state of the path they governed before as a whole.
I hope we do indeed see more Long (Lang idk) lore because he seems to be one of the oldest and wisest Aeon we know of
Kinda feel like the Propagation vs. the Abundance makes sense - Tayzzyronth can make limitless soldiers, and Yaoshi can make immortal soldiers. It's basically a unbreakable shield vs. unstoppable sword conundrum, with Yaoshi as the shield and Tay (i'm not typing that name multiple times) the sword. At the very least, the shard of the Propagation can likely fight Yaoshi to a standstill while some other Aeon or force (possibly Lan) tips the scales with additional firepower.

I do think the 3rd option is, more than likely, what happened to Long. We still do not know how Long died only that they did and, given how Tranz and Yaoshi only came about after Long's death and there is no stories about Long fighting another Aeon, we can conclude the two options we do know about how an Aeon could die are not what happened to Long. This leaves only the 3rd, still yet unknown option, and we have to assume that, similarly, the way Long died is the same way Akivili 'disappeared'.
Like Long, we seemingly have no idea what happened to Akivili only that they went to try to find the endpoint of the Imaginary Tree only to suddenly disappear somehow. Now given how no Aeon seems to taken credit for killing Akivili and the Trailblaze path hasn't been incorporate into another Aeon means that Akivili disappearing wasn't the result of his path colliding with another Aeon's path. So, logic would dictate that, unless there is a secret 4th way an Aeon can die, the 3rd way has to be the way Akivili to descend from his path and become a pathstrider.
Now I'm not saying the character we play as being called 'The Trailblazer' has anything to do with them being Akivili's descended self, I'm just saying that if the 3rd way does turn out to be what we all think it is, a lot of pieces regarding TB would start making sense.

I think propagation can neutralize abundance the same way ecosystems are balanced due to having a predator to shave down or control the abundance of population of its prey. It does remove the idea of permanence since it requires death to have the cycle running.
And also if the abundance couldn't keep up. Propagation can't feed enough to grow too much of a threat. So in a way both cancel out imbalances.
With that said.. would the hunt be the third aeon to be assimilated into propagation and abundance?
Me thinking Luocha is probably just going to turn it into a Weapon/Armor and call it's Godsbane: Something and Marshall Hua will be using it XD
ASHIKAI, I have to point out that in Genshin from region to region we are going the technology used/ occurred is linearly progressed. Which might explain why Mihoyo started using bullsh... I mean skaters, motorcycles, flying GUNS in Natlan which isn't canonically the most technologically progressed area. BUT if the game will be connected directly to another (khm... HSR) Mihoyo game, then it might make sense. Otherwise Mihoyo might just killed Genshin with meaningless character utilities thanks to devs who smoked something.
