As someone who has never been a part of inner-city Mexican culture, I was a field Mexican/farmer, I never really understood this whole personification of toughness. I know not all inner-city organizations are out there, saying they run this, they run that, because I’m 100% positive that they don’t want that heat, even if they could do that. I find how it has infiltrated rap/hip-hop to be very interesting. Especially, when you find out that some of these guys are from the suburbs or just lived in a lower income area. I remember my first dose of LA Street culture in the early 2000s. I had just join the army and we went to the big Lowrider/Chicano event. It was one of the cool sayings I have ever been to. The amount of pure talent down there from the artist, pen stripers, and custom car shops was so cool to see.
