Hello bro, i am from India and i am going to Croatia on 15th may. I have a work visa and my ticket is booked with turkish airlines. My layover is in Istanbul airport for 19hours so please tell me that this tour is free or i have to pay any charges for that? I also want to ask that I booked a online reservation for this so after completing my tour can i also avail free hotel service by turkish airlines? And last thing do i need any kind of visa for that also? I have Indian passport and valid Schengen visa of Croatia. Thank u brother waiting for your reply
Hello Bro, welcome to my channel! To answer your questions: The tour is free of charge as long as both your flights are Turkish Airlines from India to Istanbul and Istanbul to Croatia. You can only avail this tour or the free hotel. Only one of each :) with your Layover of 19 hours, I think you can avail of the overnight stay (especially if the hours of your layover will be afternoon to morning) and I think I will choose the free hotel if it was the case :) Yes you do need a Visa to go to the tour as you need to go out of Inmigration. But as an Indian Passport Holder and you have a valid Schengen Visa, it will be easy via the eVisa website of Turkish eVisa. You can do it online very fast. You just need to go to the website (Turkish eVisa) enter your details then pay pn the same website and follow the instructions and then dont forget to print a copy of that eVisa :)

The only thing that was kind of a set off for me was how hard it was to find the Touristanbul Kiosk the first time I arrived. Just FIY, Istanbul airport is humongous, so it’s really easy to get lost.
I am with you on this one Yen, it was really tough for me as well to look for the Kiosk. I hope TK can look for a better way on positioning their Kiosk so many more can enjoy it easily. And thank you so much for dropping a comment! Hope you find the video entertaining
Great Video, I was approved to take touristanbul. I have a question, where does the tour drop you off afterwards? I want to book a Yotel room but not sure if I should boo the landside or international airside Yotel? If you can help e with this information
Hello Dandel! Welcome to my channel and thank you for watching. Hope it was helpful. Right after the tour, the Bus will drop you back to the hotel at the Departure Area. As per the Yotel, I haven't had the chance to experience it but I think the Landside is located at the Departure side as well just opposite to where the Tour will drop you afterwards so it should be convenient I think :) But also Dandel, if you can check again your layover, Turkish Airlines also has the Overnight stay if in case you have a longer layover, you can enjoy that one as well as they will book you a 4 star hotel in the city. I suggest you check that option as well in case you have enough time to stay. Tell me how your trip goes okay? I'm excited for you as I enjoyed Istanbul so much!
@@anmolasghar17sw54 You can only take the tour or the free hotel stay, not both. The Yotel hotel landside is in the departure level and the Tour desk is in the arrival level. The two levels are connected by escalators.

I am planning to take the Touristanbul . 1)My question is do I need to claim my checked in baggage at Istanbul and to check in again ? 2) my flight lands on 4.00am in the morning, and I guess the trip starts on 8.00am . If I come out of immigration, is there any lounge outside the immigration area? Or should I stay in the transit area for the lounge to get some rest and leave the immigration at around 7.00am to catch up with the hotel desk ? Please reply me whenever you’re free, I am a bit confused in planning my trip. Thanks in advance
Hello Brother Aqilahamed! Thank you for your question. First of all, the layover time you have is amazing! It really enables you to choose a tour that you will like as it covers basically daytime! 1) No need to claim Baggage. As long as your ticket is purchased as one Unit (meaning bought as one ticket of two flights and not two separate London to Istanbul, and a separate Istanbul to KSA) you don't need to claim checked in baggage :) 2) For Airport Lounges that one Im not super sure if there is any nearby (first class lounges, paid lounges, etc) But there are a lot of chairs and seating areas around the Touristanbul Desk/Office where you can stay and wait for the 7am time to line up and register for the tour. I would suggest to go directly to the touristanbul and just wait on the chairs there as you need to walk quite a distance from your Arrival Gate as IST Airport is like a whole City haha I'm excited for your trip, wish you an amazing trip and stop in Istanbul and tell me how it goes ;)
Thank you for making this video, its very helpful. I was reading some of the comments to see if the question has been asked. But i may have missed it. Do you select the time of the tour at the front desk where you line up for the the tour or have to apply online for the tume slot? I have a layover in Instanbul in two weeks from now
Hello Mark, no worries and happy you find it helpful! Tours are scheduled already through the day if I'm not mistaken there are 5 or 6 tours with different times and duration, you will then select what would be best fit to your layover :) No need to apply online, just make sure your layover fits your selected tour. If I may suggest better check as early as now the tour schedules and what will be fit to your layover so you can be ready at what time (I suggest at least 40 minutes before your chosen tour, you should be lining up on the TourIstanbul desk already) Safe travels Mark and enjoy Istanbul!

Hello! Not sure if you’ve answered this question already but what month was this filmed? I have a layover in Turkey and will be doing this tour but want to make sure I’m dressed accordingly as my final destination is Egypt.
Hi Steven, Instead of taking the bus trip, can I choose to take the free accommodation? I can't see the option to choose accommodation on toursitanbul website, there's only tour option to select. Also, mine is one way trip, from India to USA, through Istanbul with 17 hr layover, so will I still be eligible for free accommodation for one way ticket? Also, would you recommend Bus trip (given that most of the things are shown through bus, which I didn't like to be honest.)? I prefer having a trip where I can roam freely through the streets, so I'll prefer doing my own trip instead through them via bus.
Hello there :) Thank you for your question and Ill answer it with the best of my knowledge. I think the free accomodation will depend not just on the number of hours (usually minimum of 20 hours if I'm not wrong) and if the layover is through the night. Upon reading forums as well, one thing done by a traveller was to contact Turkish Airlines directly prior to the trip for them to do the booking in your behalf in advanced :) As per the bus trip, I think there is a full day trip (if it matches the schedule of your layover) which will enable you to do the trip with more roam around time. Personally I would still recommend doing the Touristanbul just for the sake that it will be safer for you to be back in time for your second flight, as the City Center of Istanbul is about an hour away to the Airport. Though if you feel a little brave and would want to do a DIY, I would say its also a great idea as you can roam freely (and discover their food!) But yes if it was me I will take the tour because it also gives you time to roam although not so much but it's safer not to be left behind by your next flight :)

You didn't mention it, but don't you have to register online with your plane ticket? And then when you get to the counter you already have a reservation?
Hello :) No need to have a registration prior, You just need to make sure that your connection time has a tour that will fit your connection hours. Example tour 1 is 8-11:30 am so your Layover time should be earlier than 7:30 am (to give you time to register on the desk) and later than 11:30am. So better to choose and plan the flight and layovers AND match them with their available tours prior to purchasing your tickets. But registration will only be done on the spot at the TourIstanbul desk :) They do not do pre-registration, everyone will be lining up on the spot about at least an hour before the tour.
That is a very good question! I haven't booked from a travel booking website yet, I usually book direct from the Plane's own Website. I'd suggest booking directly from Turkish Airline Site at least you are sure that both flight segments operate under them :)

But registration will only be done on the spot at the TourIstanbul desk :) They do not do pre-registration, everyone will be lining up on the spot about at least an hour before the tour.
do I need to book flights from Turkish airline's own website or a travel booking website will also do.
That is a very good question! I haven't booked from a travel booking website yet, I usually book direct from the Plane's own Website. I'd suggest booking directly from Turkish Airline Site at least you are sure that both flight segments operate under them :)
Hi,
Did you exchange money at the airport?
Hello there. I did not because my tour doesn't have a shopping part so I thought I wouldn't need it. But some establishments accept Euros and also a lot of card terminals as well if need to pay thru debit or credit :)
Good one... let us know if yo come to India
Oh India is high on my list! Thank you and will do!
Hi, which tour dis you take? How many hours?
Hello Munika! I took the 3 hour Tour that left at 8:30am and back at 11:30am on the airport
Nice video, I will have a 15hr layovers in December, and really curious about how it is based on the passengers' experience. Thx for the share.
@@munikahasibuan oh I highly recommend it :) check the available tour schedules based on the start and end of your layover, you might even fit to the full day tour :)
Do we arrive at the airport at 11:30 or do we leave istsnbul at 11:30 ??
The same question for 08.00-11.30 tour, thank you in advance for the reply
For the 8:30 - 11:30 tour, you will arrive at the airport at 11:30 so your next flight should be at least 2-3 hours after 11:30 :)
@@StevensQueue thank you :)

Is Visa required for Touristanbul transit tour for Indian passport?
@@AbrarAhmed-zl5md hello, yes you do but you can apply online for the Turkish eVisa. You need it so you can go out of the immigration area before going to the Touristanbul Desk :)
Oh, thanks for the clarification
@@AbrarAhmed-zl5md you are welcome :) and I recommend you do the tour! It's worth the online visa application fee and effort :)
@@StevensQueue definitely..!!! my plan is from Mumbai to Jeddah which is 1000USD, but choosing Turkish Airline just for this Touristanbul which cost 1500USD..!
@@AbrarAhmed-zl5md waaaaa that is quite a big difference in price. I suggest you better choose the long layover if you have an option to do so, so you will be able to enjoy more and do the long tour options. You can see the options and schedules on the touristanbul site :) so you can make the most out of your flight cost
at what time did you appear at the registration stall? I'm intending to take the half tour just like you did but afraid that it's gonna be too busy or sth the get a slot..?
@@maainguyyen i took the Tour that leaves at 8am so I made sure I was on the desk around 7am :)
Super helpful video! although, around how long did it take you to go through IST airport immigration?
Hello Marcy! Very good question. During my layover, I arrived 6:30am in Istanbul so it was so fast, there was no queue on the "Non-Turkish" section of the immigration so it took me like 5 minutes. But the first tome I was there last January there was a long queue but it took me only around 15-20 minutes. They are quite fast :)

hello po! did you work on your etravel (from ph) before the tour or they can arrange it at the airport desk? also, how much po 'yung travel tax?
Hello po! When going home from Spain po, I was asked to accomplish the eTravel thing via phone. Answer ko lang po yung form then save the QR 8which is hindi naman po hinanap sa akin pagdating ng Pinas but just to be sure I did it po) As per the tour of Turkish po, hindi po nila yan hinahanap, sa atin lang po yung eTravel thing. And no Travel Tax po sa Turkey. Also, sa Pilipinas lang din po may Travel Tax so no worries sa Turkey, all you need is Turkey Visa to go out of the Immigration on Turkey then go sa tour :)

@@muhammadrafiqatif9734 Hello there! Not sure yet about the free hotel but it is also on the same spot that I showed on the Vlog :) and yes you do need a Turkish e-Visa. hello po, for Philippine passport holders, for the E-Visa, yung "US Visa" is specific for tourist visa lang eligible or even for US working visa pwede?
@@cheyenneguinea8826 hello po! Not 100% sure with my answer but I think that will counts a US Visa!!! :) I think you can apply with that as a supporting document!
Hello kababayan! Thanks for the video! Very helpful! Im actually planning to take Turkish Airline going FCO since ive heard about Touristanbul. I'd like to ask if you applied for a evisa and how much it cost? And also the travel tax. Thanks for the answer :)
Hello Kabayan! Thank you for watching and happy you enjoyed it! I highly recommend it Kabayan! The cost for the Turkish eVisa is 20€ single entry, all you need is single entry kasi isang labas ka lang sa immigration and then balik after the tour :) online lang sya all you need is your passport details and if Philippine Passport, additional requirement lang is US/UK/Schengen Residence Permit. Wala nang travel tax to pay when you are there, just the eVisa Fee kapag nagapply ka online. Ganun din physically when you arrive, papakita mo lang is passport, residence card, and the eVisa Paper (print mo po ito) :)
Thank you so much Kabayan! Thank you for taking time replying on my query. Sobrang naappreciate ko to. At least alam ko na gagawin ko pag layover namin. 😊 looking forward to this travel. Again thank you and Kudos po. Praying for more trips and more success on your channel!

Hi Sir, I will be laying over in Istambul from dublin before continuing my flight to Jakarta. My flight will arrive in Istanbul at 17.00, while the last batch of tour at the day would start at 16.00. Do you think I can still join the tour ?
00.25 is my flight to Jakarta
Hello Rizky, welcome to my channel and happy to have you here. Oh unfortunately I think you will not make it to the tours given your layover times. If I may suggest maybe you can change your flights still on a long layover, i would say it will be worth it if you can look for an earlier flight from Ireland so you can have a longer and importantly, much earlier layover :)
Ur video is awesome. Can u plz tell do they provide facility to keep our bags while taking the tour ? Thanks
Hello nacg2133. Thank you so much for watching :) Oh you have two options, first is the Bus has a storage so while you do the tour, you can keep it in the same bus without a fee (what I did) but also just beside the TourIstanbul desk, there is a paid luggage left storage you can avail :)
Hi sir, for PH passport holder what is the process for transit visa?
Hello Sir Cris :) For Philippine Passport Holders po, you can apply for eVisa if you have a valid US/UK/Schengen Visa or Residence ID. If wala po, need po magapply for Turkish Visa on the regular process po :)

Hey I have an Indian passport and am travelling to Chicago from Bombay via Indigo. I have a 19h layover at Istanbul airport its the Indigo flight operated by Turkish airlines, am I eligible for a free tour/free hotel?
Hello, thank you for your question, this is very very interesting and I tried to do my own research on Google and Turkish Airlines site regards to flights operated on partner airlines but I cannot find a clear answer. I would suggest to get in touch directly with Turkish Airlines / Touristanbul agents for this question for best advise :)
Is you visited hagia sophia mosque inside ?
Yes I did. It was very beautiful. But not through this tour, I went on a day stopover with my Turkish Friend. You should visit Hagia Sofia, it's glorious!
Do I need to apply for turkey e visa as a us citizen when I do free touristanbul when my flight is delayed between 6 and 24 hours
