I realized that later, but then fixed it. As for Q... we are not on a good terms at the moment.
A major part of the Tempest being named differently from Typhoon is that early Typhoons had a lot of issues. They were even kept off combat duty for a while DURING ww2 because of that. So the Tempest - Typhoon relation is similar to Me.410 - Me.210. Until the V1 flying bombs showed up above Britain, Typhoon was considered a failure. Typhoon became useful in chasing those flying bombs, due to it's high speed. By that time Tempest was already in development.
I was always fond of the Seahawk. Got an ace in my first battle, before I put rockets on it. Still not 100% sure why it's less regarded
Seafang is in the same boat. Doesn't get nearly enough love!
It struggles when countered by planes like the tempest due to the sacrifice of maneuverability and the dpm struggles to one pass those it can't out turn. But as a zone flipper is is competent when left alone. It's kinda like the swift problem. Just too different from the plane preceeding it and under powered tier for tier compared to its tier X counterpart. But I will find a way to make it work 😆
Seahawk is easily and therefore often countered. You need to be a support plane with it. On the EU server we have more human players and many of them are ruBOTS that came from CIS server. This translates to being chased by mobs halfway through the map if you're perceived to be flying a "weak plane". I lately had one of my worst loss streaks in Seahawk, averaging 8000+pp and 400+cp.
Just like the British heavy line, I really need to get back to the British Multirole line (and the fighter line, for that matter). There seems to be so many cool higher tier British aircraft in those three lines. I'm stuck at 6 on all three, and haven't even flown the Mosquito or Hurricane II yet.
TBH, the Hurricane I was a bit of a disappointment for me - but I've flown more and learned more, so maybe I'll have a different go with the Mk II.
Love the History segment as always. Kind of reminded me of the Me 210 -> Me 410 - IIRC, the 410 was really an improved 210 but the 210 was so unloved they decided to give it a new name. Not quite the same as the Typhoon -> Tempest, now that I think about it :)
One of my favorite plane in the game. What I love the most on this one and on the Typhoon, is that you can keep the bombs when you're specialized. Also the guns seems to keep firing for a long time before overheat. Too bad that the next plane in the line is just a victim.
interesting development history starting with the Tornado, then Typhoon and Tempest. Tempest Vs, known for downing the V-1 buzz bombs launched towards London.
Yeah tail gunners. Way overpowered. Have experimental equipment. Refuse to use it. Don't like pilot or engine shot out every time so I don't do it to others. Makes game kinda hoaky. Only bots in my turrets. Hope wowp nerfs manual turret fire.
