Interesting video! I wonder if you might share more details on that APRS digipeater? If you had to replace the whole unit today, would you get the same one?
I probably would, or I'd get the TinyTrak 4 which I use on another site as an APRS digi. In the early days and models, the TNC-X (or X-Digi) had buffer errors where it would lock up and stop working. You'd need to do a power reset to fix it. That said, I think the later models resolved this and it's been running non-stop for 3-4 years now.
@@HamRadioDX Thanks for the quick feedback! I looked at the tiny track 4 as well. Just gotta figure out which one of the four or so I’m looking at to buy now.
Just remember, if the repeater is on private property, always get permission before you go on site. The old saying "it's easier to ask for forgiveness" does not fly. A repeater site recently got evicted for this very reason.
Nice timing - sunshine, still wind, and no drop bears to ruin your day !

10 mbit half duplex ether? Let's go back 40 years :)
Yeah I know right. The board passes very little data, so it’s not a problem but helps with packet errors
If anyone is going to put gravity on that shed, please make it a cool ham op. Ore atleast something ham radio related. 👍🏻
