Murphy proved the old saying "its not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog" Tiny guy, rose from private to battlefield commision. Had to play himself in a biopic in hollywood (weird), did so much for PTSD for fellow servicemen after the war. Incredible life cut way too short.

Thanks to you I had a really good understanding of the movements of Audie Murphy here. I visited this spot last July and it was impressive to be there and see the ditch, the fields etc. With your information and some other sources I had a good idea of the actions there.

A place I'd love to visit one day so I could do the same! I bet it was a very moving experience for you to go there.

@@WW2Wayfinder I totally recommend it, very humbling and sadly it’s a large Cemetery. Washington also has the Vietnam Wall Memorial , a Korean War Memorial and a WW2 Memorial too and many other museums

Hahaha I’m trying to watch your video and watch ‘To hell and back’ 😂
Luckily I have perfected this feat with the assistance of Jack Daniels 😂😂😂
    Great work mate

Very interesting fact, Audie earned EVERY medal the USA gives for bravery ~~~before he was old enough to vote…let that sink in!

He was an incredible man and to think he rose through the ranks and achieved what he did and then how acting went on to help with his PTSD post war!

I just want to comment on one thing. You don’t “win” a MOH. You earn it.

I’m confused did he jump on the enemy tank gun or one of our tank guns?
