  • CHAPTER TIMESTAMPS AND LINKS BELOW.
Lollar Pickups partnered with Japanese pedal maker KGR Harmony Effects to create a limited run of Lollar Overdrive pedals housed in a unique cast iron enclosure. Featuring Volume and Gain controls, as well as a built-in 3-band EQ, this overdrive pedal is as versatile as it is beautiful to look at! Only 100 pedals will be available for the public to purchase, and when they’re gone, they’re gone. We have no plans to offer them again in the foreseeable future.
Last autumn KGR owner and pedal designer Keijiro Fukushima visited our shop to meet with the Lollar crew and share with us some of his creations. The sonic possibilities of his effects pedals impressed us-as did the beautiful enclosures Keijiro built to house the pedals.
After playing through several pedals, we zeroed in on his Overdrive pedal. While our pickups are renowned for their tone when played straight into an amplifier, we know that many-if not most-of our customers ultimately add effects to their signal chain, with overdrive being one of the most commonly used. We played a wide variety of our pickups through Keijiro’s overdrive pedal and felt it was the perfect platform for Lollar/KGR collaboration.
To build his enclosures, Keijiro uses a centuries-old forging technique called nambu-tekki. Nambu-tekki is a craft that is closely associated with Japan’s Iwate prefecture and is best known for producing beautiful cast-iron teapots. Using a forge that has been in operation for over 200 years, Keijiro adapted this technique to create the beautiful enclosures he uses for his effects pedals. Now, modern technology and ancient craftsmanship have come together to make our limited-run Lollar Overdrive pedal!
Regardless of the pickups you have in your guitar - Strat, Tele, P-90, humbucker, or even bass pickups - we believe that the Lollar Overdrive pedal will be a useful addition to any guitar player’s toolbox when crafting their personal tone. And, damn, it looks so cool!

This looks and sound like a great pedal. At $350 though, I'm pretty content with my overdrive pedals so I'd have to try one through my setup. If it's as good as my two sets of Lollar Pickups, I may regret passing on this one.

We definitely don't blame anyone for passing this up, especially folks who already have OD pedals that they are happy with. And no product can be for EVERYBODY.

They are phenomenal instruments, especially for the price they go for! This one was actually built set up by Yamaha's previous master builder and it plays incredibly!

Unfortunately, you can't. They sold out rather quickly. There are a few available on the second-hand market already, but people are flipping them for ridiculously over the top inflated prices.

Just came here to say thankyou to Lollar and KGR. I was already sold on the enclosure - it’s stunning and unlike anything else - and really appreciate anything that shouts skill and labour as this does. Although optimistic about the od itself I was prepared to be underwhelmed as there are so many great ods out there and with import and shipping this is among the most expensive high end pedals. I have to say, having been using it for a few days now, it is a keeper. I’m really very impressed not only by the dynamic and tonal range, the quality of the breakup, but also how well it stacks with a boost in front of it. I love it. I get great sounds and dynamics both from my tele and my 335. The eq is probably the most versatile I have had in an OD, but this also exceeds others in having really great sounds all the way through the range of tone and gain controls. Plus, it responds really well to dropping the guitar volume control, with a smooth transition from od to sparkly clean when I roll it off.
I can’t say how it compares with, say, a King of Tone, but I can say that ‘for now’ the search for that low-medium gain pedal is over.

For what it's worth, that's the cost of admission for small run effects these days. These pedals are built into hand-cast iron enclosures and there are only 100 available to the public. In fact, this pedal is actually more affordable than the pedal that it's originally based on, specifically because we wanted to ensure that they were as affordable as possible, given the highly unique qualities of the product.
We understand that they may not be for everyone, whether due to price or just not being their particular style of pedal. But for the folks who really get what we were going for and appreciate the craftsmanship involved, this price is a bargain. For everyone else, there are cheaper alternatives, and for them, that's just as good.

So why even make this video?
Why don't you just say we made the pedal for a few select people on our mailing list.......
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me

    • @LollarPickups
      @LollarPickups  8 місяців тому

Well, for starters, we announced it first to our mailing list, but it was for sale on our website to anyone, regardless of if they were on our mailing list or not. If you want to know when stuff like this gets dropped before the general public, you can sign up for the newsletter as well. However, we announced it shortly thereafter on social media, so it wasn't exactly a "secret" or anything.
As for why we made a video, we did it so that folks who might actually want to know what they were interested in spending their money on sounded and functioned in use. We didn't expect everyone to just buy one simply because we were selling it. So, we did this video so that we could embed it on the product page so those people could see and hear it in use before making their decision whether or not to buy it. I am sure that all 100 happy customers who got one are grateful that we gave them the chance to make an informed purchasing decision. We're keeping it on UA-cam because we are extremely proud of this release and we want folks to know about it, even if there aren't any more available.
Thanks for the question, take care.
