Cobra really is one of the greatest examples of Shadow-Directing in movies. Like you said, Sly Stallone definitely has his style implanted in it even if Cosmatos has the credit, the fast pace and over-the-top violence is really how you can tell it was all Sly's say. It's the quintessential action-horror movie of the 80s. It reminds me of how Howard Hawks shadow-directed the Thing From Another World (1951) despite Christian Nyby getting the credit. But if you see Howard Hawks' other classics like Rio Bravo and Red River then you can definitely tell The Thing(1951) was also Hawks' movie as well.
Just watched it the other night with my wife (her favorite Stallone film lol). We wish movies were still like this! The evil group meetings are hilarious with them just banging their weapons in the warehouse. The movie deserves more love.
The "Director's" commentary on the DVD is Amazing!! George just describes what he sees on the screen. It's Fucking hilarious. I also want to say I've always loved Cobra!
Great video as always. Love Cobra 😊👍🐾💜

I'm surprised Stallone hasn't done a sequel or two with this one. There's so much he could do with the character.
Beverly Hill Cop was great and Cobra was great! I think it all worked out in the end!
videos like this is why this channel kicks ass
Cobra is amazing! I’d love to one day see the original version too.
