Hi Sis Boni i think mineral processing is a short course at CTC Witbank, has nothing to do with control room its for plant operators. Usually control room operators are either someone with blasting certificate, but other mines hire people with just matric if you have been working for the same mine.
@@liferesetwithboni I did Accounting Sciences (CA Option)...It was difficult for worth nothing in the real world; I should've gone to college and be the Top Student with ease and still slay in the real world cause in Accounting you only make nice money once you're a Chartered Accountant.

I think the next conversation should be how much effort, time and sacrifice so of these careers require for one to actually earn that money. I'm also in the mining industry and wouldn't work those amount of hours, being constantly in that environment and the hard labour some of it requires, not even for that amount of money. Boni let me tell you i used to be a qualified Red Seal Rigger before changing to Software development and if i still had my payslip was going to share with you 😂😂 all i can say is we where chowing it sadly i had to change because of health reasons mind you im female and being a Rigger is physically demanding … i got in with N3 in mechanical engineering then went to do N2 Rigger trade theory
what scares me is the lack of provident fund contributions. I really hope these individuals are putting away a good portion of their earnings to a annuity or something and not just buying cars and booze.
@@insanemalik2214 What i mean is that if you Nett 50k a month I hope you are at least putting 10-15k away. If you rely on your company's 3k contribution that would not be enough to sustain you once you retire.
I think what's nice about careers in these fields is that they pay you for overtime. In corporate you'll put 100 hours overtime but if your salary is above a certain threshold then forget being paid for those hours. And I agree, people should stop looking down at people who go to colleges, they are so good with things like artisan because in varsity all you learn is theory for 4 years. And not to say that there is something wrong with that, you just get more exposure to certain fields in college than in varsity. And thanks for another great video Boni, the village is indeed happy.😁
Boni I'm soo disheartened right now. I have N4 Electrical engineering with a distinction, i couldn't study further due to finances so I stayed at home looking for an apprenticeship without any luck. Now I'm doing something else, a learnership that's not related to engineering, and I can't just leave cos I have to work back the years. If only I waited more for an apprenticeship 🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️

I was once a Pipe Fitter at Sasol (Secunda) earning 13k every 2 weeks without overtime. I studied the course for 3 months. The reason I wouldn't go back even though the money was good. 1. The grinder is just heavy!!!! 2. It's hard labor, especially if you're a woman. 3. You're lucky if you get like a 5-year contract. It was always 6 month, 1-year, 2 years contracts and can be very frustrating, coz you always go back to the unemployment queue.

I get that. It’s similar to esl teaching in muslim countries esp. The contracts are mostly 1 year as much as the money is good. It’s not stable enough. We all want stability. Permanent.

Semi skilled mostly dn,t hv trade test certificate called red seal certificate.mostly HV trade theory are partly HV practical experience
