One thing I noticed (though I've seen Daragon Maid S)... It's speculation, but probably true. In an early episode of season 1, Tohru asked Kobayashi if she wanted a sacrifice, and offered her blood. In S, Elma hints that she may have eaten humans as sacrifice in the past, but they tasted awful. When she tasted human works (prepared food) however, she began working more towards protecting and supporting them. I'll never dislike Elma (she's my favorite), but it is also simultaneously terrifying and calming that the only tangible reason she helps humans is because they make wonderful tasting food... if we tasted great, she'd probably still be eating us.

@@thereptile9467 Yes I am aware, the reality as well is that bears are pretty skittish they know to avoid humans inlcuding grizzlys, its Kodiak and other brown bears and then polar bears to watch for, a lot of men could take on bears because making yourself loud and bigger will scare them off, for us to compensate for not being the biggest, the strongest and fastest animal we compete with our brain and with tools. The reality is women cannot compete against men very well in martial arts, but throw in shooting or even archery and the gap doesn't exist, though on average men do better its partially due to societal upbringing as well. Obviously for archery draw weight can come into play and so if men are using 80-120lb bows and women are shooting 50-60..well the comparison falls off depending on whats being tested and the type of bows used.

It's a common survival tactics that even insects can use, you are essentially trying to trick the bear into thinking that removing your spine would be too annoying. Do note that this doesn't always work, bears that just woke up early from hibernation or bears that have cubs with them will just ignore this take the skin off your face, for instance. Also, I wasn't bringing up the average muscle density difference between man and woman because it's pretty clear that it's a thing.
