About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

What I like about this new album is that it doesn't sound like a bunch of midle-aged men trying to hard to be young again (as other bands certainly do). The songs are mature and interesting to listen to.

Damon Albarn seems eternally young to me. He always hits his marks, but mostly because he focuses on the human condition.

Damon is the only artist I consistently like regardless of what he does. His works have managed to impress me time and time again, his skill in making every one of his albums sound different and still put his own personal touch on it is astounding. He is a master of musical diversity and adaptation. Gorillaz is my all time favorite band, everyday robots is in my top three favorite albums, and blur is in my top ten favorite bands.
Graham Coxon once said "he was immature blocking himself from everyone before he left the band" and now, during the making of 'The Magic Whip', he metaphorically took the lyrics of Damon Albarn as (in his words): "the love of Damon for train" and "how Damon likes to stare at the window while he's traveling [in trains]" so Coxon didn't want Albarn seeing just a wall of guitars on his trip and broke down all the walls between them [Coxon and Albarn]. That thought makes this song and the whole álbum even more special :')
Ironically, this song kicks ass, but the live version blows this out of the water. The pure acoustics, drums and untouched vocals owned.

honestly I can't put out how beautiful this song is. there are certain songs that i would listen to and not like it at first listen but this song got me hooked the first time I've listened to it. The Magic Whip is a masterpiece
And it was 6 years ago that that damn song hurt too much and it hit the bottom of my heart, that's when you feel and really understand the song. Why don't they come back with another masterpiece like this one? :(

+Alejandra Estrada If you're a fan of Gorillaz I'd say start with Think Tank. It's the most Gorillaz-y sound Blur comes to (because Think Tank was recording around the same time as Demon Days). Music Is My Radar is a single that gets pretty close as well.

What an amazing song! Why is it the songs that tug so hard at your heart are the sad ones? Love and Sadness are among the most powerful of human emotions. This song impresses me as being about someone who feels alone in a crowd because of a broken heart.

It was a shame this song didn't get to me the first time I listened to it. Then, I saw this live performance in a radio show where the tone of the song has lower and more mellow pace. I fell in love instantly and amazed how Damon could make every of his songs distinctive in the best ways on live.
