Hatta lies to the south-east of Dubai's main territory and is about 134 km (83 mi) east of Dubai. It is located relatively high in the Hajar Mountains.[1] It borders Oman to the east and the south, the Ajman exclave of Masfout to the west, and Ras al-Khaimah to the north.
Hatta Dam provides calm respite from the buzzing city of Dubai. Surrounded by mountains and filled with stunning turquoise water, it’s a stark contrast to the desert sands you’ll pass en route to Hatta.
Drive your car along the dam, hike between photo stops and spend some time soaking up the natural beauty of the mountainous area. Visitors can also see the area from the water and burn some calories with Hatta Kayak, offering rental services for kayaks, canoes, paddle-boating and more.
A large mural commemorating the UAE's founding fathers was unveiled at the site, as part of the Dubai Street Museum project. The stunning artwork features the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
