I love mine. I am a woman with pretty shrimpy hands and the the full size Harsey folder is very comfortable in my hand. It’s a big knife but I can carry it in my pocket when my pockets have a bit of depth (women’s pants pockets are notoriously shallow and next to useless). It’s an awesome knife.
I really appreciate your reviews and especially cut testing. I’ve been wanting one of these for a while and the cut test put me over the edge. I use my knives. Everybody I’ve talked to had the same experience with customer service that you had. Hate to hear about hot spots but glad to know it up front. Thanks again.
Beautiful knife and glad to see you using it as intended. Definately a great edc grail knife for me as I don't mind carrying a large knife on me. Definately looks like the heat treat is spot on. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
I would love if they made a 3.5.” version. The mini is a little to small and that one is slightly to big for an EDC knife for me, but another great review thx…
Love the reviews! I’m thinking of getting one to replace my Hinderer eklips. I’m a fire/medic and think this would suit the job well! American made with quality parts! Thanks for the review
I just got the plague doctor special edition harsey folder and I love the size and the detail work is absolutely amazing and beautiful. However; there are a few things I hate about it. The action is not good for a knife that was over $600 it feels very gritty and I’m hoping it will break in. The second thing that drives me nuts is there is not a sharpening choil and the sharpened edge doesn’t go all the way to the end. I know I can add a choil easily with a file, but I feel I shouldn’t have to at that price. Also the acoustics of the knife are not what I was expecting for a knife of that size. When I open mine, it is so quiet and there is not that thwack you normally get when you open a knife. Like on the Koenig Arius one of my fav things about it is the sound it makes when it opens lol
The lack of a choil and edge not going all the way to the plunge, is defo off putting, doubly so at the price. I have a Harsey Fantoni, it's basically the same.
They make knives for professional warriors/soldiers so its supposed to be quiet. Yes its not necessarily a combat knife but its in its heritage if you think about it.
In my experience S45VN blades perform very well. I have an XM18 a Sebenza and a Harsey all wearing S45VN. Its seems to be much less of a heat treat crapshoot than M390 and 20CV!
Just wrapped up a swap for one of these, and I can't wait to get it. Found your vid whilst review hunting and liked your presence. New sub And I want your 21.
Listen to what Greg Medford said on his video he recently put out, the one with greg mini rant in the title...The reason why we are seeing these very nice looking knives is because they have the ability to put them out now where as before the military/ government contracts were the main focus of the business.
I have loved harsey's designs since I was a kid and knew nothing about him. I want one, I was really close to pulling the trigger on the PVD one a couple weeks ago but thought about it too long. I was really surprised how thin behind the edge it is cause my Spartan Pallas was a pig behind the edge till I reprofiled it.
8:09 oh you made my heart sick just now I had that heart CT too double action I don't know if that's the double action that has the automatic button hidden in the handle but I loved it, and when I sold it I didn't know that Lone Wolf was going out of business 😥
The Astor and Talos are different sizes. I have the Astor and it is a superb knife in every way. Everything you like about the Harsey you will find in the Astor except for the blade steel which is XHP. I THINK SPARTAN makes fantastic knives. When I can afford it I'll be picking up a Harsey. From 🇨🇦...stay safe and sharp.
I hve the EXACT Knife, only the Nordic Sailors and Til Valhalla on the other.. I EDC this regularly.!! I try to EDC ALMOST everything I own.. Some are too big / Small . Super Smooth Action as you say... Very Chris Reev'ish! after break in!! I just played w the pivot Screw and dialed it in. Main Pivot is a 15... Funny 6oz is featherwaeight to me, Under 5 and I really begin to not like it.. As Ive said I associate a little Heft with quality.. Obviously, not always the case, but it does have its merits..
Awesome video. Just got my first one, For God and Country. That's factory sharpening at 18dps or is that sharpened by you prior to testing? Either way awesome!
I love watching you test knives like you do but this one made me cringe!! But was also very happy to see how well it did... I have a purple plague doctor with Damascus blade
I want to love this knife so much, but there is one small thing wrong with it in my eyes. The jimping combined with the chamfer combined with the internal lockbar relief leaves a surprisingly sharp part of the handle, almost like a serration, right where your ring or pinkie fingers would go. The smaller version of the Harsey doesn't have the same problem, but I ended up selling my large one because of this issue. Gorgeous knife though.
Sorry I was blown up in a chemical plant explosion and it burned 85% of my body along with my throat , that said I bought another mic and I think it toke care of it 🍻

Appreciate your review, saw it before but not sure if we responded or not. This was a very thorough test and evaluation and we hear you, thanks! 🙏🏼
Thanks I appreciate it 🍻

Great review per usual. Recently picked up the Fir Tree version, quickly became one of my all time favorites.

Definitely a Grail for me. I own the Pallas in S45VN and it is fantastic.
The one I want is the plague dr.
did you ever buy one? I just got one for $395 second hand - boxed safe snake.. Coming tomorrow!
I absolutely love mine 😊

Mine broke in so beautifully. Crazy smooth.
I got mine yesterday. So far I love it. Thanks for the review.
Great review! Just ordered an anodized blue dragon version from Spartan Blades! Great customer service!
Thanks so much for doing these videos. Incredibly valuable. Mighta just sold me on a Harsey!

I missed out on an Arius today and grabbed a Spartan Warthog instead, hoping I didn’t make a mistake. 0_o

Been looking at these for a few years now .. Finally pulled the trigger on a plague doc and can't wait to start edcing it! 👍🏼👊🏼

T-15 Pivot screw....Just bought that exact knife!
I would love to own one of these some day. I wish to have the Mayan calendar one they made though. Might be tough though LOL! Thanks much Mr Stassa.

@@jpolhamus71 sounds great man but I don't do any other social media format besides UA-cam. Appreciate you trying to help.
I have the stone washed version. Got a custom filler tab for it. It was my "grail" .. it's been my favorite knife since I got it.
@@bubba92473 your a wise man Marcos. UA-cam only for me too! 👍
I keep waiting for the right special edition to drop. They are on my most wanted list.

Just curious is there different variations of this knife I have it without the blue thumb studs

If you let that one guy please hit me up. 🤘🏼 Great video brother
Hey Stassa, you still “stassafy” handles for folks? I’d be interested to have some of your work in my collection. From one tank farm worker to another
I love watching you test knives like you do but this one made me cringe!! But was also very happy to see how well it did... I have a purple plague doctor with Damascus blade
That's a nice one. I wanted the rune one. I don't think I would use it though. That's why I went stone washed version.
@@THExDUDEx8624 that's a good one too
@@jpolhamus71 I just love stone washed because I can use the shit out of it and not really sure wear.
@@THExDUDEx8624 i do too but couldn't pass up the Damascus
Yes it can. The 3.25” is perfect
It's about half the weight of the big one, that's a big weight difference. I wonder how they compare is terms of feel.
Will let you know, but that I'll be my next knife!
did u spine whack it?
Grail!👆🤩

I’ve heard of people who done bgm regrind on that Spartan and it’s much better to edc.
What is bgm?
🛑 stop gulping so loud near the microphone 🎙️ 😂
