B1 61264 Working Hard at Horseshoe Curve, Crianlarich & Copy Pit (Autumn 2005)

Archive footage of the Thompson B1 Locomotive Trust's 61264 working a one-off railtour, The Jacobite Steam Express, from Fort William to Glasgow Queen Street over the West Highland Line, 4 September 2005. Seen at Horseshoe Curve and departing Crianlarich after a water stop. A couple of months later, 61264 is captured on Copy Pit on the Blackpool Illuminations Express, 5 November 2005.

That b1 was very close to attend the Severn valley railways spring gala of 2018 and becoming the first B1 to come here
Unfortunately work took too long on this engine so as a result 53808 had to stand in for this engine which was very disappointing

As of today this loco is now out of action due to an overhaul leaving mayflower the only B1 still out there

Wonderful David, fantastic sound from the B1. I remember my first visit to the Horseshoe Curve, just standing there and thinking Wow! And that was before the train came😂

Horseshoe Curve is really spectacular and provides a genuine test for loco and crew - wonder if I'll ever see it in the flesh. The other locations also gave the B1 a chance to show her power and all captured with your usual high quality. Take care - Chris
