ST. ANDREWS STATE PARK, FLORIDA - WALK THROUGH OF CAMPSITES 1-92; SUNSET AND DEER PICS AT THE END

  • Since Hurricane Michael in 2018, the campground in St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, Florida is completely changed. In this video, we take a walking tour of campsites 1-92, the most recent section to open after a complete make over of the sites. The weather during our October visit was absolutely perfect with temperatures in the 60s at night and 80s during the day. The Gulf water was crystal clear. We also show a beautiful sunset from the Gulf Pier and find a few deer roaming the park.

    Great video and very helpful. I just booked St Andrews for a few days in December and will be spending Christmas there. I was surprised I could get anything on such short notice. Come January 2024, Floridians will have the advantage of booking one month before the non-residents (understandable).

    I had to look up where is this state park because I've been most of them here in Florida. I need to start exploring Panhandle more. Looks like a nice place right by the water. 👍

      The Gulf is on one side and the campground is on the other side along the bay. When the water is clear, which is often, it is a wonderful place to snorkel along the jetties. Other parks in the panhandle to check out are Grayton, Topsail and Henderson. All beautiful and right on the Gulf!

    Nice park... exploring areas to RV camp next year. Is the pier and gator lake part of the State Park or outside the park? Thanks for sharing. Dana

      @timetogo4533  Рік тому +1

      Yes, the pier and Gator Lake are within the State park. There is also a bayside pier. It’s a great park for bikes. There is also a jetty area nice for snorkeling in the warm months. We love to camp there!

    Is a permit needed? how long is the stay time does it have bathrooms and hot showers do you need reservations and how much. is it close to any restaurants ?

    • @timetogo4533
      @timetogo4533  Рік тому

      Reservations are required and must be made online: www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/st-andrews-state-park. The campground has bathhouses with restrooms and hot showers. The park is located in Panama City Beach, with numerous restaurants and grocery stores within a few miles.

    Are dogs allowed on the beaches in Florida?

    • @timetogo4533
      @timetogo4533  5 місяців тому +1

      There is a designated dog beach by the pier at Pier Park. It’s about 12 miles west of the state park. I’ve seen dogs on the bayside of the state park, but I don’t know if they are actually allowed to be there.

    Well I guess I have to disagree with all the raves. They destroyed this park with their updating. It use to be a lovely place to go camp. You were in nature. Now it is anything but a parking lot.

    • @timetogo4533
      @timetogo4533  10 місяців тому

      It is definitely a different place. Hurricane Michael totally destroyed the trees.

    As a Florida tax payer , looking at this campground makes me mad , that they dumped millions to turn a state park campground into a glorified RV park, where's the nature in this bulldozed nature preserve ?

    • @timetogo4533
      @timetogo4533  8 місяців тому

      It's sad that it is quite different than it used to be for sure, but Hurricane Michael took most of the pine trees in 2018. The back loops away from the water have a lot more trees.
