Tips And Comments:
- Playing Technique:
Played next to the neck pickup with high strength. Just bridge pickup activated. Played with a pick
- Gear Sound:
Added overdrive and high mid frequencies. Some bass freq too. Getting new strings might help get the sound, i need new strings
- About The Song:
The palm muting in some parts is not a very aggressive muting, just a slight touch to dim the sound a little bit. I used some live recordings to get the idea, probably not 100% accurate. I hope you like it! Rip Lemmy, this is my tribute

This video shows how Lemmy's bass style explained why Motorhead always sounded so GIGANTIC for a trio; those massive bass guitar chords just filled up a lot of the low-end and mid-range.
Yousseff Imani They were a trio for their first 9 years of existence, although they changed guitarists and drummers after their first album. That classic lineup of Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke, and Philthy Animal Taylor recorded the band’s most celebrated albums: Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist, and the legendary live album No Sleep Til Hammersmith. They had a LOT of lineup changes during their many years of existence with Lemmy as the only constant member.
they were a four piece (technically) at some point in the 80's but usually just trios

Hiya, what's the make of the bass your using, thanks
you know a man is crazy when he plays power chords on bass. Legend lemmy rest in peace
😂👌

-Lemmy
"If you have gout, you drink too much" -Lemmy's doctor
Lemmy... the only rythme guitarist that plays only bass
He also played acoustic
Ayy lmao
Rythm Bassist?
Peter Hook
Lou Barlow has a similar style too
The tapping of the left leg is missing in the tabs.
Hahaha. Right?!?!
Lol
I was going to ask where the Jack and Coke goes in the song. But hey we sure do have spirit!
@@crookkedd313 lool nice!

lemmy was really unique. great bass tone, interesting basslines, vocals that are recognized immediately and terrific lyrics. a genius.
Terrific alright.
"Jailbait"
@@Truth_Hurts_Bad the fact that he called it „jailbait“ made typical lyrics of that time and area much better.
@@andreasdeutinger7319 I love you like a reptile, man. Snakes eyes watchin' you, always.
@@Truth_Hurts_Bad most rock folk wrote a bunch of songs like that but thing is that Lemmy is far from that depiction of pedophilia, i like to look at it as a sort of perspective he has on it, kinda like gangsta rap. None of them are gangstas but they write rhymes about dealing coke and violence
Playing chords on the bass is probably what gave them a heavier sound
He would also overdrive the amp for his bass to which gave it this sound
Yup, his style covered the bottom and mid range.
Damn, that is probably one of the nastiest bass tones I've ever heard! hell yeah!
And we all fuckin love it!
maybe not the hardest song to play on bass but definitely super super fun to play.. im mostly a Metallica fan and this made me gain a whole lotta respect to Lemmy
Actually thought I'm having so much fun playing it
Lemmy: Mom, can I get a bass guitar?
Mom: To use fingerstyle and slap?
Lemmy: yeeeeeees...
*Actually grabs a pick like a boss*
*Chord time*
I just picture kid Lemmy with the pirate-esque hat and the same facial hair and voice 🤣
Rip Lemmy. To me he was the greatest I thank you for taking your time to show respect by playing one his best songs I appreciate you for that
I guess this song goes to hard for me, half way through both my nostrils started gushing blood. Thanks Lemmy for releasing my inner rock
Your face was melting from inside out
Close your EYES. Don't look directly at the mole!
"Africa"AHAGAHGAGAGAGA I'M DONE!
I think you bump ur head from headbanging
U might want to get that checked out cheif

I remember some years back while playing tonyhawk games was where I first heard this amazing song and it introduced me to rock and metal etc, genres that I had never even heard of before..... good times.
Same happened to me bro
anxiety thps3, indeed I remember the good times
I got into rock and metal from tony hawks undergroundd as well
anxiety
I remember playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1-3 that came out on dreamcast and ps1 it had so many good bands on it...Goldfinger, Dead Kennedies, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, RHCP. Between that game and guitar hero, they probably played a big role in why I picked up guitar and it stayed with me
THPS always had the best soundtracks.
It's funny the fact that the band just never needed a rythm guitarrist, this guy was THE BASSIST. Lemmy God.
Motorhead - Hellraiser, please!
No good cover on UA-cam.
Gabelu I want the same thing!

The dictionary definition of bad ass. And that is possibly one of the best bass tones I've ever heard. Hell to the Yeah.
A pattern to follow. GREAT JOB. Thank you. RIP Lemmy. If such good guitarists would play Lemmy's songs, rock'n'roll will never die.
He was a great man and musician. I even named my son after him.
woooow :O is he really plays a power chords on a bass?!? :O
yep thats Lem
It's a thing my friend!
It's kind of common I think
+CoverSolutions Lemmy would be proud, excellently amazing job
For the longest time I thought most of that song was played with a guitar in that opening. Lemmy is surely a awesome bassist. May that man Rest in Power. Makes me wanna pick the bass up again.
Lemmy was such a good bassist, amazing he could do that stuff whilst also singing and performing
this isn't hard at all lol
Thank you
This video is probably the best exemple of why so many people fail at getting how simple songs can be so BADLY butchered by randoms. You did an amazing job!
Spirit and sound are perfect 😀😀
Who else gets hyper when that bass line starts
sometimes it comes on MTV during headbangers ball and i will start screaming
No other song can make a beginner bass guitarist feel more badass than successfully learning this song on bass!!!
That bass line is brutal!
Caralho que timbre maravilhoso deste baixo !!! 😱😱😱
Hey who's better, Lemmy or God? Trick question Lemmy is God.
+Brohann Sebastian Bach beautiful reference sir.. just thinking that one myself
Brohann Sebastian Bach no god is god so shut up

I fucking love that bass tone. RIP LEMMY!
I played this video all the time in middle school because all the official vids were blocked. I salute you.
Oh yeah, and THIS WAS PART OF YOUR PLAN, RICHTOFEN?
I would not recommend trying to play this baseline fingerstyle.
“You can’t tell me what to do!”
-Famous last words of finger-plucker me
I tried... It kills ur fingers if u haven't played in a long time! I play more guitar than bass so my hands not as used anymore and it killed hahaha
Challenge Accepted, now i just need to wait until my fingers are healed since last time i accepted this challenge, i accidentally filed them down to the knuckle on the first verse
I really enjoyed this video, its well done, and since Motörhead is centered on Lemy's vocals and bass it nice to hear and see the detail so clearly.
crazy cover! awesome job man
Lemmy"s bass was rhythm guitar as well , along with Philthy Phil realy made it a punk /metal sound never hear before ! and never duplicated since !
NICE PLAYIN MAN!!!!!! Nice choice of a song. Tribute for Lemmy 🙏

Who ever thumbed this down needs their thumb to be broken. Excellent job on the cover..R.I.P. Sir Kilmister
Sheeedd this is the first time I see doing power chords on the bass lol, didn't know this is how it's played!
"The Call Of Ktulu"
This is some badass shit! Lemmy was a great innovator on the bass definitely had his own style!
R.I.P Lemmy and my hands
Clear sound. Greatness.
Wow you don't even need the E string for this song. Good job man.
Clicking "like" for the effort and appreciation.
I can't play anything or care if tis guy is off. He gets a like.
I had no idea that Lemmy played chords. I've never actually heard of a band that does that. So rad!
Steve Harris of Iron Maiden also plays power chords in quite a lot of songs.
Check his cover of sober by tool

The genius of Lemmy. Nice post!
noob question, but what do the lines below the tabs mean? the I_I thing? and what does the swing from the 7 mean, just before it changes from 7 to an 5
lines are rhytmic figures. Half notes, quarter notes, 8th notes etc. And i think you refer to the ties. Those are for extending duration of notes more than it's value
oh, is there some in depth explanation to this anywhere? im still learning to read notes and some things are confusing
thanks man :D seriously, explains it perfect and simple
Just learn the basic theory of music. Do some solfeggio. There are some good books that explain everything in details on the internet.
By playing bass like a guitar lemmy became one of the most original bassists ever
That. Was. Brilliant. Thank you for posting!!!
Sounds fantastic, congrats and thanks for sharing
awesome, Lemmy would be proud of you
I think that it is d sharp rather than e. But still cool cover!
+Alpcan Aras He is tuned half a step down
Good idea
+Alpcan Aras I think it might be in E and maybe they tune down a half step down in concert, I'm not entirely sure
Andrew Pappas I think they tune it down. Because E just doesn't sounds right.
Alpcan Aras Yeah, probably
Indeed he played it like a bass
...not sure what's up with the dislikes....imma top shelf musician...i say that only to make this point ....this guy nails every tune he covers......all you haters relax....
Blows Rocksmiths version away....great cover
Great tone. Didn't realize Lemme played chords!
Hell yeah! Great job. Motörhead rules. Rest in peace Lemmy
I can't wait to make more money and finally become a patron. This channel is one of the best.
