Did anyone see that coming? Texas looking scary. Skinner looking like the best player in the sport. Emma Halter playing the game of her life. Toughest team in the game looked helpless to stop a team that caught fire. And no one thought TX had it in em this year. WOW

We can rely on several ppl to win whereas you can only rely on skinner and o’Neal to win. The only reason Nebraska beat Wisonsin is because they didn’t have Smrek once she returned Wisconsin spanked Nebraska just like we are going to! You clearly don’t know volleyball because no one on their court can touch anyone on Texas court! They haven’t faced a physical team like Texas just like Wisconsin which is why the game went how it did! All we gotta do is get them out of system! They are a young team and get frustrated and have attitudes! We can definitely contain them they aren’t unbeatable just like Wisconsin wasn’t! This game just proves that THIS 👏🏾 IS 👏🏾 ANYONE’S 👏🏾 GAME! Wisconsin has the physicality and the block but Texas was able to adjust and run a 5-1 rotation and their style of volleyball. It is going to be exciting to see Nebraska vs. Texas on the big stage. So glad that this sport is gaining attention and the players keep elevating ❤

Molly Phillips underrated . Madison Skinner is unreal. Texas adjusts better than any team I have ever seen, and i have been watching college Volleyball for over 20 years. Asia overcame two open heart surgeries, was told she would never be able to play volleyball again. Don't know if Texas can win back to back national championships, but I'm not betting against them !!

These commentators are really awful in their blatant narration of falsehoods, disguised as "stats". Also, the play-by-play lady just screams a lot. Last year, she was spewing that same garbage when we played Louisville, wanting the "first woman coach" to win the tourney so badly, even though Elliot was the more accomplished coach. They kept mentioning her name after every point, and the whole thing backfired so spectacularly!
I knew I wasn't the 1st to comment this.. I heard it Live and immediately shouted this correction.

Texas back to back champs, Nebraska can't hang with them.
Wisconsin's defense was definitely lacking. Texas serving Sarah Franklin was the key factor to them getting ahead. Wisconsin's DS and Libero should have been subbed out along with Sarah Franklin. They did terrible. Texas had the better match.
Texas has the better team out on the court. Your phrasing seems to suggest a fluke. Like Texas was lucky. No such thing. Texas was a beast. They had Wisconsin on the run. They beat 2 number 1 seeds on the road to the championship game.

I wondered why Wisconsin did not sub out more during that run but then I realized Wisconsin runs a 6-2 where both setters only play 3 rotations and Franklin is the only 6 rotation player. This means Wisconsin uses a lot of substitutions; they run the risk of running out of substitutions later in the set. They could only substitute only when necessary. For set 4, they might have subbed out players in the starting lineup but not easily in set 3.
Wisconsin definitely did not play their game today…but what do you expect when you rely on 1 or 2 ppl to get it done. Franklin did not show up and should be out of POY talk. It’s all beason and skinner now. The Wisconsin middles were terrible. The defense was terrible. Halter had an unbelievable game. Her and skinner carried. Skinner honestly deserves POY. She is the sole reason Texas is where they are. Gonna be a fun final. GBR
They served to Franklin constantly and tired her out - that was their strategy and it worked.
I agree with most of what you said but we have to stop this narrative about Skinner being the sole reason Texas is here; it is just a regurgitation of the quasi-factual utterances by the announcers! Madi is a favorite player, but O'Neal is just as important if not more so, especially in games like today. Madi is the reason why Texas is here more than anyone else, but not the sole reason; she is Texas' best player, this is true. She has improved so tremendously and she has a great all-around game for sure. But O'Neal and Halter have been equally spectacular!
Kudos to Nebraska, they are extremely good with almost no weakness!
@@G--MannI agree that O’Neal is a great middle but skinner has dropped around 20 plus kills almost all tournament. She takes a HUGE load and scores on almost all the big plays.

All I can say is "WOW". I was so excited last year when the Lady Longhorns won the championship, and it's so rare for any team in any sport to repeat, so I had my doubts about this season, until the season was nearing its end and then it seemed the ladies caught fire and smelled blood. Now, with the championship one game away, they can almost literally "taste blood." Me too😅. Let's Go Lady Longhorns...woooohooooo HookEm ❤
The first two sets signaled it might go to five sets as both teams were close. But I did not expect Texas to take full control in the last two sets against Wisconsin. The Badgers looked like they had no answers to the Texas serve.
That rally beginning at 3:07 was incredible! Texas looks very scary and well prepared. They dominated and will be a force. Looking forward to the final on Sunday. Neb v Tex will be a good matchup to showcase volleyball on the national stage and bring in casual sports fans to see what an exciting sport this is to watch! Can’t wait!

I knew Texas would win! If you follow volleyball you’d know Wisconsin hasn’t faced a physical team like Texas all season long & once you put them on the move they are out of system with little recovery! They tried to kick us while we were down and having to replace our first second & third contact is crucial for a season let alone a run in the post season but it clicked! Wennas showed up for us also! Phillips did her thang she always show up in the post season! Emma had the game of her life! O’Neal and Skinner can’t be stopped! Impressive performance ladies

This year is the first time I don't care which team wins the tourney. Both Texas and Nebraska are good teams but - imo - Wisc and Pitt didn't show up to win their respective matches. It's utterly sad for both losing teams. because
You can sit here and convince yourself that these two did not show up, as if the teams that beat them are not capable of beating them. If anything, Nebraska has shown all year how great they are and Texas has, too. Additionally, Texas is the defending champion so I don't get why/how you think that them showing up would have necessarily made a difference.
as bored as I am of texas and nebraska being in the national championship, god i really love all of the teams in the final 4!! Wisconsin is such an impressive and tough team. Jarret elliot just has created a championship mentality program!!!! So impressive. as a purdue vb fan, I’m just excited to see the powerhouses go toe to toe on Saturday 🤩🤩

Wisconsin serve receive was the worst I've seen in a long time. Shanking balls into the stands that should have been 2 passes. Texas served very well, but wisc receive made them look like Nishida was bombing jump serves at them. Zero adjustment from Sheffield...sad.

GG (Gulce) needs to lose her spot on the court, period. She was a huge part of the reason why Wisconsin lost last year, too. Julia Orzol is not a libero and she’s not an efficient hitter. She makes a good few defensive plays and that’s it. GG losing her libero spot to a 6’0 outside hitter says enough.

Yup! The difference in this match was 100% back row play. Wisconsin fell completely apart though after losing the 2nd challenge.

I saw it live and I could not believe it. Texas found Wisconsin's kryptonite and repeatedly exploited it by serving the spot between OH Franklin and DS/L Guctekin. I have not been following Wisconsin but their libero this year (Orzol) was an OH last year as they lost their libero to graduation. However she was better than the other L and DS players apparently. Normally when the pass receive is struggling, there is a substitution or a change in the receiving formation. Wisconsin only subbed very late after many points had been scored. Whatever Wisconsin did in their formation, it was not enough to keep Texas from going on a 10-0 run early in set 3. After that Wisconsin was never in set 3.
Beating Stanford wasn't impressive enough? Wow, the way they beat Wisconsin ......I have no words. After seeing Nebraska played, it's going to be a match of the ages. Madi Skinner has to be this year's POY. National Championship match has to go 5 games. I will not accept anything less.

I can see Texas winning it all. Nebraska has the same flaws as Wisconsin, they dont go middle enough, slow tempo and if their serve-recieve is off they have a hard time.
This game was won because wisconsin is not used to defending against the slide of O'neal. Maybe they haven't seen enough in their gym because they don't have a middle that go hit a slide attack. You'll see how many times booth got fooled by o'neal and thus opening a big gap for skinner from the backrow. I can say that nebraska can go against texas pretty well. If there is something you'll know about nebraska is they play a good defensive effort specifically against the team they playing. They will definitely seal the line that skinner hits in this game from time to time.
And to say that nebraska's offense is slow, you cannot really say that if texas' is just as slow or if not slower than nebraska's.
@mikeljasonallas1860 I think it'll be a good final. They have about the same tempo which I noticed is just overall slow in women's college. I don't get it.
Nebraska has very few flaws, if any. Thats why they are 33-1 and 15-1 in sets throughout the tourney!

They served Guctekin and Franklin all night and aced Guctekin off the court set 3, not sure her libero skills were the reason Wisconsin lost

Bruh Wisconsin could have used those players for their football team. Monsters.
Wisconsin didn't adjust to the situation, kept on playing the same ol playbook. Same problem for the past few years: service error, serve receive. If you can't receive, you can't set, you can't set, you can't spike/attack. Got intimidated, kept on serving out. I put the setter(s) to blame as well. Sets are too conservative, nothing creative, resulted in predictable attack which is easy to defend. Look at Swindle, she sets the ball everywhere, including her own dunks, this makes hard to defend. Then on blocking Skinner .... you know she's gonna spike, she runs all over and the set will get to her for the kill. Why didn't coach assign a frontline just to follow her? No need to guessing where to block based on the play developing, they've already given you the answer ..... Skinner, so why not just follow her?
There's no reason Franklin got blocked so many times, and many times reluctant to spike, had to settle for tipping. If you wonder why, then a) they are blocking her too good. b) sets are not there for clean spike.
When players looked numb, it's time to sub them out. No spark from the Badgers, just look and react, lost the aggressiveness. Can't win like that.
Texas is a well coached team. Wish them luck but I think Nebraska will win, based on a more balanced team. They will stick to Skinner just like they had a blocker for Rettke two years ago. Of course, Rettke is impossible to stop and setter was smart enough to alternate the sets for different spikers.
Enough of that, thanks Lady Badgers, what a wonderful season.

3:07 told me that Texas is winning the game against Wisconsin and they did. For Texas to take those hits and be able to defend all those balls coming on their court would have easily taken down any team, and that is not something any team can defend against.

I don't know.........Texas looked good here, but.......I think Nebraska wins it all.........keep in mind, I'm not a fan of either team, just a VB fan.......I think Nebraska is more athletic than this team....don't get me wrong, it will not be an easy match, but I believe Nebraska has the better defensive and back row play........Texas has some nasty hitters, but if you can't get the ball to them...well....good luck with that.....anyway, should be an exciting championship! .........

Nebraska’s team has an attitude when they are out of system which will be a factor! All it takes is to get them out of system and we can pull it! I am not a fan of either team, but Wisconsin looked markedly different from their previous games in the tournament. Of course, Texas had something to do with that, but the Badgers simply did not play their usual superb game. Were they over-confident? Or simply tired? I don't know. They seemed to lack energy and focus, especially on defense. There is more to this story than we know at this time. Texas did not beat the Wisconsin team I saw play Oregon earlier in the tournament.
This was probably the MOST disappointing semi-final I've seen in a looooong time. How can Wisconsin's performance be explained?? I'm here thinking of all sorts of conspiracy theories about why they did bad bc I cannot fathom the fact that they just blatantly did shitty! It was SO uncharacteristic of them to perform like that. I will give Thomas-Ailara and Smrek for showing passion but omg, that was ridiculous to watch. Imagine being there in person! The silence of the crowd must've been deafening. What a disappointment! When Texas won, it was so anticlimactic. Congrats to the Longhorns, I am rooting for yall in the finals. Hopefully yall don't show up like Wisconsin did.
