How about this people, how about before you give a thumbs down dislike, you try writing an original song and have the guts to make a video where you play and sing as well as these artists, put yourself out there, all the way out there. If you actually listen you’ll here a story of someone’s life, this guy is amazing and deserves all of our praise. Great writing and playing John ! Keep it up
It was days-on-end in a minivan It was looking for an X on the map Long nights shaking in a stranger's house With a bottle in my lap Running from the deafening sound Of a future with no one around From Barcelona to Vestal's Gap And I've spent countless hours walking, I never did like single file Praying to some vague set of eyes that it's only for a while Now I kneel before the only things I know This set of keys, and I-told-you-so's That someday it'll be worth the miles It was cigarettes outside an empty bar On a dark December morning Months of bad food and a pauper's guitar Never heeding any warning I've had friends and I've let my friends down Lookin for my heart in the lost-and-found Bare hands trying to stop the rain from pouring And I've been gaining on the crack of dawn, with glass eyes and a smile Praying St. Faustina please, let me go out in style I'll never know how far it goes Til the devil reaps what I have sown Til then, I'm gonna feel every mile
This song is absolutely incredible. The story he creates with these words put me down a rabbit hole about St. Faustina and Divine Mercy, and it resonates so much with me. I’ll never know how far it goes, until the devil reaps what I have sown, until then, I wanna feel every mile.
This is one of my fav songs rn. I bought the CD at the show and I've known it as #3 for months now Knowing what it's called makes it feel different. Like is it about the saint? Idk it's a lot to think about.
It was good, but it sounds more and more like Sturgill than it does a natural direction/progression of Childers. Which sucks, because country needs that voice right now, just like it needed Sturgill’s before he tried so hard to be different.
@@sevens8954 I love Sturgills first 2 albums, they're just amazing, I like tyler too but I agree with this comment. Purgatory sounded horrible, the mixing was terrible.
There has never been a song more important to me than this one.
Me too man, I feel it in my soul

This song put me on the other side of Canada, to florida and then to Mexico. Absolutely lovely
This is so good. From the middle of the night in Ireland.
This song hits differently once the bad times are over.. it was worth it.

On the River Banks of St. Regis Montana, relaxing, enjoying the tunes of John R. Miller. What a treat.
Damn he’s got some John Prine in him. Great storytelling
“Let me go out in style” 😮💨
How is this recording five years old already? So good

This is some darn good shit, just as I expected.

My favorite.
Whens the next show and where is it?
First comment! Loved this song! Sharing.
Love JRM. Also a big fan of Jeremy Lamb! Never thought I'd see the two in the same comment section 😂
This is great
Good old country.
Can't wait for this song to get pressed to wax someday. Until then I'm gonna feel every mile.
Where can I buy this?
I really prefer the solo version he did. The audio isn't as good but it's eerily beautiful.
well, he'll be famous by 2020 thats for sure
He deserves it
2020 really crashed and burned
Gems on vhs brought me here and here i stayed
Tyler Childers brought me here
Same! 🤘🔥
West By God brought me here.
Same manager
UA-cam search bar brought me here when I typed the title in
God or someone bless them.
I wanna hear Sturgill Simpson produce his next album.
Sturgill ruins the sound of every musician he gets behind. Including himself.
@@sevens8954 I thought Purgatory was a good natural progression for Tyler Childers, he worked on that. Do you disagree with that example?

You should hear what he has to say about his first 2 records in the Savingcountrymusic article.
How did 18 people down vote this?
