@@ThePiroMonster He skipped through most of the fight so I can't tell whether darkness played mind control already yet, but it still could've been mind control. From my experience the boss AI only plays mind control under a set number of conditions such as how big the minion is, and those conditions don't change even if they're going to lose and they're floating 10 mana.
This is the way, darkness was a pain to beat as priest and it was always due to it saving mind control for large targets so you had to have a way of either taking it back or removing it without losing too much tempo
@@MCY112 Correct. The boss may not decide to mind control Wax rager, because of its 1 hp stat, even if the deathrattle is good, the boss can't actually determine this.
All of the kabal faction is very challenging due to there over reliance on spells making them easily countered by the anti magic bosses. Warlock can go demon and win with captured flag pretty easily. But priest and mage our insanely reliant on luck the only way I was able to win with priest was using double deathrattle to spawn endless wax golems.
@@A12C4 the troll summoner is terrible especially his upgraded form where he gets to a draw a card and discount it to zero everytime you cast a spell. And the counterspell lady isn't terrible until the late game where she uses it to drain your resources dry.
I mean I but the one Trogg boss with Spell Shaman by making him deck out and fatigue. Reducing spell cost and evolve used to be an instant win against him as early as turn 3
Any class that can make use of the double all battlecry/deathrattle treasure are inherently powerful in dungeon run. Priest notably has a good deathrattle/reborn theme which if you can get enough buckets of + the deathrattle treasure it’s and easy win.
yeah, deathrattle priest was the first thing that came to my mind. After all, it was kinda good even in standard at the time. It had summon 4, summon 1 out of 3, summon 1 minion that died. Loads of cool cards that can help survive etc

I did it in two tries... built Hazakus priest, upgraded hero power, final boss was Togwaggle, I crawled into fatigue, he had 2 candles, my lucky was I managed to burn them, my 2 Kazukus potions helped a lot, and a random WISH I got from treasure room summoned a Putricide, who gave me a 2 random cards potion, into Simphony of Sins into winning the game...
My greatest achievement in Hearthstone to this day is getting a Rod of Roasting OTK working on rogue, after approx. 200 attempts. Because of that though I've grown to hate the rogue starting deck with a passion and would be my pick for the worst class in Dungeon Run by a mile.
Back during the challenge I almost cleared all classes 1st try except the last one was paladin and I ran into the boss that whirlwinds your board constantly.
It still exists; it’s under “Modes” and then “Solo Adventures”. This particular one is under Kobolds & Catacombs, but Dalaran Heist and Tombs of Terror also exist and are probably better. Pick a new bucket after every even and a new constant bonus (or treasure) every odd boss. The latter ones also introduced the Inn, where you could get more cards or remove cards.
Funny. I've managed to beat Dungeon Run with Priest pretty easily, but the hardest was Druid. It took me a few DAYS of constant attempts, more than 20 in total. Warrior was hard but not that hard, other classes were easy.
Druid is nuts if you have double battlecry + double Deathrattle and Jade Golems, the problem is if you face a boss that burns your win condition like the one who burns 3 cards each turn, that way you can't possible win most times
Huh, funnily enough, Druid was my first ever win (and I absolutely suck at the game). Got pretty lucky with a weird mix of Big (with the quest) and Jade, with Scepter and Flag. The only other classes I cleared it were Hunter and Warlock

I'm mostly playing solo adventures and currently trying to do all parts of E.V.I.L. with all classes. If you add 3 extra Chtuns to your deck with Bob - only the original gets the Chtun buffs :(
I spent so may hours trying to win with priest way back in the day. A couple months ago I wanted to try some dungeon runs, so I played priest, and I finally managed it with a C'thun deck.
@@Mate_00 i remember people saying warrior was the worst back during kobolds. brian kibler made a video about it where he went like "warrior is the hardest, huh?" and then rolled it with a stupid enrage aggro deck, iirc. dunno how it's now with balance changes since then, but i can kind of see people struggling with priest because the only obvious archetype it gets is c'thun, which is a bit hard to win with, in my experience. if you build control over c'thun it's not too bad, i think.

I've got 67 bosses defeated and 1 completion with priest but tbh I have no idea how many times i retried priest after winning because it took me like 10-12 hours in 2 days to beat them all, get my prize and stop touching candle... (160/2 stats on hunter, I think it was the hardest class for me)

I've only completed Dungeon Run with two classes... first with Mage and then with Rogue. I always thought Priest would be easier than the other remaining but perhaps I'm wrong. Could never remain alive long enough for warlock but maybe I had the wrong instincts.
I have found it near impossible to get any synergy going with priest. The only one that i can continuously get is dragons. Every time i take double deathrattle i proceed to not get a single death rattle bucket the rest of the run. If i take spell reduction all i get are minions. If i take 5+ =5 i get small minions. I never see half of the treasures i know are in the game. I can pretty much guess at this point what 7/8 boss will show up and counter what little i have going for me. The bests runs i get going end at the final boss with me starting with the most expensive cards in my deck only to mulligan to the same high cost shit. With my luck i cannot beat priest again. I remember it being easy af on release but its impossible now
He underestimates how good cloak of invisibility is in dungeon run. I remember having multiple runs where i wouldn't pick it simply cus it wasnt as fun winning that way, although 100% stealth is super broken.
I only won with Priest due to Togwaggle's AI dying in the last fight: he just wouldn't play any cards Good thing to, cause my last 2 card buckets, each of the three options contained, at minimum, 2 lightbombs Edit: Easiest for me was Rogue. Won going Jade on my first try. Easiest Final Boss win overall was Paladin, since I assembled the blade and got double Health Potion. Darkness CANNOT beat you unless you brick hard if you have 200 HP

Priest was the easiest by far, at least back then. Mostly because of how much mana cheating you could do, both C'thun or giants... the same trick worked with druid, basically.
Warrior is absolutely more difficult. None of them are even remotely "hard", but I'd say warrior is easily harder than priest. Warlock can be tough too because it has control shit and zoo shit in roughly equal supply, so depending on what kind of selections it gives you for adding cards to your deck, it can be difficult to maintain something coherent sometimes. Even then, a lot of that can be subverted by picking treasures that are just universally useful, i.e. glyph of warding. Idk man. Priest was the second class I beat it with back in the day, and I've done it several times since. I really don't think it's particularly difficult (or even just more difficult than the other classes).

The glyph he had was "Your spells cost (1) less.", not to increase his opponent's spells by 1, so those last two cards must have been something else

Cthun priest with any of the manacheat, defensive, or draw cards clears, EASILY.
I won with mage by cheating the giants with the treasure that all your minions cost 5 and had cards that copied the giants lol

Druid in the Dalaran Heist dungeon runs is abysmal to play. That's the one I struggle with the most.

No wonder the Kobolds dont want you to take their candles. The darkness is not to be triffled with.

Omg dungeon runs are legit the thing i miss the most in modern hearthstone. Book or heroes etc were soooo boring while the runs were goddamn fire

Rogue, for whatever reason I could not beat (until recently). Got to 145 runs before beating it
