If you are wondering if you should watch this series the answer is YES. I just discovered it in 2023 and enjoyed it very much. The 5 main actors do a great job!!! Thanks especially to the crew doing the subtitles for us. Love Dugu the most!!!!!🔥❤️😊

I looked at this and I was like.....what the hey? Why is the general kissing another woman! His wife is going to be furious!!!! I think I'm going to feel a little uneasy watching him with another woman for a little bit. The General's Lady is a classic and will always be my favorite drama. But I will try and be open minded to enjoying the drama by these hard working actors. :) Nice to see him again. He is such a talented actor. :)

I feel sorry for Dieyi's father: to see your child's coffin be put to rest without being able to follow it but having to pretend she isn't dead. He has to pretend it's a happy day while in reality it's a nightmare for him. So sad 😥😥😥😥

Happy ending!! (FYI)
I really enjoyed this lighthearted drama. No dark or heavy storylines. The 5 scholars were wonderful to watch, their friendships, loyalty and staying together through thick and thin. It’s not heavy on the romance but that’s okay because this is more of a buddies “romance”- LOL. The main couple are good together and enjoyable to watch.
I recommend this if you just want to sit back and enjoy a show.

Review of drama: A light, calm, and entertaining school romance story with a historical Chinese twist. The beginning episode is a little slow, but stick with it. The plot follows five students in the school, and explores their relationships with each other. They eventually become loyal friends who solve several cases, and even go to war together. Their unswerving friendship is refreshing and inspiring to watch. Also they don't all fight over the FL. By the end 4 out of 5 of them have their own girlfriends. Talented actors, great storylines, and beautiful scenery. There is no bloody violence, or vomiting blood.

I did not think General’s Lady was sad. It had such an interesting humorous ending. Also, for the most part,during most of the eps., it was a mixture of light humorous eps. Along with some drama. Things never got too intense or too sad.
