#1. They all think that I should be rich. If I'm not making $1000 off of every trade, I must be some kind of loser.
      2. I must be crazy for even doing this in the first place.
      3. They don't understand I am actually working. They see me sitting in my chair all day and assume Im not doing anything.
So they don't think they need to respect my time.

Thanks for all of the high quality videos! You are now my favorite day trading youtuber! I love your simple yet effective approach. Thank you for introducing me to the price action concept. I finally made good consistent profit this year. Up 75% YTD with 3 long trades and the rest short trades this year. I have been using the 9 and 20 ema, vwap, 50 100 200 sma, playing off fear and greed psychology. Looking forward to see where this leads me in a couple years.

Greetings, I am more of a swinger than a daybot. One summer (2002) I would move money back and forth between my 401k bond fund and my 401k stock fund. When the stocks declined I move money into them. When the stocks surged up I would move money out. That summer I moved money every 3-6 weeks. ... I doubled my 401k balance and the fund company started charging to rebalance! :). You make money when you move money

Thanks Shay, today I had 3 winners and a small loser. But unfortunately I have to return to work to fund my account further. Trading a 2k account brings on a lot emotional issues. I am working my way thru them with self recognition and discipline. Fear is still there to a lesser degree and what it is causing me to do is have a problem with my exits. leaving money on the table and giving back to much of my profit. These are all the mental things a day trader goes thru. There are 2 worlds a day trader lives in the " physical and emotional ". Since trading is 90% emotional you can see what needs the most work. I will day trade until I take my last breath. This is a lot of work but I really enjoy it and am making progress. Good book to read "The disciplined trader " by Mark Douglas he lays it out in a way it is easy to understand. Wayne from Boise, Idaho. Potatoes anyone?

Why don’t you open IBKR margin account? With 2K you can trade with more than 6K. But the catch is you have to be good so you don’t fall less than your 2K. I would say to be safe 3K is better

If you day trade futures in the States, profits are split 60/40, with 60% being counted as long term capital gains, and 40% as short term. So you get much better tax treatment trading futures over stocks.

Shay, many would like to day trade and are ready to but keep in mind in the USA you have to have a 25K balance to not be labeled a PDT on any platform and after 3 warnings you are canceled! We CANNOT use 5K and day trade! Not even 10K! We can only swing trade or Level 2 options. So please keep in mind and maybe do a series about this.

X day trader I made 40,000 USD 3 days a week and lost 8k when I went to the bathroom and bought Qualcomm on a downswing before going LoL. But I have permanent brain damage from an accident or actually a homicide temp that happened in a week on the floor with no food or water. So I'm out of the game. I used to be rich so it sucks. I could still probably do it at a slower pace. But what I'm thinking about is the AI eventually it's going to get into this go that route when the time comes. Mostly why I date rated in large sums of money was because I was addicted to the emotional ups and it was the best drug I could ever buy.😊

I’m a stock market investor not trader. But I worry about taxes because I trim positions to take profits or reorganize my portfolio. I make new buys but I sometimes sell or reduce when they are unprofitable so I can invest in a better stock. Is it ok to take profits (from a tax standpoint)? Because it sounds like the IRS wants taxes on everything sold. And if I use the cash to invest in another position that makes profits… well they’re just taxing me multiple times on the same money when I sell. It’s just a big game. I love investing, but I hate the IRS.

Disagree on it taking 6m - 1yr to become proficient on day trading. It's one of the hardest professions one can attempt to do well in and the stated measures failure rates of those who try are always well over 90%. It could very well take many years to achieve proficiency, if ever, so folks need to be sober minded about this weighing the costs and risks.
I know you referenced "minimum time", but that is like saying one can learn to be a brain surgeon in a "minimum" 2 years time- while that may be possible for a prodigy/genius, for the other 98% of the population, it's just not the case.
I think too many people are led astray thinking they have a shot at doing well in day trading in just a few months to a couple of years when the time is likely at least an order of magnitude higher.

The Au market isn't big by US standards, and the timeframe for trading being a market open of 11 or 12pm to trade the US Market is simply horrid to live with. I like the inof,, however I differ in this point, Take alot longer to learn than 2 hours a day for a year .. I think its literally all in for several yearsbefore you find your edge and become consistent

Would you say it's easier to just invest long term instead of short term at this time since the stock market is down so much?

Pardon for my beginner's question, but what is the reason for day traders having multiple screens in front of you? Does each screen show a different stock that you're invested in?

Yes in general. You shouldn’t trade multiple stocks honestly. Too much going on. Most of the indexes and their respective stocks move in a cyclical direction. Though there are outliers. Choose one stock. The more volatile the better. Perfect that one stock

I think you need to move to the UK with those tax rules. That's crazy.

Very interesting video. 2 important issues:
    1) Shay is the exception to the rule, I have never met a trader becoming consistently profitable in less than 3 years and the average is 7 years.
    2) After one gets good in day trading it is difficult to have the patience for investing. Hard to trust your money to others, hard to wait and wait, it is like seeing paint dry

Damn 7 years? I think 6 months to a year is definitely doable

@Jeremy-sr4gv dream on. You have to develop the competence to make money out of thin air. I don't remember where I have read it but to become competent in any demanding activity you need 10000hrs of practice. Find how you can compress this in a year

@@skipper63400 well I did it. I stopped being a travel nurse and dedicated all my working hours to trading. I’ve only traded 10 months

what to learn? that's the problem..... as traders, we know there is no playbook to trading...anyone selling courses on technical analysis, price action technical, etc. etc. are out there to make money from the course fees.. dont fall for them.... since 1929, people are trying ways to make money from trading, and there are no known sure proof methodology because human is the market....

Worst combo is people dabbling in day trading because they think they are smart.
