Applecross SHS World's Greatest Shave - Making a Difference for the Leukaemia Foundation

On Wednesday, the 22nd of March, Applecross Senior High School Senior School students participated in the World's Greatest Shave. There was an incredible lineup of Year 12s, and one brave year 11, shaving their heads, cutting and braiding their hair, and even waxing their legs to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. Many students from all years were keen to watch this awesome event and supplied a never-ending stream of support, encouragement, and respect felt by all partakers. A massive thank you to all those involved: participants, volunteers, Year 12 World's Greatest Shave committee, cheering crowd and donators. A huge shout out to our Chaplain Andy Saxton, who has organised this event for a number of years and has outdone himself! Thank you also to our volunteers and teachers who shaved heads and cut hair. The school surpassed our goal of $10000 by raising a total of over $23000! This couldn’t have been possible without the support of our school’s amazing community!
