nope, guts is an album that isnt focused on pop, the genre in that is all over the place, like rock, too many ballads, and etc. midnights in the other hand is more conclusive pop album.
also vocal pop album is not focused on whose album that have more belts singing. taylor can sing very well too. midnights is the most deserving album along with lana’s album in this category

In the official rules they say that it is only voted on based on the art. Not sales, tours, or outside forces. But because it is voted on by humans and many of the people there in Hollywood. I'm guessing a lot of people vote for their friends or for selfish reasons. It probably isn't a huge conspiracy that it's rigged, but I think people just refuse to vote for someone they don't like or if they have a rivalry with someone. Someone might refuse to vote for someone out of jealousy and decide to vote for someone else.

All of her previous albums of the year awards were for albums where she changed genre (well, apart from Fearless but that being a country album in the pop world of 2008 was special enough) and tried something new. Midnights was “just” another synth pop album and although it was good I didn’t think that shoe would win.
I’d be really interested in seeing how the votes were split and if it was a close call because I can totally see Lana, Olivia and boygenius all blocking each other from winning by competing for the same voters.
It was deserving for sure, but sza winning would've been better.

I watched the Grammys for the first and last time this year at this point it’s a suicide mission to release an album the same year as Taylor Swift which really sucks because it’s not even about the music anymore it’s about who’s the most commercial artist at that time. SOS and Ocean Blvd I think we’re stronger records overall and if Taylor was to release SOS or Ocean Blvd she still would have won album of the year. It’s sad that when I read the nominations I already knew who was going to win best pop album and album of the year. We need new and younger voting members tbh

Killer Mike completely deserves the album of the year. Killer Mike is an old school style rapper who won his first Grammy on a song with Outkast. Mike is an incredible lyricist and part of the best rap duo in the last 10 years run the jewels. Please look into him. He is much better than Travis. Utopia was mediocre and didn't have any human personality or meaning behind it. Killer Mike meets very meaningful and political rap at times.
If the magnitude of accolades did bring Midnights to win the AOTY, she deserves to win the award, it is what it is.

The rules of the Grammy say the voting should only be based on the art. However many people end up voting for their friends or against someone they don't like. Many of the people voting don't even listen to all the albums/songs.
You definitely have to listen to Victoria Monet! I discovered her some years ago when I found out she wrote songs for Ariana Grande ... but her own music is incredible also. She's an amazing singer, dancer and all round performer. Definitely listen to Jaguar I and II.

Killer Mike is an amazing rapper, he is part of the group run the jewels and they make incredible albums, I’d highly recommend listening to them
I'm really mad about Olivia and Lana being robbed, they deserved AT LEAST ONE award, GUTS was amazing and Ocean Blvd is probably the best album Lana has ever released, If Taylor hadn't won AOTY, I'd give it to Lana. Gracie Abrams deserved the best new artist award in my opinion. About Miley, I'm really happy, she ate last year. Anyway, disappointed but not surprised.
About Taylor's new album, it doesn't feel real yet, idk everything about it is really confusing to me but whatever, it'll pass. I have a feeling that is going to be really different from what she's done (I hope so), in any case I don't want to get crazy expectations for it.

SZA I think should have won because it had both but this year was literally amazing for Lana so Idek. I feel like the Grammys were so cruel for giving her so many nominations and having her win NONE.
