BTP, thanks so much for making all these great videos and providing the detailed information about HP, manufacturing and cost. It really is a treat to watch these productions. Your videos have replaced everything on TV with the exception of sports and now that is gone. So, keep them coming BTP. Looking forward to field prep, fertilizing and planting.
BTC have you been to Western KANSAS during the wheat harvest? The counties like Lane, Gove and Thomas have the big open fields. Castle Rock area in Gove county is impressive and beautiful too. A lot of open big country and fields. These are the high plains areas in Kansas. Thanks 😊
I just still dont get the emission requirements on this stuff... I quit in 1999,,, we had straight pipes on everything,,, sounded so awesome!!! and there are 1/4 of the farmers as then, just running larger and larger eq... like they need tier 4 final in agriculture... what is the point, theres no one left... and,,,, OMG I MISS THE SMELL OF ANHYDROUS IN THE MORNING!!!
Hey Jason could you at some point tell us more about the field mapping. For instance is the field mapped with each activity or is the data stored for that field for the season and used for each activity by any tractor/implement or combine for straight line guidance. Thank you for doing a great job!
Here is their formula. 120 lbs NH3, the farm spreads150lbs of ammonium sulfate and will get 30 lbs of N from that and will sidedress UAN for another 75 lbs of N. Yes stay tuned for the 4786 harrowing ahead of corn planters.
I like your videos I’m gonna become a farmer when I graduate thanks for teaching me I look up to you.You would make one heck of a farmer .I have questions-Why do farmers use GMO seeds and What are the names of the different fertilizers and herbicides or pesticides
Farm Life8812 There are many different types of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Farmers use GMOs to increase yields, increase disease resistance, and to help with better nutrition qualities in the plants.
If you want to learn the science side of things, I highly recommend checking out the UA-cam channel “AgPHD”. Lots of great information the Hefty brothers cover there.
When I farmed many years ago, we planned 1 bushel per pound of N . These new varieties must be more efficient with the nitrogen. Also how are they applying their P and K?

John Smith A Lot of it is just Broadcast. Strip Till or Deep Banding on The Same Spacings as Your Planter Row Units is More Efficient.
I am surprised the wheel tread widths on the trailers are the same front and back. Doesn't the wheel tracking compact the soil with both front and rear over the same track? And, even more so when pulling two trailers - four wheel passes over the same path.
Dave W my guess based off of our own farm is so he knows how far to pull out to the edge and not either overlap, unless it’s his plan to, or not go far enough and leave a spot not done.
He needs a bigger bar or take the stops out of the bar if he's pulling it 12mph. You can watch the bar bounce he's going so fast.A 500 should handle a 23 knife no problem
I would like to state that he is unsafely transporting anhydrous. 1. It is illegal to pull triples in Illinois, toolbar and two wagons is considered triples. 2. Hoses are still connected to the wagons during transport. 3. It is safe to assume that since he never got out to open the valves that he never closed them. I understand that it is farming and that every farmer tries to get things done in the field when they can, but please take the extra 30 seconds - 2 minute to safely prepare for transport. And if you must you 2 tanks instead of one, try using 2 tanks mounted on 1 running gear. Then you are no longer considered pulling triples.
Couple of things here. Yes the tanks were shut off. If you notice there is a screen right swipe between the tractor pulling in the field and taking off on the first pass. It took 5 minutes between pulling in and running. I cut that part of the video because most people would switch the video off waiting on the tank set up. The end of this video shows the tractor folding up and leaving the field. The tanks were switched off and secured before the DMI field up. He pulls out to head to the field just down the street. Interestingly some of this footage in the field was filmed in IL but pulling out in the road was basically going across the street which was in IN. Street being IN. No one in any way was in danger here. Super short trip and everything was locked down. If I showed all the extra steps that happen this would be a 25 min video. The video is about the tractor not how how NH3 works so I edited the video to feature the tractor.
Big tractor power do you know how they like/how long they have doing the ammonium sulfate I did some last year on a limited amount of acres and saw a nice return
In this case they had just pulled out of the field across the road and drove down to the next drive way. I did not show where the tanks were turned off and turned on. Plus this road was in Indiana. The fields were right on the state line. Half the video was filmed in IL and half in IN.
For a 1:40 second trip from one drive way to another drive way with no other traffic around I think it would take longer to re hook everything than to just basically move across the road.
Wow that’s a beast of a machine!!!!
yeah we have a 400 hp case 340 magnum wich we use for plowing parking lots and driveways with a 24 foot hla blade
yeah they make a great snow plow tractor too like our 400hp case 340 with 24foot hla blade wich is a big serious snowplowing tractors
Watching that big rascal roll through the field is like one of those "most relaxing" videos to me. Soooooo. Ahhhhhh.
Great to see some spring time action. Hi from the UK and keep up the good work.
That is a big tractor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🚜😃
👍👍
We just started planting our corn today in north Florida.
Nice to see a big red tractor doing spring tillage👍
😁👍👍
Right down the road from my house!
The work has begun!
Awesome power and coverage with this setup.
Thank you for watching.

He is really moving. The equipment works well together. That was fast
Keep bringing those wonderful videos in thanks Brad From Minnesota
Thats a nice setup
Love the Quad !!
Great video! A few farmers started planting their corn in my area today.
Good deal. It won’t be too long here. Just very wet this week.
Nice video & excellent combination!!
Dang you were near Montezuma? That’s a bit of a drive. My cousins sell their logs to Superior Hardwoods (part of Bailie) up there
What a beast,great video thanks.😎
Man i'd really like to see someone outfit some oldies with tracks like your IH or a 70 series JD or a BUD
I’ve seen a Steigernational on tracks but they were steel and it was a tile plow tractor

Enjoyed the video! I didn't know Dana was in eastern Illinois.
Right on the line. Started filming in an IL field and finished in IN.an field.
Nice red tractor, great video
Thank you Jan.

Quadtrack is best
😁👍👍
He wasn't going 12 mph. 12 was the gear number. Below the 12 was the speed, 10.2 mph.
great video Jason so they apply 375 lbs of NH3 total thats a lot hows your 4786 doing
Here is their formula. 120 lbs NH3, the farm spreads150lbs of ammonium sulfate and will get 30 lbs of N from that and will sidedress UAN for another 75 lbs of N. Yes stay tuned for the 4786 harrowing ahead of corn planters.
That tractor rides like car . Smooth!!!. If it ain't red leave it in the shed hahaha
😁👍👍
I was having trouble hearing the farmer talk. When I increase the volume you come blasting out of the speakers. Is there anyway you can fix that?

Cooool
Thank you for watching.
High speed smoke blower. Stay upwind.
Yes I am very very mindful of the wind when I film NH3. Which ever way the dust plows I stand on the other side.
@@bigtractorpower For sure, only takes one snootfull to learn that lesson.
@@kcgibbs yeah its like you step out in the cold after being in the warm air it takes your breath away for a little
How is your nose? I did a video along side of NH3 application, and I got dusted out
Why does he do the head lands first instead of last? Wouldn’t it reduce compaction going over it last?
Dave W my guess based off of our own farm is so he knows how far to pull out to the edge and not either overlap, unless it’s his plan to, or not go far enough and leave a spot not done.

How deep do the farmers usually put Nh3 ?
3 inches.
Must be a Birkeys customer

7:11 lots of air vents
The camera microphone pics up the air from everyone. 😁

How much horse power does the quad track have
I mention all the tractors specs in the video. It is 500 hp.
I have a tractor but not as big as that one
How many rows is he covering in a thru ?
19 shanks on 30 inch spacings
@@bigtractorpower Thanks BTP 👍

I think they like it. I hope to go back for corn planting. I will ask.
Thanks for the reply
What is the danger of falling asleep in these tractors?
No more than driving in a car. It could happen but not often.
You’ll hear a lot of beeping assuming you’re on auto guidance, it’s a hell of an alarm clock.
@@GeoffPeterson33 Thanks for the reply. Those monstrous machines could do tremendous, tragic damage.
At that price,
Big investment for big jobs.
If you all grew up in the 70's/80's you know how bad the ac and ventilation sucked then... hahahaha... terrible...
Looks like he ran over the flag marking his tile inlet around 13 minutes
It would seems he did. I watched him snag it as I was filming.
At 1.40 it’s against the law to go down the road with tanks hooked up in ILLINOIS 👈🏻👎🏻that’s a no no

Ok but not spose to be on roads with hoses hooked to bar at all just saying👌

Its even more illegal when they have the 2 tanks they can have the applicator and one tank but not two tanks
✌️✌️✌️
