    Mack, its very common in this business to get people who want to be 'traders', yet they want to be told what to do and how to do it. As you know, you could give some of these naysayers a perfectly good trading system, and odds are they still wouldn't be profitable, they just don't 'GET IT'. I'm in my third month of trading the ES live, and I've made the cost of the manual MANY times over. Thanks Mack, your insight as a professional trader is invaluable, god bless, from down under.

    Thanks Mack. I've traded live for more than 5 years with marginal success. It wasn't until I found your videos and listened to your advice that my trading improved remarkably. The past 7 months are my most successful ever. It's a true blessing to have you offer such valuable information for free. I'm on the Sim since last October 2012. If my trading continues it's current course I will be live sometime in August 2013.

I visit forums regularly, and there are a few very helpful people who go out of their way to help newer traders learn how to trade. They are attacked daily by the same people you referred to. I'm doing fine. Starting trading live last week of July. Just part-time since I still hold my full-time job. It's harder to trust the setups live with real money. I know it's just psychological but I'm gonna die from a thousand cuts if I don't over come it. I'll get there there. I can kill it on the simulator so it's just getting over the fear of pulling the trigger on the right trades every time and not getting shaken out.

    Hello mack. I've been trading Forex with price action. I been studying al brooks a lot and now theese vids. I think forex is ok. And what I've learned works just ok on forex. Becuase its so volatile and unpredictable. I tried what I knew on a 30 days demo with the e-mini Russel & S&P. Some times crude oil. I think it was easier. The markets seems "better".
    Can you reccomend some good stocks/futures? Dont really wanna pick between 5 thousand different ones.
    Keep up the good work.

    Would this brand of trading still be applicable trading under the 1m (for scalping)?

    • @PATsTrading
      @PATsTrading  5 років тому +1

      Yes, but you will find it very difficult and there will be too many failed trades at that level. If you have to use time based charts, 5 mins is more reasonable, but if you get good you can likely drop to 3 min charts. If you want to do this for a living, don't skip on your tools. It's like taking a knife fight to a gun battle. You can not be at a disadvantage and expect success. Get the proper tools.

    I do not see the so-called gaps. It opens at the same place where the last candle closed. There isn't a gap that I see.

  • @keen2461
    @keen2461 7 років тому

    Could somebody explain to me, or point me to a good source, about those "gaps". I don't see any gap where Mack talks about them on that chart. I wonder what a gap is for him. For me, a gap is a difference between the close price of a bar and the open price of the next bar. If there is a difference, that is a gap. Would be grateful if somebody could shed a light on the matter.

    • @PATsTrading
      @PATsTrading  7 років тому +4

      The issue here is you are only seeing me talking about these gaps from previous questions and where I pointed them out on previous charts. There are no actual gaps on this chart as they were all filled.
      What I'm talking about is where one bar closes on it's high and then the next bar opens on it's low or in reverse, one bar closes on it's low and then opens on it's very high, but the second bar does not back up and create any over lap between the two bars. Look at any chart and you will notice that probably 99% of all bars overlap one another. It's rare when there is no overlap between two side by side bars in the ES.
      Basically when I am talking gap here, I am insinuating that there is no over lap of two side by side bars. Notice on all of these examples, the prices back up again and the bars actually do over lap. Well, sometimes prices don't back up and there is no overlap of the bars. That is when you will have a small gap or no overlap really and that is what I am talking about in this video.

    I find that some of these older videos are better than the new ones. Thanks Mack
    You gotta be talking about Al Brooks. Just a guess. His stuff is very helpful for new traders. He does a better job than Mack does explaining how and why the market moves in measured legs and where the proper profit points are based on when smart traders are entering the market. Mack has a better trading strategy though. I don't like taking huge stops.

    Around 17:23 , what he calls 2nd-entry long trap could just as easily be called a 2nd-entry short. What these "2-legged pullback" cultists fail to grasp (or refuse to admit) is that EVERY sequence of 3 consecutive legs is a 2-legged pullback. Therefore, EVERY leg on the chart is the 2nd pullback of a 2-legged pullback.

    • @xshinnyshinx

      @@xshinnyshinx I can tell you're one of the 2-legged pullback cultists. No point in trying to reason with someone who belongs to a cult.

    • @BabySquidTrades
      @BabySquidTrades 3 роки тому

      @@herrickinman9303 you're right, that is also a 2nd entry short and you could justify a long trade there, however look to the left and you could see a double top and also see lower highs being made on the 2-legged move. This is a sign of a small down trend pullback forming. Also the previous bars from where the double top was made look a bit congestive which suggests to skip this trade as the pullbacks do not work as well in congestion (ranges). Context is important
