I tend to think of it as a "curated" wardrobe, like a curated museum collection - well planned, beautiful (to me), and selective. Refined, not boring :)
I just like too many styles so I find it difficult to find just one and stick to it. I like edgy for going out at night, minimalistic and sporty for everyday go-to outfits, and I love bohemian details too for going out during the day.
I'm gonna copy-paste what I wrote above, because think many people find it tricky when they like many styles all at once :-* I know this is maybe easier said than done, but having a curated closet also means practicing the art of limiting yourself. There are many things I like too, and that I could easily put in to my closet if I only let myself. But I have found, that the simplicity and the little effort I have to put into getting dressed is more important to me, than following all the types of style I like. That being said, you should do what YOU want
I agree. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe and I've gotten rid of so much already, but I can't seem to limit myself to the extent of one. I really love watching other people's process though -it's very inspiring. Maybe at another time in my life ill be more suited for it.
Over the past year I've been trying to figure out my style, and it has turned out to be the biggest challenge! I was feeling so frustrated until I watched this video. You really broke it down in very easy steps, and I am thankful for that you have no idea. Love your content! Xx
Very educational. I think my style is eclectic. Depending on the season, where I'm going & what I'm doing. Most times this means too much shopping and too much clothes. I'm working on finding at least one style. Cute dog.
Love this video!! I dress how I feel, what I am doing that day, the season, the weather, and what age appropriate. I also like to look expensive by accessorizing with sterling silver or gold jewelry. When I am going to music rehearsal, I don't like things like a scarf that will get caught on my guitar but like to look "cool". When I am going on a date, a dress or skirt is appropriate. I also like to use a quality purse that matches the style and color of my outfit. I have a Coach collection in every color that most have gotten on EBay. Cuffing my pants, and 1/2 shirt tuck always look like I am in fashion.
Love these tips! As I've followed your blog, utube videos, and Instagram posts over the last year, I have learned more and more how to define my style for my real life (not the "posing" life which is so often depicted in photos on social media or even in advertisements) and how to build a tightly edited wardrobe of items which I love, which I feel express my true self, and which I and feel comfortable wearing. I have also watched you grow in poise and professionalism, which is a joy to see and makes me so happy for you. Thank you for all your hard work, Signe---I see that 32,000 of us subscribers are appreciating it! Hugs, Tracey
Dear Tracey! Thanks for sticking around since day 1! I always enjoy reading your comments and messages, can't believe that I have made such awesome virtual friendships
I really love your video. It's easy to follow, and has a nice flow. I really like the visual - especially the camera work. Scanning over items feels so natural it almost feels like I'm using my own eyes to look at something. I also really like the variation of focus; depth of field. I thought it could only be done with still photography - but what a treat to see this done with video! I also really like the key words that show up quietly on screen in a nice, subtle font, size, and nice contrast to background. What you say is easy to follow and interesting, organized and balanced, but with the awesome video quality and composition - very high quality production! And the closing was really cute - to see Oscar playing with his toy in the background. So sweet! Your channel is a nice place to come visit. Thank you for your, and your team's, hard work.
I loved all the styles you showed for inspiration. I love the color purple but over the years I found my favorite colors to wear are deep orange and mustard. I have multiple items in those colors. they also go well with my favorite cheetah prints.
All of your videos are excellent but this one is SUPERB. So educational and straight forward. It makes me excited to start building my capsule wardrobe.
The more in-depth blogpost that goes with this video is up guys! if you want more tips on what looks flattering on your body type, go check it out right here: www.uselesswardrobe.dk/how-to-find-your-style-in-5-steps/
Where I live in northern Germany, it seems we also have "Scandinavian Weather" so your fashion tips also apply here. I noticed a handfull of people in the kaufhauf yesterday wearing the Levis T-shirt too. Made me think of your videos :)
Really enjoyed this video! The steps were really basic things to think about for setting up a minimalist wardrobe. I have watched similar videos and felt they were a little over the top. Thank you!
Thanks for your tips, I now have a much clear vision on what I want my style to be like and how I can achieve it! I think your examples on different styles were great. :)
Thanks for your beautiful, luminous videos (just like you!)! I'm just amazed when I look at your wardrobe because I truly wonder how you can wear lose-fitting, more masculine-cut, items, and at the same time you don't look thick around the waist. How do you achieve that?
Thank you Signe! I was looking for inspiration (I am terrible at style, really, I normally just cover myself with cloths) and I found it in your blog. Happy summer!
It's an excellent video, I loved how you built up the topics. It's logical and all the things you said make sense. 👍🏻😄❤️I like your style, too and your dog is absolutely adorable. 💝🌸🐶😍😘
New subscriber here 🧡 thank you so much, this was helpful, I have adhd and can find I get overwhelmed with my style so this was really helpful. Pinterest also helps me to define what I like 🧡
I love all your videos! This one in particular is important to me as I'm packing away to move to another country and I only want the bare essentials. I want to start with a clean slate :). Thanks for making it so easy to follow, Signe!
Thanks! I was teaching in South Korea for 2 years and now we're going back to Prague, Czech Republic, my husband's country. Let me know if you want to visit. :) It's a gorgeous city.
Hi Signe! I really appreciate your videos, they are very useful and they are supporting me in my journey through minimalism. What do you think about making a "What's in my bag video", of course a minimalist version!
Thank you so much for this video, I agree with others that it is the best video i've seen on this topic! I am at a confusing stage of my style since having my kids, i just dont know how to dress any more! Ill use your guidelines to try to define my style and help me build my capsule wardrobe. Thanks! Love from din granne Sverige :)
The word 'minimalism' is so tricky, as it means two different things that don't really even overlap. The specific, stripped down style and just owning less. For me it's very difficult to explain my interest in minimalism to others because I like elaborate, decorative items and clothing. I just try to get everything so it will still be good-looking for many years to come, so no trend-bound stuff. I started my minimalism journey in a home full of kitsch animals, plastic flowers and ethnic patterns. My wardrobe was the same, just wild. The point is, it's not ecological or minimalist to get rid of everything just to buy 'minimal' alternatives (plenty of bloggers do this).
I just discovered your channel and I'm absolutely in love with its content, your fashion sense and editing style. Already subscribed! :) Love from Brazil
Very nice and thought provoking... what would you consider to be flattering on women with thick thighs/saddle bags... uugghhh any tips would be greatly appreciated thank you. I actually just left your blog and I feel I am between an apple and pear shape, if that helps... thanks again
I have so many practical clothes! All the clothes that are no longer my style or aren't very good I keep to use at home. It's something I want to change, but I have a little difficulty...
some great tips there, i am currently sorting my clothes for my trip to DK to see my dad so will be using these tips, when i am there i would like to look in some danish clothing shops which are the best mid price range shops to look in ?
uuh, nice! Which city are you going to? You should definitely check out these danish/scandinavian shops: Cos, & Other Stories, Selected Femme, Samøe Samsøe, Designers Market, Moss Copenhagen, Gestuz, Second Female, ICHI, Just Female, Weekday.

I have a hard time figuring out my style and incorporating that into a capsule wardrobe because I like a little of all the style categories. Any suggestions?
40bdg Hi, I guess this is so true, since we are unique in our combinations of differnt personality characteristics. To express this, for example, you could match items to wear from differnt styles by colour. For example, if you would like romantic style, but want to stay classic, a black skirt with some small pleats at the hemline combined with a black simple shirt or T shirt, are perfect. if you like minimal too, you could choose footwear in that style. Visually, the colour can work to make the look cohesive. Another option is combining patterns of one style and the cut of another, like a floral printed bomberjacket. Maybe these examples were helpful?
40bdg I like them all as well. one thing that has really helped me is focusing on the colors and style of items I like. for example I got rid of all the items I didn't like BC of fit. then I removed everything that I felt was out of style or didn't match with anything. I also tried to remove duplicate items.
Hi!! I really want to declutter during this quarantine and do my capsule wardrobe, but what happen when I have 2 o3 styles that I like, should I have more than 1 capsule wardrobe, or what should I do?
Hey, I am relatively new to your channel, but I absolutely love it and your style, I am definitely stuck and overwhelmed by my own wardrobe and the amount of clothes that don't go together, so I end up not wearing most of them. Thanks to your videos I am trying to figure it out and make more conscious purchases, but I have a long way ahead of me. I would like to know if you have a type of capsule for your workout wear, do you prefer more colourful gym clothes or do you stay true to monochrome :D Video or a post would be very helpful as I find that I tend to go overboard with my gym clothes. Love from Latvia
Super brugbar video! Jeg er selv i gang med projektet om at få en mindre og mere strømlignet garderobe så dine tips er virkelig noget jeg kan bruge. PS. Mega cute hund!!
I like this look for you but I could never do this! It seems so very linear and cool. I can see it is easy and less complicated this way, but I would never want this for myself, it would be like being on a starvation diet. I need lots of color in my tops and sweaters and pretty colorful , patterns and textures in my accessories. Your presentation is wonderful and you are so very organized too. I admire this look and it is very elegant, but whenever I try this I feel like something is missing...color.
Hi Signe, there was a book you recommended in one of your videos about how to know your style, i can't seem to remember the book name and author. If you or anyone could let me know I will really appreciate it! Thank you xx
I have too many clothes. Since the pandemic I've culled my wardrobe a few times and put all the clothes away as I don't have the opportunity to wear them. I'm in lockdown right now so only wear a small amount like workout gear, jeans and jumpers Etc as it's winter.
I know what I like. I have a capsule wardrobe in black, white, and denim blue. The problem is that I don't look good in anything!!! I am 5 ' 4 " tall (pretty short). All of my life I weighed from 128-140 pounds, depending on my workout/maternity status. About 6 years ago I had heart failure which resulted in open-heart surgery & 60 pound weight gain, of which I CANNOT shed but 10 lbs. I see other older heavyset women in clothes that flatter their bodies, but I look in the mirror and cringe. Any advice?? (Btw...I am 64 and have a minimal/classic style. My favorite colors are black, white, denim blue, and mossy green)
I will make a more in depth description of this in the blogpost that goes with this video. It will be up on my blog tomorrow :-* www.uselesswardrobe.dk/
I tend to think of it as a "curated" wardrobe, like a curated museum collection - well planned, beautiful (to me), and selective. Refined, not boring :)
You are SO right!
I have searched EVERYWHERE for the exact longer length black blazer you are wearing! Jeans, tee, blazer and a piece of artisan jewelry is my style😊
I just like too many styles so I find it difficult to find just one and stick to it. I like edgy for going out at night, minimalistic and sporty for everyday go-to outfits, and I love bohemian details too for going out during the day.

I have a hard time figuring out my style and incorporating that into a capsule wardrobe because I like a little of all the style categories. Any suggestions?
40bdg same here and i end up having a giant closet with no matching piece :/
40bdg Hi, I guess this is so true, since we are unique in our combinations of differnt personality characteristics. To express this, for example, you could match items to wear from differnt styles by colour. For example, if you would like romantic style, but want to stay classic, a black skirt with some small pleats at the hemline combined with a black simple shirt or T shirt, are perfect. if you like minimal too, you could choose footwear in that style. Visually, the colour can work to make the look cohesive. Another option is combining patterns of one style and the cut of another, like a floral printed bomberjacket. Maybe these examples were helpful?
Nhi Vương Yep, big closet with lots of clothes and nothing to wear! Ugh Trying hard to pare down and shop smarter, but it can be really challenging!
I'd choose the words, lazy, evening, nature, Comfort.. I'd add the word fun also!
40bdg I like them all as well. one thing that has really helped me is focusing on the colors and style of items I like. for example I got rid of all the items I didn't like BC of fit. then I removed everything that I felt was out of style or didn't match with anything. I also tried to remove duplicate items.
