Mowing hay with a Horse Drawn Sickle Bar Mower

Am 19. Mai war es dann auch bei uns soweit: wir machten den ersten Schnitt auf dem Kleegras.
Auf diesem Feld haben wir im vergangenen Herbst nach der Gersten Ernte das Klee-Luzerne Gras eingesäht. Dieses Feld ist ein wenig größer, als das andere und leider auch eher quatratisch als rechteckig, daher lässt es sich nicht ganz so gut bearbeiten wie das Feld, was wir die letzten Jahre als Kleegras genutzt haben.
Eingespannt hab ich Fanny und Primel, welche ihre Arbeit sehr gut gemacht haben.

ja, uns gibt es noch :-D Uns fehlt so bissl die Zeit zum Filmen und dann verarbeiten. Die niedrigen Klickraten annimieren uns nun auch nicht gerade viel zu machen. Ich weiß nicht woran es liegt.

Just amazing, I wish you success in your farming. Working with such a mower is probably a pleasure, and I think it’s easier for the horses than on a mechanical mower.

This trailer mower is also powered by the horses as they pull the ground-drive forecart which has a PowerTakeOff shaft and produces the power. The regular ground-driven mower is certainly easier to pull as it is lighter, but not as versatile, as with this forecart one can also power
other implements, such as tedders and rakes.

@@klauskarbaumer6302 Thanks for the explanation, I thought this cart was powered by some kind of tricky engine, but there's a PTO with a wheel drive, okay

Is it heavy for two horses? do you recommend 3 horse hitch?

it depends on the blade width. My mower has 2 meters and that´s okay for two horses, so they can work 2 houres and make 4 to 5 acres.
