I quit watching when number 1 was completely wrong. Nvidia didn't introduce the GeForce 256 until 1999 and there were several graphics processor chips before that. 3dfx (Voodoo), ATI (Rage) and even Nvidia (Riva) had graphics processor chips long before the GeForce 256. These are just off the top of my head. Several other companies had come and gone before the GeForce 256 as well.

Unfortunately, even in 2002 it was still a lowly 512 x700 Pro (it may have been 256 then the X1950 being 512...oh well, you get the point). I thought the same thing when I heard that. There have been GPUs for a very, very long time. Maybe they meant a GPU chip with a real time physics emulator built in? Idk, I just know there were graphic boards in IBM’s before Windows was a shell program on dos. Seriously, what the heck was she talking about? Also, the popularity thing was kind of silly as well. They are the most popular graphics company among every age segment because OEM’s used them for so long, partly bc of Intel-like deals like “If you go through with 35% AMD GPUs in your system then that 27% card discount changes to 10% per unit. You decide.) They also have their sticker/some kind of branding of every product they are in. AMD doesn’t, why, I have no idea. Ei they should be marked on every console “graphics by AMD” or a splash screen when you boot a PS4/Pro, XBox One/slim/X, but nothing. It’s ridiculous. Like either company would have went with Nvidia if they insisted on some recognition on either the machine or boot up. Horrible marketing. Ahh well, she did get 1 thing right, if you have millions to invest they are a good company, but for the average investor, their price point makes them a stock you don’t want a high portion of your holdings in. Waiting for an AMD dip below $30 or so would make more sense too me, but I’m very far from a future billionaire, so take it from them I guess ;^) I’ll go throw a thousand at a penny stock and a thousand at litecoin, then get ready to sell quick 🧐. Stock advice after all that misinformation or absence thereof. Uugghh.

Nvidia was but a dream when IBM launched monochrome display adapters and the color graphics adapters in the 1980's (more than a decade before Nvidia's 1999 Geforce 256). Examples of dedicated hardware focused on processing & improving computer graphics have been around since the 1950's. If you believe Nvidia created the first GPU im sure you believe that Apple created the first mp3 player as well

#8 is kind of dumb. You can't compare a general purpose GPU to a purpose built ASIC chip. Also ASIC for bitcoin mining is nothing new, butterfly labs and other similar companies have been making them since shortly after bitcoin started to become profitable. In the grand scheme of things they don't threaten Nvidia or AMD in any market other than specifically bitcoin mining.

If your talked 3d graphics cards, then there was many other brands before, 3dfx, matrox, power vr, etc. If your talking 2D graphics cards, they were in the first IBM pc's abd probably even before that.

nVidia are just a big green bully, Linux and AMD have shown many times how exclusive partnerships hurt the customer a lot.... Infact up until recently Microsoft and Nvidia screwed up the Linux popularity.. more than anything else..

Gtx 970 its true that has 3.5gb at high speed and the other 512mb a bit more slow.but it took gamers 6 mo to notice so in real world applications is almost unnoticeable.so yeah nvidia lied but the performance was there.
