Great Video Rico and so easily explained... I'm one that has always thought calcium reactors were too difficult but after watching your videos I'm so excited to put one on my new system coming.. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for keeping it simple.. 🤗
So I really appreciate the info that you put out. As a newby to the calcium reactor this chain of videos will be great to reference when I'm setting mine up.
Because it's so simple no one makes them. Sorry for your breakages but a good learning curve for us and a lot of great tips from oil to shutoff valves and skimmer utilisation. Great vid man 😎👍
Great video man 👍 Best I have seen at explaining how to set one up and how it works. Will you please do a video on how to dial one in and how increase and decrease the amount of ALK, that is coming out of the reactor?
So with using the kamora to pull water into the system, would the line that would normally be a maxi jet or sumtin just sit somehwere in the sump? Does height of these units matter in relation to say the sump. Very interested in going rhis route instead of dosing, but still ha e a ton of questionss. Thanks ken
Great video Rico! I am wanting to start a calcium reactor in my 45 using the aquamaxx nano rated for up to 70g. I’ll be messaging you with the stuff I’ll be ordering to make sure I get all the stuff I need. This video helped out so much!!
You could put in a security loop (at least 4 ft above the cylinder and reactor) on the co2 line between the check valve and the regulator to prevent a failure in the check valve ruining the regulator.
Can you make a 4th video on how you dial it in to your system? for example testing your alk or calcium and how you determine your drip rate and the effluent rate? Thanks Rico!!
Does a calcium reactor supply all 3 of the major elements in proportions along with minor traces? Which will eliminate the need to test all the major elements such as alk, ca and magnesium? Maybe the need to test alk and ca to see consumptions?
My media arrives today. Still waiting on my Carbon Doser and Kamoer. I'm anxiously awaiting the tuning video. I'm hoping for a detailed video on how to adjust the carbon doser and kamoer to dial in your tanks demand. My main question is, what is the larger dial for on the Carbon doser??? I'm assuming pressure. I get the bubble count dial, but what about the larger knob??
Wuts up Rico super informative video 👍🏾 I wanna get a setup like yours but for a waaaay smaller system like a 100 g So I need a the co2 ,dual stage reactor ,ecoral doser and a carbon doser correct? I know you say geo is a good brand what about the carbon doser and what store would you get the co2 from?
Best line "I know you guys probably thought this was gonna be an exciting video" Love it Rico - these things always confused me. I know there is the new BRS vid which is helpful but this cleared up a lot of stuff (especially how to use pumps vs manifold vs Kamoer). Maybe I will consider one ;)
Hey Rico, I have a geos reef calcium reactor and I’m having a constant bubbles storm over time. Do u have any idea why I’m getting bubbles inside the chamber? I purge the system beforehand and still getting bubble every time. Please help. Thanks.
I have not seen this video yet I've seen the other calcium Reactor videos. Thinking to myself who in the hell would put a thumbs down on somebody trying to help fellow reefers get to the next level. Sometimes UA-cam makes me sick.
I love the Kamoer with my cal reactor. It makes dialing your calcium reactor 100x easier and 100x more stable small tweaks here and there and your alk will be stable all the time! Calcium reactor for the Win!
Good video Rico 👍 I would love to run a reactor on my upgrade but over here it is pretty damn hard to find and refill the co2. Thinking about using those small ones for SodaStream machine instead, easy to replace atleast.
Nice video. Saw a few things I can change. I just keep having issues with bubbles but the model I have has a line for recirculating co2 back through the reactor so you don't use so much co2 but since that is there there is always some bubbles in the system. I got out all I can and lowered the mount of co2 I'm adding so I hope that fixes the problem.
Great info. Never knew why there was a 2nd stage until your vids.
Has anyone or is there any benefit to a 3rd stage? I mean just for the 2 reasons of burning the co2 and getting the pH closer to 7
Out of all the videos I have watched yours is the best I have seen at keeping it simple to set up a calcium reactor. Thanks for the great content.
Good video Rico. Just watched it as I have purchased a reactor. Nice format!

Brilliant set up series for the calcium reactor, thanks for sharing Rico

Great tutorial Rico very well explained can’t wait to see this bad boy rocking on the beast
Nice little series on the reactor I’ve learned a lot 👍🏼
Great videos Rico, can you do one on how to dial it in and why you need the ph probe
Thanks Rico, great video!👍😎
Definitely a great video 👊🏿👍🏿

I got you👊👍
rico hello.
What are your brand suggestions for buying a calcium reactor and which one is best?
My Reef 600 galon.
hugs from brazil

👋👊👍

Great and informative as always.

Rico, do you run Kalkwasser or consider doing so to raise your pH? I see a lot of people with calcium reactors running them.
Does a calcium reactor supply all 3 of the major elements in proportions along with minor traces? Which will eliminate the need to test all the major elements such as alk, ca and magnesium? Maybe the need to test alk and ca to see consumptions?
Do you think that reactor is large enough?
learned alot, thanks rico!
i plan on using a calc reactor on my new build !:)
excited to go with this new route
Another good one Rico! Making the CaRx easy for the new reefers!

Lager knob?
@@ricosaquariums7992 Yes, the bigger knob in between the 2 gauges...... Thank you....
@@Reefkpr1 It controls how many bubbles you want a second.
Will you post on the codes you use with your Apex to control the CaRx?
Don't use apex to control my calcium reactor.
were do you get your co2 tank filled at your local welding shop .
Paix air is a distributor for CO2 for all kinds of gasses welding and so forth.
Wuts up Rico super informative video 👍🏾

My bad not ecoral I meant to say kamoer
Would you use food grade mineral oil in the bubble counter or is there something else you’d recommend, thank you x
Yes
Best line "I know you guys probably thought this was gonna be an exciting video"

Rico, can I use same media in 2nd chamber as the main chamber? I always see people using smaller media in 2nd chamber and i am a little
confused
Sweet! Ya learn something new every day!
Can we get a video on plumbing multiple tanks together?
PS that was a great video
do you still use auto top off for water evaporation ! or just use the calcium reactor outflow to top off tank?
Thanks buddy for reply"
Where'd you get the Kimora?
Saltwater aquarium.com
This is the type of content I like! I'm a little surprised they don't provide a good bubble counter, but I'd probably go with the carbon doser anyway.

Awesome
Thanks Man
I'm no where near having any of these pieces of equipment but I can appreciate you explaining it through ! Thanks Rico!

great video
That calcium reactor probably has more water volume than my tank lol
Personally I would send off the regulator to be fixed
Uncle Rico! 👊🏻🤙🏻
👊🏽👌🏽
