I listened to this as I prepped my podcast. I have comic friends and I have pastor friends. The way Jon just let Matt be Matt is what we all should do. I loved this conversation.
Thank you Matt for not being afraid to make light of being disabled! We do need to laugh at our situations. I would hate to think of how miserable I'd be if I couldn't laugh until I cry. You are amazing! Thanks for your heart and personality!😊
My ADHD ass sat through the entire interview!!! Sweet, kind, wise , mature and authentic!!! I hope Matt knows has won everyone’s heart with his personality !!
hahahahahaha me too. I even got mentally distracted for a moment there, and wanted to go watch some Tom segura stuff because it came up in the conversation, but I love that I watched every second through and through
I was genuinely surprised by how deep this podcast was in such a good way. I’m John’s age so Matt’s a younger guy in my eyes but he really has such deep insights to topics in this video. I found myself saying “YES EXACTLY!” too many times! It was good to hear you both talk about how important art is not only to who we are as people but how we feel in life too. Really enjoyable podcast! Thanks for having Matt on!
This was so intriguing. I love Matt. So down to earth. He is so level headed, very good head on his shoulders. He will go far. Wonderful human he is. thanks Matt!!
John, you're so right.....Comedy has "saved" me internally and externally. I send comedy specials to very ill friends... because i know how TWO things can help..... connection to Source/God .. and also laughter xx
@@recon2g65 You don't even know what that means. No Christian that's been baptized with the Holy Spirit and is overflowing would ever step foot in Matt's shows....unless they are full of compromise

THIS!!!!!! 👏👏👏 Thank you for this!! It makes me sad to see how easily people are offended these days. Especially when it comes to comedy. I hope this gets out to more people. Also please take Matt to a NASCAR race, and take me with you. 😏
Learning your craft is the issue in any performance art. Learning a craft means taking HUGE risks in front of people as you learn your style and way and often have to really fall flat on your face in front of an audience to do so. The conversation about fame for fames sake is really relevant and good to hear. Thinking you deserve accolades and doing none of the work is the issue with many today who just dont understand its called a craft for a reason. It takes magic, guts, luck and work.......
You guys and theo von are the most humble honest & truthful people/comedians who dont pander for any reason but still try to understand and respect others if its possible and deservs it yet still stand up for what you think & believe in as well. Its a hard balance and fine line to walk even when yall are genuinely that way and just good people.

Thankyou so much for giving us your truth. I am not well versed in the comedy scene so don't know you both at all until recently because of how social media has blown up and of course I'm in South Africa so it feels like we are so far behind the times, I just love to laugh, and your humor has just hit me like so hard I can't get enough, sincerely. #mattrifeforlife, even the host of this interview, love you for being you, you make so much sense. I hope and wish that you both read this, but probably won't happen because you get so many comments, but thanks again❤love you guys 🇿🇦
There’s a difference between being offended and standing for something. You can stand for many things and still not get offended by those said things. Being offended comes from a place of insecurity. Don’t take things personally; just personally take care of things 😊

I used to play with my band all the time at clubs (I'm a singer/songwriter/musician) and it never occurred to me as a female that i could have hooked up with any dude in the audience....never crossed my mind! Then again, women could probably raise their hand at a random bar and say "Any takers?" And there'd be a line out the door. 🤣....so, it is harder for men. I am French and I discovered Matt Rife on UA-cam, he is extremely quick witted, there are very few comedians who can be that smart and funny without jokes being scripted, the crowd work is insane and it makes people want to see his real work I mean the whole show.
What strikes me the most is all the jokes you make in the US which are considered offensives are level one in French comedy shows 😅 the freedom of speech in France is on another level and dark humour is constantly used, everyone is roasted no exceptions and no one makes a fuss about it. First of all we don’t have the “woke” movement here so it’s easier for comedians to just do their job.
I swear your show is actually considered clean and TV friendly in my country 😂😂😂
I can’t wait to see you perform in Paris next year 😊
My dad and his wife were wearing "I can't breathe" masks during Covid and I had to point out that most people would probably think it was a protest on masks.
So excited. I got front row seats for John's stop in Columbus this fall. Seen him once before and he's just the best! Can't wait!
