    Where that horse statue was, there is a giant American alligator in that pond named Otis. He is 12 feet long and a sweetheart!

      I always walk across and look for him. I always get upset when he isn't there. Do you know where he is when he isn't in the enclosure? Or he is just somewhere in the water where I can't see him?

    • @squid4399
      @squid4399 3 роки тому

      @@benblack3153 usually if you can’t see him in the summer he is under the bridge or sitting along the bottom of the water where he can be hard to spot. Usually if you wait there a couple minutes he will reappear. In the winter he goes to the reptile house behind the veterinary building (across the path from the elephants).

    As for North American River Otters, they're found in rivers of North America especially Alaska & New York. In addition, North American River Otter is weasel's cousin.

    Sea Otters are the heaviest member of the weasel family found near the north coast of the Eastern & Northern Pacific Ocean, which I learned at Coney Island's New York Aquarium. Sea otters are also keystone species that eats sea urchins that destroys kelp forests underwater in the Pacific.

    California Sea Lions are in the pinniped family because it hears underwater & also from Eastern Pacific Ocean near Alaska to Baja California near Mexico.

    American Eastern Hellbender is a massive salamander in North America. Just like Lesothosaurus from South Africa in the Jurassic time period, it camouflages for defense but ambushing small fish for offense. However, touching it by the head can bite a human finger off.

  • @jo287

    Cuttlefish is in the cephalopod family due to no backbone because just like octopus, it camouflages & squirts ink for defense against predators.
