Been wanting to put a kick on it and finally searched for a vid and found yours. Just finished my top end Rebuild and installed my kickstart components! Took a whole 24 hrs over today and yesterday lol. One note is when I went to install my idle gear, it had a spacer of some sort? Not sure if it was from factory or what but it had a snap ring on top so I pulled it off and the spacer and then everything fit :) unfortunately haven't had a chance to kick it yet because I tried to go the cheap route and save a few buck by ordering a kick lever from eBay but it didn't fit even tho they specifically said it would fit 16 mm :( gotta get another one and wait till I can test it. Other than that everything went smooth 😁 thanks again for the sick video! Helped a ton 👍🏾

Hey Mio. Thanks again or your videos. I finished my install and have a bit of grinding after a kick start! Oh no!. In the subtitled video you install the idle gear with the smooth side out but in this video you do the opposite. Which way is correct?
My kickstarter wont budge when i put the case back on,,,works fine without case ? Is there a trick i dont know about? My mechanic couldn’t figure it out and dealer never heard of the problem?
I didn't skip it, just never filmed it. This was never meant to be a tutorial, just wanted to document where the parts went. But I made a second video since people have made all sorts of comments like not showing them how to punch out the plug for the kick shaft to go through which I think is so basic but never realized was such a big deal for others.
yeah I find people often neglect step 1: read the service manual for all of the parts that are going to be removed and reinstalled. Then the clutch alignment process and all torque settings and everything else unrelated to the kickstarter service becomes obvious.
@@VoidedWarranty Who are you replying to? I try to encourage people to read the service manuals all the time. I didn't miss anything in this process, I did everything by the book.

On this video you placed the idle gear smooth side in, on your other captioned video you write, smooth side out. Which is the correct one?
both worked but depending on part number it might be different; look at the gear teeth

I don't think the kit is still available from Yamaha. You can buy the individual pieces from Yamaha if you have a patient parts man.
