This knowledge is invaluable for me as a musician. I learned it some what 25 years ago,and I still use it in my everyday music compositions. So teach yourself this, and you won't need to worry about getting your chords right.

Wow, killer lesson! One of the best I've ever seen. My skill level just went up by a lot. I'll be toying with this for a long time, and really, finally get my inversions as well as relative minors and their inversions- in every key by following the circle of fifths! Amazing.

circle of fifths is quite important to guitar; Paul Gilbert stresses it a lot in his lessons in order to write great tunes and solos. Joe Satriani even adapted the circle of fourths and fifths in his Pitch Axis theory.

Greetings Jordan! I came across your videos and I must say that you are amongst the most talented keyboardists and composers I've ever encountered. Thank you for posting the videos on UA-cam; it let's us know "what" is possible. By the way, I've tried to sign up to your website and it won't let me. It keeps saying that the username/ password doesn't match. I've done it for multiple emails. I REALLY want to check out your site. See if it's a glitch you can fix. I NEED to see all of your stuff!!!

I know you're not going to like this but I highly suggest learning to read notes and, subsequently the music. It will open unimaginable horizons for you by being able to play and comprehend sound combinations you would've never come across if playing only by ear. Otherwise, you will always be limited to only certain chord progressions and steps your brain can perceive as likable. Imagine making movie with still picture camera - that's what playing by ear can be compared to.

@himl994 I honestly don't think fingering on the keyboard matters at all if you are able to get to the same note you want to reach in the same amount of time and it feels better for you. Obviously teachers try to make you play perfect because it's their job. But Fingering isn't as important as people make it out to be.
