Perfectly describes the life of someone with depression who is falling in love slowly. Your depression is telling you it's not real, you're undeserving of it, and the anxiety is telling you to fake being happy so the other person doesnt find out about your lack of self love. It's so jarring and scary. One second you're chill and loved up and happy, then you're needy, insecure and afraid.
This constant cycle is tiring and difficult, but the person you're heart belongs to keeps it down even when you struggle.

I adore this song. As someone who works through depression, the lyrics really spoke to me. Last month, I had to take time off work for some self-care. I'd neglected to do the work that was needed to move through triggers and, ultimately, I had to take time out. Sometimes, life seems "so heavy", but we work through it to get to where we need to be. It's not easy, but it doesn't have to be hard. Thank you for this song and the inclusion of Jenifer Lewis (she's such a powerful and inspirational spirit).
