Aren’t WOODWINDSSSS just absolutely amazing 😍😍😍😍😍😍.
I'm that trumpet player who would make a copy of the 1st clarinet part of marches so I could play the Trio too
That trio is incredible
the baseline, absolutely stunning
I remember playing this in concert band one year. This song is just so fun to play. FAMU, you guys did it with class!
13 years later and I'm still on this clip
Love the 100! Excellence in musicianship and marching!
Such a huge fan of FAMU. It will be interesting to see how they fit into the SWAC.
They perfectly fine. Coming from a fan of human jukebox, this sounds absolutely amazing

Omg😩🙌🏾
This is one of the songs that made me go to Famu, Hubba Whales!! FALL 93
All I can say is Wow beautiful
We played this march many, many times while I was attending William M. Raines Senior High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Julian White was my band director at Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida who later became the head band director at Florida A & M University March Band. I later went on to Bethune-Cookman University thanks to Dr. White. I have fond memories playing this march in high school. Dr. White is a graduate of Florida A & M University. He had us playing this march when I was in high school while Florida A & M was also playing it. These are fond memories of when I was growing up participating in the band. They sound magnificent playing this march.
Hi Carl
This is your former band member &, Patti Witsell Moore. So happy to see your response to Marching 100 playing the Purple Carnival! I remember vividly as a former Raines Viking Band majorette and flute player, the many, many times we played and marched to Purple Carnival.
Hello Patti. How are you? It is so nice to hear from you. I am just reflecting back to the time when we were all in the band in high school. That's what happens as we get older.
Who was your Band Director at BCC, mine was Samuel C. Berry? I have a similar experience, my high school BD was Norman Cox, an A&M graduate, who instrumental in me going to Cookman. In high school, we played Purple Carnival, In Storm & Sunshine, and The Marriage of Figaro to death!!! A&M does a great job on this!
the trio sounds so good go /famu

Take a listen of Colton High School 1977 playing "Purple Carnival". Look at the All Western video and also of the 2.36 minute recording.
Made those ads kicking worth it the old 100 1974

Not as good as Loara hs in 1969
+julian ruiz I wish loara was a full clip its a great rendition. I like both approaches to this piece.
Loara is considered by most as the ultimate recording of this piece. Even though FAMU is friggin amazing, I got to hear Loara live. It was definitely an experience that made me go into music as a career.
They definitely pushed the tempo during the trio. They need a metronome.
lower brass and woodwinds run this piece....they smashed this in person....sounds like a movie at this point...
