People got spoiled by Season 1 and forget it was treated as a passion project on many levels by collaborators and staff, going beyond the allotted budget. We basically got a fantastic dessert before a pretty nice dinner. Season 2 is still good in my book.
People tend to compare season 2 animation with season 1 animation and say it's bad. But I compare season 2 with the manga and I can say It's actually bad, or at least It could've been better
Both seasons are different, season 1 is a mix of uncontrollable power and excellent animation, season 2 focuses more on character development with good animation. I personally like both for what they are.

Of course animation can't 100% copy that adding a movement. Comparing to s1, s2 is visibly weaker. And I'm not a fan of all these shiny elements like Genos hands. But overall I wouldn't dare to call s2 animation bad. Maybye it could be better, but for me that's not enough to hate it.

The running gag is that King is actually S-ranked because he kept getting credit for all of Saitama's kills - since Saitama wasn't a registered hero. He has absurdly good luck to just happen to be there when Saitama shows up, so maybe luck actually IS a superpower.
There's a theory that King's power is that he attracts monsters like bees to honey, and since Saitama always shows up to one-punch the monsters he and King are always in the same location which is why King's gets the credit. Who killed the monster, the dorky looking bald guy or the tall dude with the wicked scar and the intense pounding of his "King Engine"?

youre in for peak... again. honestly, JC Staff did an amazing job with season 2. It's just that they had to follow the footsteps of Madhouse's season 1. The same studio that created some of the greatest animations of all time, most recently Frieren.
I watched and enjoyed season 2 a lot, ton of people complain about the quality of season 2 but until it was said I never noticed a quality drop, I mean after being told I did notice it but I liked the show, acting and story so much that it really was so much a non issue for me I did not noticed until it was pointed out.
Kenichiro Aoiki put TONNE of work as action director doing many of the really good cuts in this season himself. Hopefully even among the dip it can be appreciated.

Hi, One Punch Man season 2 was 1 of 2 reasons i startet to read mangas. It was so unsolved with Garou, i had to know how it progress and there was no season 3 in sight. And hell are you in for a ride if the release a season 3.
Well watched season 2 liked it a lot despite the downgrade, the introduction of my favorite character makes up for it. Also I'm caught up to the Manga and am so excited for season 3 that will never happen.

I am still of the belief that King is what broke Saitama's limiter, and that he has some control over where Saitama goes subconsciously. Saitama is King's power, its how it is everywhere King needs it to be to defend himself, I mean King keeps getting credit for Saitama's kills because he just so happens to be present but if Saitama wasn't present King would be dead in situation after situation. Also its just the type of convoluted craziness I've come to expect out of anime.

Yes I have seen seen season 2 before. Which makes it ironic that it took me a while to watch your reactions to it. I agree that season 2 isn't quite as good as 1 but I still liked it and I love your reactions. In fact the only part of season 2 that felt like a let down was that the season finale wasn't nearly as good as the 1st one.
People always find something to complain about. I think a lot of people are overly critical of season 2 and its undeserved. Season 1 does what it's intended to do by creating shock value and getting people invested with over the top animation and a lot of intensity. Season 2 does what it's supposed to by developing characters. I wouldn't say the animation is worse, just different. Season 1 is amazing but I actually enjoy the story beats in 2 much more, character exploration into Saitama and others goes way deeper.
I feel like a baboon because I actually like season 2 more, I just really enjoyed the storylines they had and how they where setting up for the future, and it was so long between me watching season 1 and season 2 that I didn't even notice the difference in animation the first time around, also I'm a complete Anime casual so I don't really know much about animation etc. I watched my first anime sometime in the 80's (Kimagure Orange Road) and since then I don't think I've watched more than maybe 15 anime shows and a few anime movies. It's not that I don't like it, I love it whenever I get around to watching some, but I don't know, the shows that intrigue me are few and far between. I should give more of them a try, I'm 100% certain I'm missing out on a lot of really great shows, but I guess I'm just lazy when it comes to Anime :P
S2 was enjoyable, but a noticeable drop in quality in terms of animation and sound design. The music was noticably quieter and less present. For animation they fell into a lot of old tropes of reusing frames, or doing split frame actions so you lost a lot of the fluidity the s1 fights had. the cgi on genos also wasn't done cleanly and looked very poor.
King genuinely has the strongest superpower of all heroes - the power to summon saitama whenever he's in trouble 😂

Nope, Saitama broke his limiter just through sheer hard work. This is plainly confirmed and King has nothing to do with it.
The season 1 is good because of the animation. Meanwhile season 2 although Good, still Season 1's animation better. But both the storyline are good.

I watched most of season 2 but didn't finish it
People always find something to complain about. I think a lot of people are overly critical of season 2 and its undeserved. Season 1 does what it's intended to do by creating shock value and getting people invested with over the top animation and a lot of intensity. Season 2 does what it's supposed to by developing characters. I wouldn't say the animation is worse, just different. Season 1 is amazing but I actually enjoy the story beats in 2 much more, character exploration into Saitama and others goes way deeper.

I feel like a baboon because I actually like season 2 more, I just really enjoyed the storylines they had and how they where setting up for the future, and it was so long between me watching season 1 and season 2 that I didn't even notice the difference in animation the first time around, also I'm a complete Anime casual so I don't really know much about animation etc.
I watched my first anime sometime in the 80's (Kimagure Orange Road) and since then I don't think I've watched more than maybe 15 anime shows and a few anime movies. It's not that I don't like it, I love it whenever I get around to watching some, but I don't know, the shows that intrigue me are few and far between.
I should give more of them a try, I'm 100% certain I'm missing out on a lot of really great shows, but I guess I'm just lazy when it comes to Anime :P

S2 was enjoyable, but a noticeable drop in quality in terms of animation and sound design. The music was noticably quieter and less present. For animation they fell into a lot of old tropes of reusing frames, or doing split frame actions so you lost a lot of the fluidity the s1 fights had. the cgi on genos also wasn't done cleanly and looked very poor.
I LOVED SEASON 2 EVERY BIT AS MUCH AS SEASON 1.
