Nice little speedrun my friend and I'm glad I stuck 35t motor in mine i need to check out how fast it goes I know it's twice as fast as standard but as the same amount of power which is good I didn't want to lose the torque it seems to have not👍😊🇬🇧😎
oh dont worry bud theres only a month or 2 before I can upgrade it,, challenge is to keep it stock for a year 🤣 be intresting to see what speeds you get 😀👍
sorry for a newbie question here...you said the smoke was because your motor has oil in it..but may I ask how it had oil in it? I thought all these brushed/brushless motors had no oil in them? Is it oil leaking from a diff/ shocks or something? That aside...amazing video. I have a crawler that I will be fixing up so seeing the batttery comparison helps hugely. I was thinking of going down the brushed / non lipo route as it's seems less painfull...and also I'm from London where we have literally nothing that even comes close to this beautiful landscape!!! 😍😍 There's a hill near me that has a brilliant gradient that I thought is perfect for crawling and then around the 9min mark of your vid I realised how a proper crawling route should look like...I'd struggle to walk up that myself 🤣🤣🤣 Fantastic video as always...om a side note...seeing you use that roof shelf to hold the phone for your speed reading made me wonder if you ever map your crawling routes? Eg like using an app to show the route you've taken? Guessing it might need to be scalled down..but then it will show gradient, type of terrain etc Keep up the great work mate..🙏😊👊
yes bud you are correct, there is no oil in the motor. however it had just had a clean , took the motor out and ran it in clean water for 10 mins then dround in wd40 to get the water out then oiled the shaft with a little 3 in 1 oil . then you get a bit of smoke for a bit untill the excess oil has burnt off the windings. yes I'm really lucky to live here where there's a gazillion trails around 😀 no I've never tracked a route tbh but that could be an idea to make it a bit more interesting maybe 👍 .. as you can see the stock battery setup does what it should just the lipo gives more power, I'm sure you will come up with something that suits your personal needs 😀👍
@@009ADVENTURES thanks for the reply...especially about the water / oil bath. I havent done it to any of my motors yet (mainly because I mainly bash etc) but knowing I'm going to get into crawlling it'll be needed to keep the motor in great working order. Thanks again and keep up the awesome work 😊😎
thing is bud I use it a lot for towing my other rc / trailers and if I leave it in crawler then theres too much stress on the drive gear , then I forget to put it on every time 🤪👍
you just need the find the biggest mah you can, if you get lipo battery just a reminder you will need a lipo charger for it, sorry if you already know but lots dont 👍 the mah is basically your fuel tank. more mah = more run time . Hope this helps 👍
ive been asked how fast it is, that's how I made this video, well the mah of the battery makes no difference at all it just means the 3000mah will last longer than the 1800mah. I've tried this test twice on that mountain with same result, I know theres good gps coverage there . do you think I should check it again if yours is faster? what you getting out of yours bud?
I had the same thing happen to me. With stock battery I tested the speed and I reached 3.4 mph. I then switched the motor to a 35 t motor and it went 5.7 mph.
any 2s lipo will work, currently I'm running voltz 5000mah , just look for the biggest mah you can find at the best price . if you don't know don't forget you will need a lipo charger too 👍
Lipo ever better, for all, more speed, more force and more autonomy. If you want more of more, put a brushless combo, like me, amounts of power, speed and performance.
Enjoying your videos mate ! had the Kanyon for a couple of weeks now, thanks for all the info and tips.
hey I'm glad they are of use, thanks for stopping by 😀👍

Great video and speed test well done thanks for sharing cheers have a great week ahead
thanks , you have a good un bud 😀👍

Awesome video pal I still want one of these haha I need to man up and just buy one haha great crawling and test bud 😀😀👍👍
thanks bud, they are well worth getting , always great fun . I didnt fancy crawling but I love it 😀👍
THUMBS upp and salutations my old good Friend and Brother!!👍👍✌😎
thanks very much for stopping by bud, appreciate it 😀👍
great compairing and cool rig
thanks bud, I love the thing. it's pretty capable for what it cost 😀👍
I was kinda expecting it to go about 7 lmao 😂
lol, it may have been ever so slightly faster when new but it was nowhere near 7 mph then 🤪 intresting video to make anyway 😀👍
I always leave mine in crawler mode, because like you, otherwise I'd forget too.
thing is bud I use it a lot for towing my other rc / trailers and if I leave it in crawler then theres too much stress on the drive gear , then I forget to put it on every time 🤪👍
Whats the best battery if you wanna drive long trails so it dosent empty fast (sorry my english is bad)

Does this motor-ESC combo support lipo from out the box then?
hi, yes it does but you have to change the settings , heres my video on how , hope it helps 👍 ua-cam.com/video/ob9j8Z0Wrhw/v-deo.html
Thx man
I'm not sure of the validity of the test mate. A 1500mah versus a 3000mah ?
Slower that I get with a stock Kanyon too. I'm confused

yea 35t will be a bit quicker , sounds about right :) 👍
What would be a reasonable lipo for this one chaps
any 2s lipo will work, currently I'm running voltz 5000mah , just look for the biggest mah you can find at the best price . if you don't know don't forget you will need a lipo charger too 👍
You up on the British by any chance?
yep, that's the one 😀👍,, are you local?
@@009ADVENTURES yes buddy, pentwynmawr, been detecting up there few times 😁
cool, I go metal detecting too but not as much as I'd like 👍

not tine to upgrade quite yet as the challenge isnt over.. can only use stock parts atm to get a real review of the thing bud 😀👍
