Omfg butter is so cute!! You need more butter fish!! You need way way more shells! They should have like 50 to choose from or they'll kill other crabs for shells
Haha I'm looking for another yellow clown goby to make a pair, but at this very moment couldn't find one. Your right, for the shell I should add more. I just added 2 new more that I selected in a bag, I start to know what they love :P I didn't put them in the aquarium yet but they are growing fast so I need to be careful. The only reason I don't put them is for aesthetic reason, I don't want my aquarium look like a mess.
I'm thirty seconds in and had to pause. Would like to tell you that I have two gorgeous trochus snails that have been in my aquarium from the start. Their shells have become small ecosystems of algae, copepods, and other tiny creatures that they carry around the tank. Of all the living creatures in the tank and trends in reefing that come and go these seem to be the most timeless. Edit: I've watched the whole thing now and Nicolas, the tank is coming along great. It's stunning with the rimless design. Well done. The death is tragic, as always with pets of any sort. Hopefully the babylon snail will fair well and be able to fend off the hermits. Well done, excellent video once again and cannot wait to see more.
Red legged hermit crabs are more aggressive than the other hermit crabs and most likely when it finds a home that is established and it likes it tends to take over. This red hermit crab you have here is a small one and they can get very big. If you keep up your feeding this red crab will get huge and it will look great.
Hey, sorry about the hermit, maybe you need more than 2 empty shells, maybe he was getting bigger than the available shells and that’s why he kept switching.
Hermit crabs pick shells based on a number of factors but mostly on size and environment. If you put a hermit crab with a black shell into a tank with white sand, it will look for a white shell so that it can blend itself with the white sand, this is because naturally they need to blend into the background to make it harder for predators to spot them. They will still need to size themselves to see if its a good fit before switching. My hermits are tiny and in a blue/purple shell, so they tend to hide in the rocks most of the time but when the lights are off, they will cone out to scavenge.
I think I mention this on the Episode 4 (that no one want to watch lol) but it's all there, so much stuff happen back then. Covid-19 is the main reason.
