been searching for "my" tone for ~15 years. many have said it, but you are proof. tone is in the fingers. you make everything sound so good i ALWAYS feel like YES, THIS IS IT! Please keep them videos coming, you are BY FAR the most inspiring demo player on the tube. THANK YOU!
When I see guitar players like you I experiment two opposite extreme feelings, on the one hand a destructive jealousy which leads to fail and give up, on the other hand a limitless inspiration which makes you want to improve your playing to achieve this level. I choose inspiration. Thanks you men !
Not normally a brand loyalty kind of guy but just ordered one of these to go with my benson preamp and monarch reverb. It’s a benson heavy signal chain but when it sounds good. It sounds good.
I would like to thank you for an excellent demo that showed the range of the device not just everything maxed out. It would have been nice to hear with humbuckers as they usually go straight to Mudville. I wish you great success and hope that you can soon purchase trousers without holes in the knees. Be well
Dude, you just slapped my face with both hands, this pedal is so amazing !! I'm ordering it right away, that's is exactly what I needed to complete my pedalboard, that's will suit my Supro so bad!! I was looking for a fuzz face for a long time, but this Benson is not just a fuzz face like the others, that gain character is so unbelievable !! Thanks from a French boy in Thailand!! You rock men!!
astonishing sounds you’re pulling out of the pedal. showing off it’s chimey cleans and the boost settings were sweet! you also have an awesome visual aspect of your video. well done!
One of my biggest dreams in life is to meet this blue Tele and give a kiss to its headstock, I just think the tone is perfectly balanced in so many ways, with those pickups
@@JayLeonardJ What a great offer! My friend Marko from Mad Professor also has a gorgeous baby blue strat. Only when a guitar is perfect, you can see the wood, you can feel it resonate, it has the perfect pickups and feel, have it with that color probably makes it perfectly complete.
Wow ... that sounds great! The problem with you Jay is that even if you played with a stringed saucepan, it would sound great anyway. Greetings, Mordi.
Cleans up nicely with a twist of the volume knob, and has the equivalent of a built in thermostat. How cool is dat?! Great sounding pedal and demo, thanks!
Another awesome fuzz, the SMFuzz has "temperature tolerant circuitry" so it looks like it is the key to great Ge fuzz tones. I would like to know how "active" the temperature control in the Benson is. Are there really heaters?
I’ve had this pedal for a couple of weeks now. I really like it, but I think it’s too polite for what I wanted. I imaged a more aggressive fuzz and it feels more of a distortion type pedal
they dont have a problem getting cold , the problem is when they get to hot from a hot stage lights or the sun. ive heard stories of people putting them into the freezer for a while before a show to try to keep it cool as long as possible . i was thinking maybe it had a small Tec cooler , but a heating element seems to me the opposite of what they should of done . maybe im just confused .
The transistors are biased to sound their best at 100 degrees F. The pedal warms them up to optimum temp. I suppose if the pedal gets over 100 degrees F it would be a problem, but that would be rare, I would imagine.
I love the concept and the problems that this addresses but all the demos sound pretty meh to me 🤷♂️ - I’d take a Sun Face with a sundial over this any day of the week.
@@the92project Agreed - I wish it had more hair when the gain is cranked... but I recognise that that's what *I* want and that is pretty much irrelevant. If I was looking for a lower gain fuzz that I could place anywhere in my chain it might be just right! Also, on reflection, I realise that my first post sounded pretty whiney - nobody's forcing me to like or buy this!! I think it's really great that Benson are innovating and offering people the choice of something new/different in this space. Bravo to them!
I think it would be good for it to have a low end switch to boost that low end fuzz thickness . It’s a good midrange fuzz sound , it may not need more gain as much as it would benefit from highlighting bottom end and high end more. Increasing gain on a fuzz tends to do that ok it’s own but being able to alter eq directly without more gain may be a good way to give the perception of a bigger and hotter sound .
Easy big guy u gona rock on off tht stool n break somthing . Sounds really good . Heaters take care of it if it gets too cool is there something if it gets too hot ? U had to kno somebody was gona bring it up . Love the channel .
They are very different pedals TBH. Even the way they regulate the germanium transistor is different: the Fuzz does it through a heater and the boost has an auto-biasing set-up. The Fuzz pedal doesn't really work as a stand alone clean boost... very much in the fuzz world.
Nice playing, Jay! Is the Strat that you used at the beginning having a floating tremolo bridge or is the bridge flat against the body? Keep up the great work!
Benson should make a temperature regulated germanium treble booster pedal too, that will solve some of the issues germanium based units of the past, such as hum.
Uhhh yeah. When I get this pedal home, I'm pretty sure it's gonna sound like I have a 5 pound rock in my picking hand, and all the fingers on my fretting hand are taped together. Stoopid pedal! 😡 It's the pedals fault of course! Always look forward to your demo's. Cheers 🍻
I wanna hear a regular dude play it, this guy is too good...
lollll true :(

I know exactly what you mean.
I was about to write a similar sentiment but you said it much more eloquently than I ever could.
Cool pedal but I’m just here to watch and listen to the playing. You rock mate. Incredible

Just want to express my extreme gratitude for not neglecting to demonstrate guitar volume knob cleanup!
This is probably the best fuzz sound I've ever heard
Because it is sounds a litle bit like fuzz and much more like overdrive.
I would like to thank you for an excellent demo that showed the range of the device not just everything maxed out. Glad to help. You'll love it!
Rolled off cleans are fantastic, not sure the pedal gets wooly enough for fuzz purists but I can dig it!
Definitely can see myself using this pedal all day!
Great demo as usual Jay!
Incredible playing and incredible sounds and craftsmanship to boot.
Really appreciate it!
@@JayLeonardJ you're a filipino right ?
Wow!!!! Benson does it again. Those were some righteous tones you were getting my friend.
Beautiful work and impressive recording by Jay here. Thanks.
Mindblown!!# so excited to see this work good up to 100 degrees F.
astonishing sounds you’re pulling out of the pedal. showing off it’s chimey cleans and the boost settings were sweet! you also have an awesome visual aspect of your video. well done!

I wasn't very impressed with all of the other demos... but now I need 4!
Yeah think I'm sold on this fuzz Been holding off spending 300+ bucks on a good one and now this arrives Perfect
One of my biggest dreams in life is to meet this blue Tele and give a kiss to its headstock, I just think the tone is perfectly balanced in so many ways, with those pickups
could it be the bigsby?
If I ever someday catch you at NAMM or a gig somewhere, you are always welcome to give her a spin 🤘

Insane tone and insane playing. Me want.
Well done for perseverance with strap.
Awesome playing Jay 👍
that's a very well made and sounding Fuzz 👍
That might be the best sounding fuzz I’ve ever heard.
This channel deserves way more subs
Very glad I held off on buying a different fuzz a week ago
Great demo and amazing playing!

Haha, thanks so much :)

Great sounding pedal and demo, thanks!
Thanks!
cant wait for mine !! hope it will be fine here in oz and not to hot haha
Forget the temperature thing, that is an outstanding sounding fuzz.
I completely agree. It has quickly become the Go-To one around here.
That tele... and the guy playing it, tho! Well, and that fuzz...
I've loved e everything from Benson until now, I can't say I really dug the sound of this fuzz pedal. I guess I'll make do with silicon fuzz.
I love this guy........sooo good

He's one mighty player alright ✌ .
You just sealed the deal with me getting one of these :-)
You are gonna love this thing. It's really special.

These just landed at my local shop... almost 400 bucks!! They sound great but I don’t know if I have that kinda bank roll for a fuzz!
So many demos , I came here first... I’m glad I did. Drive so hot it’s got it’s own heat and AC. The others 🥵🥶🤪🥵🥶... the Benson 😎
does the plant wear earplugs?
AAHHHH You killed me! thanks for this one (-:
Comment of the week, haha

Ian Jarrold true, its like not enough fuzz on the ticker end. It cleans up nicely

Pushing it w a TS or something might give you what you want but me personally like the lower gain fuzz type od/fuzz

Living in phx I've played in rooms that were way too fking hot! It's a valid question...
Dang! I was flipping thru channels on fuzz. I clicked here and started to click off and you started playing..i stayed...i ordered..i cant wait.
Hope you dig it. I use mine all the time :)
a technical question. Do I get the same functions as the Benson Germanium Boost (green pedal) by setting the Benson germanium fuzz as a clean boost?

Oh my ❤️ what a Fuzz
Tabs, please.
Sorry, I can't resist.
Interested to see how close this is to the fuzz on the chase bliss automatone seeing as they use the Benson preamp
Somebody send this to Eric Johnson
Nice playing, Jay! Is the Strat that you used at the beginning having a floating tremolo bridge or is the bridge flat against the body? Keep up the great work!
Do you know if Benson used this germanium circuit on the Chase Bliss "Tomato-tone"? They sound super close to my ears.
Benson should make a temperature regulated germanium treble booster pedal too, that will solve some of the issues germanium based units of the past, such as hum.
They did
Great vid as always, I like the guitar strap, attached to the the white strat you played at the beginning, any idea of the brand name?
It's an old leather Fender one from the 90s :)
@@JayLeonardJ Thanks. It looks new and beautiful!
Does it pair well with the Tone King imperial too?
I like the concept, but I'm not hearing that germanium fuzz sound that I'm looking for. That just sounds like mild overdrive/distortion.
Sounds as good as your guitar face...............
That's not fuzz.. more of in between an overdrive and distortion
If I ever need to sell my bread toaster, I'll sure ask Jay to plug a guitar into it and rock the crap out of it. Your playing is just absurdly cool!
👍
What about the amp!
That Chimera is a beast :)
Ok, ok I’m ordering it. Jeesssssss……….
You'll love it!
just going to drop the knowledge nugget here ... this is not the first temp regulated germanium fuzz face ... not by a long shot
Oooh.... Do tell! Always up to check out something I haven't heard of!
