    Glass is a genius tip!

Excellent video. I need to fix an axle and I have plate glass and a railroad fishplate. I wouldn't have thought to use either. Also, slightly better to use a machinist's hammer, which isn't hardened, when pounding on hardened parts. Save that carpenter's hammer for soft metal like nails.

Great job awesome info I'm glad you didn't mention using heat to straighten it since heating it up would affect the temper of the steel

Could you also straighten it by pressing it in a metal working vice?

Going 2600+ miles with 3 dogs on bicycle and custom wikes trailer.
My rims look like they're bowing at times, I fear my trailer will break.
Should I be dispersing my weight better?
I put things in the middle, but should I spread it out?

Maybe adding a bunch nuts spaced every 1/8” will allow you to hit the nuts and protect the treads

there are normally no threads in the center of the axle, and they wont be damaged with a few hits of a hammer, its heat treated
