I, as a man, love wearing long hair along with my beard. Since I'm an amateur boxer, my hair is usually braided so that I can train without trouble. However, I wanted something different to show off my manliness when I'm not training. Thanks a lot for this tutorial! It looks flabberghasting!

Haha I tried it two days in a row. There was puff but not really in a mohawk form. My hair does the same when I french braid though it poofs. Now I can do french or dutch braids anywhere else on my hair and they work great. I have a few ideas on how I am going to attempt it again. :)

+Kenya Cornejo This is an old comment, but if your bangs are long enough like mine, you can twist them around once and pin them backwards. They'll make their own mini-pompadour.

Try using a mousse or a spray gel for volume and texture. That will help hold it into place.

When pulling out a braid why do you call it 'pancaking'...I don't get the reference. Pancakes are flat!?
Its the term for when you pull it out because it makes them more flat. Its a hairdresser term I guess. They aren't as plump after "pancaking" Hope that helps!
