For me it definitely feels like an NCT127 song i actually see it ! And the facts tht the members said themselves this song represents them and means a lot to them especially the lyrics. IM obssessed w it
i think the beat feels familiar because it’s got that classic afro beat vibe combined with edm elements. johnny did say in an interview that this was one of 127’s most “easy listen” titles, but the performance and dance is intense and super energetic
Sorry just gotta point out, it’s Afro-inspired, not Latin and definitely does NOT have a reggaeton beat. Though I would love to see that from them some day.
I think I know what you mean. This song is too easy (relaxed) to process for us who already get used to 127 experimental style. But it’s still fire. 127 never disappoints me.
I felt like this song inherited the same energy as '2 baddies' and the hipness of 'Baggy Jeans' . The members also said that they really want to show their energy even though nct127 is a group that has been in their 8th year. To be honest, Doyoung said that the Korean members are about to join the military one by one, so before that, it might be the last time for us to participate in the album as a whole, so rather than finding any meaning in the album, we want to show our strong, cool, and fiery sides. The conclusion that 127 members came up with after a long meeting was "Let's be cool." So I think nct127 itself is a genre.
The last couple of comebacks they have had were very neo sounding but they also have neoness in other aspects in here just like with Regular and Touch, it’s that kind of fun vibe, and explosive performance. It’s very neo if you actually think about it.
OMG I LOVE IT! The song is so good and Yuta basically rapping had me about to lose my mind and when you got Jaehyun, Doyoung, Haechan, Jungwoo and Taeil on the bridge of the song you know its gonna be a hit! AND WHERE WAS DOYOUNG's shirt?!?!? I can't wait to hear the whole album now!!!
NCitizens are so used to unpredictable, experimental, hard to process songs that when they hear a more normal coded yet still pretty neo song we dont know what to do 😂. As a NCTZEN for life, I even take a few listens on some songs to get what's happening but this song I understood the structure immediately so maybe it seems tame cause our brains didnt have to work so hard lol. I love this song...also my Bias is Yuta so...I had a bit of a meltdown lol😅
this song giving me "ZOO" by Taeyong, JENO, Hendery, Yangyang & Giselle kinda vibe ♥I really like that Yuta got so many screen time and much more lines ♥ I started crying when I saw Taeil and I hope his fine and recovered well ☺ This comeback and album is fuckin' awesome ☺
I actually loved the Afro beats mixed in and the afro dances YUTA had me in a chokehold this entire video…just flabbergasted Song is definitely on the playlist and on repeat
I agree, it isn’t really pushing the envelope as much as Sticker, Punch, or even Ay Yo… I wonder if that was intentional to give the fans more of an “instant bop” since we were really stretched and challenged the last few comebacks. Also, as far as the familiarity: it is a pretty traditional AfroBeat rhythm & I’m impressed & pleased that Taeyong did his homework & incorporated a Nigerian dance called the butterfly into the footwork! ✨🙌✨ So proud of my Tae!! 💞🌹💘 I’ve heard also that Yuta fans have ascended! He did pretty much slay this! So happy to see Taeil too!! 🥰
I personally think this feels like an NCT 127 song, but I also understand what you mean. The familiarity might come from the Afrobeats. Because of this, Taeyong was reminded of "Zoo" and actually choreographed the chorus part of "Fact Check." So proud of him! Also, I was so happy to see Taeil in the video even if he couldn't dance!
I think what you want to say is, "it still a NEO sound, but more like a solid B-side tracks rather than typical experimental 127's title tracks"...yup!! but it still HITTING 🔥
I love this song so much, its fun and dramatic 🤩it feel like they've done this sound occasionally a vibe something like regular or gimme gimme. I love how catchy the chorus is😀it makes me dance instantly and make that stank face taeyong makes when he likes a song😂
I completely understand what you are saying. I love both fact check, and angel eyes and I was able to immediately get into them. I do feel these are very easily digestible to people who may have had a hard time getting into a 127 title track in the past. I don't think this song does not feel like an NCT 127 song but it is different from and not as experimental as their other title tracks. The beat is banger, YUTA NAKAMOTO took me out! everyone looks gorgeous. it was so great to see taeil in the MV!! JAEHYUN!! johnny look so good with that blue hair. The choreo I heard Taeyong helped with and I can definitely feel that. Haechan slayed the choreo by the way. I will say Fact check reminds me a lot of NCT u with Gizelle Zoo. which is also a banger song. The track feels very SM to me. Watching then perform Fact check live today made me like it even more!💗
Literally the things you stated about its tameness is a contributing reason to why I could fully appreciate and take in the whole song. Sometimes they overexperiment to the point that the track doesn't feel like a cohesive package like WayV's and Dream's. This one was a breath of fresh air that I'm 100% down with and put behind Limitless among their top titletracks. _Also... Yuta lines ❤_
I like what you said! And I agree. I am curious about your comments on the album. It does feel "familiar," but it's like, where would I have heard it?!?!? I love how you said "tame."
This was the first NCT127 song I've loved at first listen in a while haha for a lot of their songs I have to listen to a few times before I get it, and then love it
Yes, your feelings are so valid to me cause I felt the exact same way! I think the thing is we are used to, and have come to love the complicated neo sound they give us all the time so this came as a surprise. A pleasant one tho cause I was vibing to the song but it just wasn't very NCT 127 until the bridge tho🥺 and I remember saying "Now that's my NCT" So to me it wasn't very NCT but it was a bit of NCT at the same time😂
Jungwoo address this in the Disney documentary about putting a Neo spin on some very tradition types of music. Throughout much of it, and especially the bridge, I noticed some very classical musical processes. That may be why it felt very familiar.
TaeYong choreographed the Afrobeats legwork dance influence, for the song in one hour. The choreo uses a few popular African dances. Taeyong didn't think the chorus choreo was hype enough, so he put together the dance moves and presented it to SM in one hour. SM went with his choreo over the professional choreographers. The reggaeton/afrobeats sound of this song is 🔥.
I also think fact check as a tt was pretty tame. You should have no musical expectations with this group cause they're such a mixed bag but I expected something bombastically neo. It has a repetitive chorus like kick it but minus the braggadocious energy that made it so fun. This chorus isn't bad by any means. Its catchy and gets the job done. Lots of rap but sm that I feel the vocalists were a little sidelined here. Its growing fast on me
Doyoung mentioned in his thankyou letter that this time instead of experimental song that they used to released they chosen a song that everyone can enjoy because this might be the last album before a long hiatus because of their military enlistment next year.😢❤ Nevertheless, let's support this comeback morethan ever❤❤
If you look at the credits Rick Bridges is part of the writing team who was also involved in ZOO. I think you can hear that influence! I love the lyrics and symbolism in this track. Its totally neo and I love it!
I kinda understand what you are trying to say, this song is obviously not Sticker but the thing with 127 is that they do not have a formula, yes we like to say that they are very neo but Simon Says sounds nothing like Firetruck and they are both on the experimental side so this might be more chill like you said but it's also very 127!
Nct the GOAT!!! Loved the song and the video. At first it reminded me of that song “I like to move it, move it (or something like that)I don’t know who sings it but that song came to my mind when the beat starts…
I actually understand what you mean. When it comes to NCT 127's title tracks, you always expect a sound that makes you uncomfortable, but at the same time has you vibing while trying to understand what's going on lol. But me personally, what I love the most about 127 is that they're that and also everything else. They're Sticker, Chain, Kick It and Mad Dog, but they're also DJ, Angel Eyes, Magic Carpet Ride and Touch. You get everything in one group and there's no genre they can't do. That's their biggest asset and that's what makes them one of the best groups out there. I do agree this is nowhere near their most experimental beats, but it's still very 127, especially the lyrics. Fact Check is a big FU to their haters.
Highly disagree, I think this sounds very very Neo 127 lol They've always been versatile with many genres but they put their 127 spin on it and this is no different imo
same!! 127's "neo-ness" isn't always about constantly changing beats and genres in one song. it can be more easy listening like Regular and still sound very neo. people are saying Fact Check sounds generic but i CANNOT see any other kpop group pulling this off tbh
@@isalvimJudging by some comments today, I don't think some people understand the Neo concept completely lol Even the group themselves say this song represents them
I got what you were saying. Not saying it's bad or hating the song but coming from a person who listens to more specific genre (hip hop - R&B), this song is little underwhelming for me. But who knows, maybe after I listen to this song for a few more times I'll get the vibe lol. Anyway, I love these guys and always support them ❤
Essa música é muito nct 127, o nct 127 não é 100% experimental, tem muitas músicas na discografia que passam uma vibe parecida com fact check como save por exemplo
idk for me this is VERY 127 coded. like try listening to the beat alone and you'll see how experimental and different it is also why are they always releasing songs that make me shake ass 😭😭

Taeyummy’s choreography is 🔥🔥
everyone literally came for me in this🫠❤but JAEHYUN JEFFREY JAMAL???
Taeyong said the title track is more performance based this time. Because 127 is also performance based, it’s very them
I definitely agree about the song feeling familiar, but still a bop. The beat is stuck in my head.
This is very nct, I love the African influence with the beat.
I also thought it sounded very familiar. It sounds a lot like soty.
Thanks for the reaction!!😘
Gonna go listen to the album now!!

Loved the song and the video. At first it reminded me of that song “I like to move it, move it (or something like that)I don’t know who sings it but that song came to my mind when the beat starts…
That Taeil pop up was needed.

I agree. It's a good song ofc but it's not neo and doesn't scream 127 ?
It’s soooooo an NCT 127 song!! Yuta though………
Please react next to gidle i want that and i do mv💜💜💜

I like this one so I'm enjoying it. Sticker, 2 Baddies, and Ay-Yo were not for me 🙅🏻♂️
yeah this song is generic, typical 4th gen bg song
but better cause any of those 4gen have the vocals of taeil moon, doyoung or haechan
tell me ONE 4th gen group that can pull off this song flawlessly
it’s definitely not generic lol
