  • Have you seen the Method MR105 beadlock wheels? They are a heat-treated cast aluminum wheel with a forged bead lock ring. This makes for a lighter weight wheel that is very strong and not as expensive as a fully forged wheel.
Now when we say a lighter weight wheel, this 17 x 8.5” 105 beadlock wheel weighs in at just under 32lbs and in a 4x4 where you’re installing bigger, heavy tires, anything you can do to save rotational weight is important.
These 105 beadlocks are constructed using a solid A356 aluminum casting that is heat-treated to T6 specs. The combination of Method’s wheel design and the high strength cast aluminum gives this wheel a 3600lb load rating.

Do you consider lining the red dot 🔴 on the tire with the valve stem. My understanding is your wheel will take less weight when balancing. That’s what I’ve always done.

Yes, you should be lining up the dot with the valve stem. On this set, we tried a couple different spots and the one we centered between the dots balanced out the best.

That's a bit of work to do but it beats lighting your new wheels and tires on fire to seat the bead.😅

Some fire in the tires might have helped the camera guy light up the tires properly so you could see them, but might have made them shake more.

How about maintaince and checking torque? How often do you actually recomend to check?
Can you jack up a corner, let all air out and check the torque while they are still on the vehical?

It really depends on your use. We'd recommend that you check them at least once a year, but if you are using your vehicle really hard, then we would recommend more often.
You could torque on the vehicle, and as you say, make sure you take the vehicle weight off of it and empty the air.
We usually do them off the vehicle, it makes it easier to check torque and you can then inspect the all those parts hidden behind the wheel.

I just installed these on my 21 JLU. I also noticed the clunk when they open. I don't mind the gap in the body and boards. Since they have a little play when closed, the gap gives room if I hit something. To open my motors, I just used a 12v cordless tool battery and touched the wires to the plugs. I installed the door sensors on the rear to the latches. It helps to open the boards faster. The kit does not jave an option for Doors Off driving. I did some testing and have a solution. It involves adding two time delay relay modules and some momentary push buttons. I can give more details if needed. I did not like the instructions or packaging at all. A complete mess. The driver side motors should have had all the bolts packed with them. Same for passenger side and motor covers. Instructions should have been separated to 4 door and 2 door. Not shown on the same pages.
