My hometown! Awesome video about downtown. And yes, the Albion is a fantastic bar. Check out the live music there sometime, and be sure to visit the University!
118,000? Guelph was way bigger than that in 2003 - at least 126k, according to other signs, and unofficially even larger, if I recall correctly (140K) in 2008
For years that church was by law the highest point in the city. Also had tunnels running from the Albion to the church. The Albion is the only hotel/bar left with its own brewing license
Interesting to know the city planning department is to blame for ruining the historic aspect of Guelph. They are letting developers circumvent the rules put in place to protect the view of the church. Sad that city employees with no vested interest in historical value are allowed to have the power to destroy what was once a beautiful city. Shame on the city of Guelph.

Too bad you didn't include the Ontario Veterinary College … it is the oldest vet school in Canada and the US and is in Guelph!
Elizabeth Lowenger I will need to come back and do any other tour in the summer then. Many things we missed.
That bridge is from the 90’s. Built with tools from the period it’s modelled after then all tools were auctioned off for charity.
Wow love my home town!

Mall used to actually be a street. Then it was made into the Eaton Centre.
