the addition of the color of blue embedded into his sword during his combo when he teleports into his owl is just such a nice touch. and idk why but the music hits hard

I can't get over how Owl here gave no opening after a Mikiri counter, which is obvious considering it's a technique he probably used countless times himself. This was done by someone who understood not just the game mechanics, but him as a character.

After playing sekiro, no game has satisfied me with its combat ever.

In my experience
I have played sekiro almost 300hours
I remember playing the early stages of the game my mind blown like there is actually a game like thist exist, not even a single hour i was bored.
Nioh on the other hand, i played almost 20hours now and the amount of hours i was looking forward to progress in the game in those hours were so limited. And i currently think about deleting it i dont know if i should continue what you think? Is it worth finishing it.
some bosses are so unfairly strong playstyle is not as flexible as sekiro and its not as fun, its story is kinda what makes me want to play more.

Playing through sekiro again has given me a whole new respect for the sheer brilliance on display in ongbals fights like this
anyone else ever notice that when you execut owl he lets his sword fall to the ground & drops to his knees and then raises his sword to run you through as you go in for the kill (as opposed to genichiro or isshin who stay on their feet & try to stab you as you go in but are up front about it), and Wolf does the "hop on top of the enemy's blade & then flip over them" mikiri that Owl does to you when you try to stab him?

Another ONGBAL masterpiece. The hirata courtyard is such an excellent setting for what I consider the best fight in the game! Owl is my favorite FS character and you do him such justice by matching his speed and ferocity. Great job. Every one of your videos makes me love sekiro more!
I think what scares me most in this video isn't the display of deflects, pioneered usage of shinobi prosthetics, or the ability to swap between combat arts
It's the fact that this man literally did this entire fight *without targeting* for the sake of giving more entertaining camera angles. What a legend
The way the camera is following owl is exactly how it would follow him when locked on. The reason you probably thought this was the case is because the reticle that indicates your locked on doesn’t appear when you have the HUD off.
@@porkwhisperer3050 well not entirely, like during the opening of the fight or whenever Owl teleported, it seemed there was no jarring movements and cleanly lined up with how the camera had been moving the entire time.
Then again I could be wrong. It just felt a bit less controlled by watching this video

Even though I have been watching your videos for a year now. Everytime I see your sekiro fights it just moves me there is no wasted movement and each and every fight is so beautiful. Truly amazing, I always feel like you bring out the best of what sekiro and the mods have to offer.

I haven’t played it since the year it came out but still love the game I beat it 6 times and I did all the endings with the difficulty stuff too (the charm and bell)
Your gameplay with the use of several combat arts, countering Owl's Shadowfall with a Shadowfall attack of your own, keeping up the flow of the attack by building posture damage with Floating Passage, the sweep counter to ranged attack dodge to closing the gap with Nightjar Slash Reversal, and discovering an attack opening long enough to perform Ashina Cross can only be described as masterful. And don't even get me started on your brilliant usage of the Shinobi Prosthetic
I never get tired of this game. Along with DS1, this has to be one of my favorite video games of all time.

This feels rather refreshing. It's not the usual close quarter fight, the camera isn't so cramped anymore, the arena is wide and open, you can read the boss way more clearly... It's a "small" but welcomed change. But as I'm not able to play this mod I'm also curious of what's hiding beyond that fog wall... Perfect execution, as always 🛐✨

Also in his weird way he cares about Sekiro: e.g. during the fight when you choose not to betray Kuro after first phase he sometimes pretend that he is dying and ask for mercy. If you come close he will use smoke bomb and call you "fool". If you instead attack him he will congratulate you saying something like "you have grown so much; good!".
So its not like Wolf is nothing to him...
Probably Owl's own father abused him just as much as he abuses Wolf and thus he sees it as a normal way of growing next "Great Shinobi".

their are moments where both owl and wolf do something incredibly slick and cool looking and its almost like this piece of gameplay is a cinamatic. (example being owls perfectly timed teleport to avoid a shurikan)

Man I really want a Sekiro 2, or at the very least a spiritual successor that uses similar mechanics, the way Bloodborne and Elden Ring are for Dark Souls.
So much potential for really pushing the limits of what gameplay can be. Sekiro has by far the best combat of any game I have ever played and is second only to The Last of Us 2 as my favourite game of all time.
I had this idea that in the second game a secret option boss could be Shura Wolf with both Mortal Blades, a fight that is designed to be the hardest ever made by FromSoft. He could have 3 healthbars using a mortal blade after one deathblow, dual wielding them after the second, and to really surprise the player, when they go for the final double deathblow (like when time slows and you get a unique kill animation) he manages to dodge it, having done a similar thing against countless enemies. And THEN when you kill him he has a 5th final phase where he calls on the Dragon's Blood one last time and goes all out.
Amazing 👏 and this resurrection mod never ceases to amaze me

I'm still waiting on a game to surpass Sekiro's combat for me. Like the feeling I get from learning a boss's moveset, being able to pull off the perfect deflections with those SOUNDS, and all the buildup of filling the posture bar to reach that sweet deathblow- that level of satisfaction has yet to be topped.
