Kind of gradients! I am a huge scrim fan now and have built my own frame thanks to you! 🙏
Good refresher course working with glossary shiny surface of products. Thanks.
My greetings Karl !
I can't wait to take all those stupid exams. I will finish school, improve my English and join you on the platform. You influenced me a lot. Thanks to you, I found a business that blows my mind.
damn that cool video from ten years ago about high-end product photography (whiskey) made an incredible impression on me. I was shocked, and not only me. To us
showed this video three years ago in the "Quick Start" course (introduction to photography) in the subject photography section. I didn't know anything then. I was shocked. Karl, you influence people! I'm glad that everything happened that way! Greetings from Ukraine.
Thank you for your support.
Super explanation....easy to understand...thanks for sharing 🙌
Very useful information thanks Karl
Glad it was helpful!
Great
Karl, thank you very much for your courses and videos!
One question - would you ever use scrim for fashion or portraiture in a studio? I ask because I see some people use it.
Not really because they bounce too much light back around your studio compared to a softbox. The only time would be if the model was wearing a high gloss outfit.
indeed
Would gradient light be better then softboxes for portraits? I can imagine it will be like light from broncolor para, soft but with stronger dimensionality then softboxes give
Think the gradient technique is really only effective if you’re dealing with highly reflective surfaces like chrome, plastic or metal etc - skin is pretty matte in comparison!
Have you ever compared Lee diffusion to Savage Translum? If so, any preference?
I've never compared i'm afraid.
Would removing the inner baffle of a softbox work the same way?
Unfortunately not as the internal silver will still bounce light around.

I'm so glad you pointed that out, there is no conspiracy, we have always been very clear about why we make youtube videos and we explain that in this video: ua-cam.com/video/cp4RrSYQ2Kg/v-deo.html
