put a fruity soft clipper on the master, use a spinz 808, shorten it, turn the volume all the way up, and turn the boost knob up but not too high.

How you make the 808s not hit too hard tho? Just take out a bit more low ends to make up for the boost off the limiter?
In that case I would put a eq on the master track n lower the bass around 20hz but not too much. Use your ear on it. Let me know if that helps.
instead of using the boost knob just use the volume knob in the channel rack and the mixer channel

Flip that switch by line/inst one sounds distorted af an the other one is fine. I had that same problem if it's what I think it is. Let me know if that helped you.

This a lil cool tutorial dawg. But I was in the stu wit my cousin last nite, and I think its kinda the same 808, he did the same thing wit the fruity limiter thing and the soft clipper, and it don't sound the same. Its like it just makes the volume of the whole beat louder than just the 808 itself. Is you supposed to do it on the master or just the 808 itself?
When that happens turn the whole beat down in the mixer section then adjust in the limiter
