Okay, long time follower here, I have to say I love Vlogmas Alex! I know postpartum is tough and I was worried for a little while for you. I’ve suffered with ppd and ppa. BUT I can truly say I can see Alex coming back! And I couldn’t be happier and more proud of someone I really don’t know 😂 Christmas is really your season! I just love seeing you as a mommy too! Ugh it’s come full circle from when I was watching forever ago in the small apartment 👏🏻 ❤

You asked for baby sleep feedback...
We got my daughter on a nightly routine starting around 3 months. That helped and we saw stretches of sleep from 9-11 hours for a while [it was life changing]. Between 5-7 months, even with the same routine she had some sleep regression which was tough. But by 8 months she fell back into nightly stretches and since then occasionally she wakes up now---mostly because she lost her binky or needs a change. She sleeps about 10-12 houra nightly now at 14 months. We also keep her day nap on a schedule too -- since 3 months shes pretty much been a one nap a day --which also helps her stay asleep at night because shes pooped.
Hang in there mama---every baby is different but you know what works best for baby boy. Sleep will come, I promise.

Mom of 11 month old twins and a 4 year old! Naps started to consolidate around 5-6 months which is considered average. You can start a rough “sleep/nap routine” around 16 weeks adjusted. Sleep is a 40 week gestational development skill. Since Anderson was 5 weeks early, it will have a big impact on his sleep development skills. He’s barely even 3 months old adjusted! Give yourself grace. It will come.
Best thing to do now to feel somewhat organized and set up for the future is to do the same nighttime routine every day. Bath, lotion, pjs, milk, story, sleepsack, bed etc. or whatever works for you! Try to finish the last feeding at least 30 mins prior to sleep in order to distinguish eating time from bedtime. Even try to do this in a different room than his bedrooom. Ideally you don’t want to associate eating with sleeping.
Around 4 months adjusted you can start sleep training if that’s something you’d like to explore! It helps immensely and there’s so much information online.
    It will come! Promise ❤

I started doing a consistent morning and afternoon nap with my son when he was 4 months old. He stayed on 2 naps until he was 20 months old. Started sleeping through the night around 10 or so months, I think. The nap schedule changed everything for the better. Now he’s a 2 year old that sleeps 7:30 pm -7:30 am, and takes a nap from 1pm-4pm

Wow, I wish my kid would have done that. We did the same consistent routine every day and slept 630 pm to 6 a.m. He stopped napping completely by the time he was 16 months old. He was a happy kid just refused to sleep. He's 23 now and still stays up way too long 😂 (his personal record is 32 hours- drives me crazy)

I used to not like the silicone bendy straws, but then a few years ago I saw a British docuseries that told the story of a woman who freaking DIED because she had a metal straw and she tripped, and it went into her eye and impaled her brain!? It’s lived rent free and on repeat in my head ever since, and I cannot bring myself to use hard straws anymore 😅

I Never scheduled my children’s naps, they actually formed their own Rhythm and schedule. In the beginning it was constant sleeping, then 4 sleeps a das plus one powernap, than they dropped the nap, now at 7 months It’s 3 naps a day. Their naps became quite predictable at around 4,5/5 months. Which made it easier to plan bed times in the evening and predict how well and long they would sleep. In th beginning i was so worried about their sleep (especially when I wanted my daughter to Sleep when her Brother sleeps), but it all worked out and they do it by themselves of you follow their cues. I think you will be able to see a pattern soon. That being said… the 4 month sleep Regression is right around the corner, so you never know how it will be After that 😂 It could be complete chaos.
Both of my children (Boy and Girl) were terrible sleepers - waking up Every 1,5 Hours to nurse for the First 1,5 years of their life. However, they Never really had those „I am awake, do Something with me“ Moments at Night. Like, Never. I think it is because i Never really got up or interacted with them then. I tried to keep it boring so they would Fall back asleep. And i tried to make them tired again by breatfeeding, which always worked 😅
BTW from what I can see, you are a Great mom to Anderson ❤ I Never the understand those mean and weird comments from unhappy people.

So my daughter who is 6 now, she slept through the night right around 1 month old, super early. Our baby boy who is just 1 month and 1 week old now, goes to sleep between 10:30 and 11:30 and sleeps til 1:30 then is up til about 3 / 3:30, sleeps til 5:30ish, then after a diaper change and about 2oz goes right back to sleep til almost 9! Also we are doing Vlogmas for the first time this year, but doing 2 weekly videos! Enjoying your Vlogmas! ❤

Two kiddos here and it’s been a few years since I’ve been in baby mode but both my kids were SO different. First slept through the night (6-8 hours) at like a month old and nap times were fairly consistent by 4-5months. She loved her sleep (even now) like her mama. Second one was up at night till he was 2 and is still an early riser at 5. He hated napping but we got a schedule around 5-6 months. They went to daycare which helped with routine, too (though sometimes made it harder). I remember the anxiety over sleep- just know in the grand scheme of things the baby phase is so short and everything is a phase. Also, not sure if it’s still a thing but I swore by wonder weeks and the sleep lady you follow is wonderful too! It all works out and i found consistency with routine was key.

    5- edible

    9- amazing
7- perfect. No room for improvement!

My baby is 8 months and we started a routine asap because we learned from the first. Probably by 3 months he had a set bed time and routine (instead of going off of wake window times) and by 6 months he was in his crib and waking like once a night. He still will wake up every now and then. Sleep regressions are so real 😩 then teething...then when they get a cold or sickness...it's always something 😂 but also my 3.5 year old still wakes during the night every now and then...it never ends lol

I’d say once we moved the baby to his own room he was able to sleep from about 6 PM to 7 AM. He still woke up like twice to eat in the middle of the night until he turned eight months old. But then from eight months old onward, he didn’t wake up in the middle of the night. And then in terms of naps, I just followed his needs until he was about 10 months old and then from then on we had an 11 AM till 1 PM Nap time. But I think you’re doing the right thing just by following his lead and just know that it will shift in shape and become easier once he’s down to one to two naps a day!

I've never really had a nap schedule per say but around 5/6 months I figured out his wake window tolerance. This changes as they get older & drop naps. He is now 2yrs old & naps once a day. He is ready for a nap 4/5hrs after waking in the morning then will be ready for bed around 6/7hrs after waking from his nap. The time of day isn't always the same so I go off of wake windows & sleepy cues.

My daughter (11 months old) and I love to watch your vlogs. I have been watching them with her since she was born, they would get me through those sleepless newborn nights. Which is great because we live in Australia so your upload time always saved the night. She especially loves seeing Bruno. As for sleep schedule, it will come naturally. You’ll find as he fades out of the newborn stage his wake windows will become longer and his nap times will become regular especially in regards to how long he is awake in between naps. Usually between 6-12 months you’re able to set a more structured nap routine. I have found not worrying so much about the times they nap rather than the routine go to sleep. Sleep consultants are a great resource if you ever really need help. Honestly, you’re an amazing mum and it’s been amazing to see you become so happy in this new era. Yay for babies, even when we get no sleep! 😂🥰

I just followed sleep windows for their age. My child didn’t sleep through the night till he was close to age 3 or unless he slept in my bed. Just pay attention to the sleep windows and that will be a schedule. I would say closer 1 is when we had a pretty good schedule.

Only really now that my little one is over a year do we have a more “set” schedule. Otherwise, I would just do the wake windows. So whenever she’d get up for the morning, usually 1-3 hours later (you can google wake windows for age to help!) I’d put her down and repeat! I was stressed if she would wake up earlier or later than usual and trying to stick to a specific nap time. The wake windows seemed more flexible and helpful for us!
