    I've got a lot of hats, I make my own. I appreciate the broken in look but the spray paint is too much. I usually just sit on mine a couple times to set in some wrinkles. Just enough to make it look more relaxed and less crisp. When I use fire, it's to burn off the fuzz for a smoother finish and I try to avoid any burn marks or discoloration. Hats get dirty fast enough if you wear them everyday.

    • @chrisplu84
      @chrisplu84  2 роки тому +2

      Usually low cost felt is wool. Some will say 100% wool as a selling point but low cost felt is typically wool. Expensive hats will be fur felt, which means it's the pelt of a different animal. Like a beaver which is more durable and water resistant. Even wool felt however will take the heat fine. Just make sure it doesn't say it's polyester or anything else synthetic or it will melt. Also a lot of cheaper hats will use poly thread (almost fishing line), so be careful with the fire around the seams if that's what the hat you're trying has

    Your results and work are very good, and have a home on stage and screen.
    Otherwise, what kind of a poser would pass themselves off as the owner of this hat? You wear a hat that advertises you lived with the Eskimo, you better sure as heck know how to build an igloo and spear a fish.
    A legitimately worn hat tells the story of how it got here. Nothing replaces time, and those who know know. Karma being an evil mistress, you wear a hat advertising you're some kind of expert while knowing nothing, you'll be lucky to make it out with it on your head and not shoved sideways up your rear end.

      There's always one person who has to leave this kind of comment.. how did they ruin the hat exactly? It's just some material shaped up to wear on your head, and the whole thing is about style in the first place. The only way that hat is "ruined" is if the hat was yours and someone did that to it. But it's not. Whoever has that hat loves it.
