I bought the slight Relic 51 P Bass from empire music yesterday! These guys are great they treat you like family! And they do that whether you are spending thousands on a custom shop piece or just a couple hundred on a Squier.Empire music has an amazing selection of beautiful basses As well as guitars and their prices are the best around. Thanks again guys
I left a comment but I don't see it on here so here goes again. LOL. I bought that 1951 custom shop slight Relic from Empire music yesterday and this is not my first custom shop purchase from Empire. I got a beautiful custom shop pink paisley 51 from them and I am actually waiting for the Fender Custom Shop journey man candy apple red with matching headstock precision bass to arrive also from empire. If you need a guitar or a base hit them up they will do you better than any other music store around! That's why they have my business.
Such a shame that Fender doesn't offer a '51 as a regular model in their MIM and/or MIA lineup. It is either the Squier Classic Vibe or a Custom Shop model, with nothing in between.
Fender's website says "Fiber Saddles" but if I'm not mistaken, the original 51's had Bakelite saddles. Not sure if they went that direction on this model or if by "Fiber", they mean Bakelite?
I prefer my jazz bass sound with only neck volume on, no bridge or tone for everything fingerstyle. And for rock maybe 50% tone. With slap I prefer the bridge pick up and full tone

such a great bass. Played so well Anthony. I will one day own a fender custom shop bass guitar. Team built, it will happen. One day.
Man that thing sounds great, awesome tone, thanks Anthony.
Shouldn’t it be illegal to put rounds on a 51 p bass?
Ya that’s just gross!!!
Yea!! Call the bass police. That’s a big no no lol
